First Record Of Passiflora Pedata L. (passifloraceae) From MaranhĂŁo State, Northeastern Brazil
This study reports the first record of Passiflora pedata L. (Passifloraceae) from the state of Maranhão and from the Northeast Region of Brazil. The species was collected in the municipality of Buriticupu, which is located in a remnant of Amazon Forest in western Maranhão. This work adds to the knowledge of the flora of Maranhão and the distribution of P. pedata in the Brazilian Amazon. © 2016 Check List and Authors.12
Role of dynamical particle-vibration coupling in reconciliation of the puzzle for spherical proton emitters
It has been observed that decay rate for proton emission from
single particle state is systematically quenched compared with the prediction
of a one dimensional potential model although the same model successfully
accounts for measured decay rates from and states. We
reconcile this discrepancy by solving coupled-channels equations, taking into
account couplings between the proton motion and vibrational excitations of a
daughter nucleus. We apply the formalism to proton emitting nuclei
Re to show that there is a certain range of parameter set of the
excitation energy and the dynamical deformation parameter for the quadrupole
phonon excitation which reproduces simultaneously the experimental decay rates
from the 2, 3 and 1 states in these nuclei.Comment: RevTex, 12 pages, 4 eps figure
Current-Carrying Cosmic Strings in Scalar-Tensor Gravities
We study the modifications on the metric of an isolated self-gravitating
bosonic superconducting cosmic string in a scalar-tensor gravity in the
weak-field approximation. These modifications are induced by an arbitrary
coupling of a massless scalar field to the usual tensorial field in the
gravitational Lagrangian. The metric is derived by means of a matching at the
string radius with a most general static and cylindrically symmetric solution
of the Einstein-Maxwell-scalar field equations. We show that this metric
depends on five parameters which are related to the string's internal structure
and to the solution of the scalar field. We compare our results with those
obtained in the framework of General Relativity.Comment: 23 pages, no figures, LATEX fil
Gravitational field around a screwed superconducting cosmic string in scalar-tensor theories
We obtain the solution that corresponds to a screwed superconducting cosmic
string (SSCS) in the framework of a general scalar-tensor theory including
torsion. We investigate the metric of the SSCS in Brans-Dicke theory with
torsion and analyze the case without torsion. We show that in the case with
torsion the space-time background presents other properties different from that
in which torsion is absent. When the spin vanish, this torsion is a
-gradient and then it propagates outside of the string. We investigate
the effect of torsion on the gravitational force and on the geodesics of a
test-particle moving around the SSCS. The accretion of matter by wakes
formation when a SSCS moves with speed is investigated. We compare our
results with those obtained for cosmic strings in the framework of
scalar-tensor theory.Comment: 22 pages, LaTeX, presented at the "XXII - Encontro Nacional de Fisica

Mössbauer and magnetic study of Co x Fe3âx O4 nanoparticles
Magnetic nanoparticles of cobalt ferrites Co x Fe3âx O4 (xâ=â1 or 2) have been obtained either by mechanical milling or thermal treatment of pre-prepared layered double hydroxide carbonate x-LDHâCO3. Mechanical milling of the 1-LDHâCO3 leads to the large-scale preparation of nearly spherical nanoparticles of CoFe2O4, the size of which (5 to 20 nm) is controlled by the treatment time. Core-shell structure with surface spin-canting has been considered for the nanoparticles formed to explain the observed hysteresis loop shift (from ZFCâFC) in the magnetic properties. Annealing treatment of the 2-LDHâCO3 below 673 K results in the formation of nearly spherical pure Co2FeO4 nanoparticles. At 673 K and above, the LDH decomposition leads to the formation of a mixture of both spinels phases Co2FeO4 and CoFe2O4, the amount of the latter increases with annealing temperature. Unusually high magnetic hardness characterized by a 22 kOe coercive field at 1.8 K has been observed, which reflects the high intrinsic anisotropy for Co2FeO4
Wakes in Dilatonic Current-Carrying Cosmic Strings
In this work, we present the gravitational field generated by a cosmic string
carrying a timelike current in the scalar-tensor gravities. The mechanism of
formation and evolution of wakes is fully investigated in this framework. We
show explicitly that the inclusion of electromagnetic properties for the string
induces logarithmic divergences in the accretion problem.Comment: Revised version to be published in the Phys. Rev.
An Efficient Strategy for Electroreduction Reactor Outlet Fractioning into Valuable Products
In this work, two industrial dual-step pressure swing adsorption (PSA) processes were designed and simulated to obtain high-purity methane, CO2, and syngas from a gas effluent of a CO2 electroreduction reactor using different design configurations. Among the set of zeolites that was investigated using Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics simulations, NaX and MFI were the ones selected. The dual-PSA process for case study 1 is only capable of achieving a 90.5% methane purity with a 95.2% recovery. As for case study 2, methane is obtained with a 97.5% purity and 95.3% recovery. Both case studies can produce CO2 with high purity and recovery (>97 and 95%, respectively) and syngas with a H2/CO ratio above 4. Although case study 2 allows methane to be used as domestic gas, a much higher value for its energy consumption is observed compared to case study 1 (64.9 vs 29.8 W h molCH4-1).</p
Gravitational field around a time-like current-carrying screwed cosmic string in scalar-tensor theories
In this paper we obtain the space-time generated by a time-like
current-carrying superconducting screwed cosmic string(TCSCS). This
gravitational field is obtained in a modified scalar-tensor theory in the sense
that torsion is taken into account. We show that this solution is comptible
with a torsion field generated by the scalar field . The analysis of
gravitational effects of a TCSCS shows up that the torsion effects that appear
in the physical frame of Jordan-Fierz can be described in a geometric form
given by contorsion term plus a symmetric part which contains the scalar
gradient. As an important application of this solution, we consider the linear
perturbation method developed by Zel'dovich, investigate the accretion of cold
dark matter due to the formation of wakes when a TCSCS moves with speed and
discuss the role played by torsion. Our results are compared with those
obtained for cosmic strings in the framework of scalar-tensor theories without
taking torsion into account.Comment: 21 pages, no figures, Revised Version, presented at the "XXIV-

Theoretical description of deformed proton emitters: nonadiabatic coupled-channel method
The newly developed nonadiabatic method based on the coupled-channel
Schroedinger equation with Gamow states is used to study the phenomenon of
proton radioactivity. The new method, adopting the weak coupling regime of the
particle-plus-rotor model, allows for the inclusion of excitations in the
daughter nucleus. This can lead to rather different predictions for lifetimes
and branching ratios as compared to the standard adiabatic approximation
corresponding to the strong coupling scheme. Calculations are performed for
several experimentally seen, non-spherical nuclei beyond the proton dripline.
By comparing theory and experiment, we are able to characterize the angular
momentum content of the observed narrow resonance.Comment: 12 pages including 10 figure
