Search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the diphoton decay channel with 4.9 fb-1 of pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV with ATLAS
A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is performed in the diphoton
decay channel. The data used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9
fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in
proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. In the
diphoton mass range 110-150 GeV, the largest excess with respect to the
background-only hypothesis is observed at 126.5 GeV, with a local significance
of 2.8 standard deviations. Taking the look-elsewhere effect into account in
the range 110-150 GeV, this significance becomes 1.5 standard deviations. The
Standard Model Higgs boson is excluded at 95% confidence level in the mass

Search for a standard model Higgs boson in the H -> ZZ -> l(+)l(-) nu(nu)over-bar decay channel using 4.7 fb(-1) of root s=7 TeV data with the ATLAS detector
A search for a Standard Model Higgs boson decaying via H -> ZZ -> l(+)l(-) nu(nu) over bar, where l represents electrons or muons, is presented. It is based on proton-proton collision data at root s = 7 TeV, collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC during 2011 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb(-1). The data agree with the expected Standard Model backgrounds. Upper limits on the Higgs boson production cross section are derived for Higgs boson masses between 200 GeV and 600 GeV and the production of a Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass in the range 319-558 GeV is excluded at the 95% confidence level
Search for Magnetic Monopoles in s√=7 TeV pp Collisions with the ATLAS Detector
This Letter presents a search for magnetic monopoles with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider using an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb−1 of pp collisions recorded at a center-of-mass energy of s√=7 TeV. No event is found in the signal region, leading to an upper limit on the production cross section at 95% confidence level of 1.6/ϵ fb for Dirac magnetic monopoles with the minimum unit magnetic charge and with mass between 200 GeV and 1500 GeV, where ϵ is the monopole reconstruction efficiency. The efficiency ϵ is high and uniform in the fiducial region given by pseudorapidity |η|<1.37 and transverse kinetic energy 600–700<Ekinsinθ<1400 GeV. The minimum value of 700 GeV is for monopoles of mass 200 GeV, whereas the minimum value of 600 GeV is applicable for higher mass monopoles. Therefore, the upper limit on the production cross section at 95% confidence level is 2 fb in this fiducial region. Assuming the kinematic distributions from Drell-Yan pair production of spin-1/2 Dirac magnetic monopoles, the efficiency is in the range 1%–10%, leading to an upper limit on the cross section at 95% confidence level that varies from 145 fb to 16 fb for monopoles with mass between 200 GeV and 1200 GeV. This limit is weaker than the fiducial limit because most of these monopoles lie outside the fiducial region
boson production in Pb collisions at TeV measured with the ATLAS detector
The ATLAS Collaboration has measured the inclusive production of bosons
via their decays into electron and muon pairs in Pb collisions at
TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. The measurements are
made using data corresponding to integrated luminosities of 29.4 nb and
28.1 nb for and , respectively.
The results from the two channels are consistent and combined to obtain a cross
section times the branching ratio, integrated over the
rapidity region , of 139.8 4.8 (stat.) 6.2 (syst.)
3.8 (lumi.) nb. Differential cross sections are presented as functions of
the boson rapidity and transverse momentum, and compared with models based
on parton distributions both with and without nuclear corrections. The
centrality dependence of boson production in Pb collisions is measured
and analyzed within the framework of a standard Glauber model and the model's
extension for fluctuations of the underlying nucleon-nucleon scattering cross

Search for a Standard Model Higgs boson in the mass range 200-600 GeV in the H -> ZZ -> l(+)l(-)q(q)over-bar decay channel with the ATLAS detector
A search for a heavy Standard Model Higgs boson decaying via H -> ZZ -> l(+)l(-)q (q) over bar, where l = e or mu, is presented. The search uses a data set of pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb(-1) collected in 2011 by the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. No significant excess of events above the estimated background is found. Upper limits at 95% confidence level on the production cross section of a Higgs boson with a mass in the range between 200 and 600 GeV are derived. A Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass in the range 300 GeV <= m(H) 322 <= GeV or 353 GeV <= m(H) <= 410 GeV is excluded at 95% CL The corresponding expected exclusion range is 351 GeV <= m(H) <= 404 GeV at 95% CL
A search for tt¯ resonances with the ATLAS detector in 2.05 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at s√=7 TeV
A search for top quark pair resonances in final states containing at least one electron or muon has been performed with the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The search uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.05 fb−1, which was recorded in 2011 at a proton-proton centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No evidence for a resonance is found and limits are set on the production cross-section times branching ratio to tt¯ for narrow and wide resonances. For narrow Z′ bosons, the observed 95 % Bayesian credibility level limits range from 9.3 pb to 0.95 pb for masses in the range of m Z′=500 GeV to m Z′=1300 GeV. The corresponding excluded mass region for a leptophobic topcolour Z′ boson (Kaluza-Klein gluon excitation in the Randall-Sundrum model) is m Z′<880 GeV ( mgKK<1130 GeV )
Search for direct production of charginos and neutralinos in events with three leptons and missing transverse momentum in root s=7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector
A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with three electrons or muons and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is based on 4.7 fb(-1) of root s = 7 TeV proton-proton collision data delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector. Observations are consistent with Standard Model expectations in three signal regions that are either depleted or enriched in Z-boson decays. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in R-parity conserving phenomenological minimal supersymmetric models and in simplified models, significantly extending previous results
ATLAS search for new phenomena in dijet mass and angular distributions using pp collisions at s√=7 TeV
Mass and angular distributions of dijets produced in LHC proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy s√=7 TeV have been studied with the ATLAS detector using the full 2011 data set with an integrated luminosity of 4.8 fb−1. Dijet masses up to ~ 4.0 TeV have been probed. No resonance-like features have been observed in the dijet mass spectrum, and all angular distributions are consistent with the predictions of QCD. Exclusion limits on six hypotheses of new phenomena have been set at 95% CL in terms of mass or energy scale, as appropriate. These hypotheses include excited quarks below 2.83 TeV, colour octet scalars below 1.86 TeV, heavy W bosons below 1.68 TeV, string resonances below 3.61 TeV, quantum black holes with six extra space-time dimensions for quantum gravity scales below 4.11 TeV, and quark contact interactions below a compositeness scale of 7.6 TeV in a destructive interference scenario
