    Plan de mejoras técnicas para la manipulación y conservación de alimentos en el mercado municipal de durán (sector nave 2)

    El presente trabajo propone establecer sistemas de buenas prácticas de manipulación y conservación de alimentos, así como brindar las recomendaciones técnicas que ayuden a mejorar la comercialización de los mismos en los diferentes mercados del país. . Para lograr el objetivo se hizo un acercamiento con la M.I. Municipalidad del cantón Durán permitiendo iniciarse la evaluación de su situación inicial. Considerando la distribución y requerimientos sanitarios para el expendio de alimentos, se diseñó un plan de mejoras referente a una redistribución de los locales con el fin de evitar la contaminación cruzada; un plan de limpieza adecuado según el tipo de alimento que se comercializa, además se consideró el diseño sanitario tomando en cuenta los requerimientos de servicios como agua para limpieza y correcto funcionamiento del mercado; la propuesta incluye asimismo el diseño de una cámara de frio con el fin de alargar el tiempo de vida útil de los alimentos. Adicionalmente, se hicieron capacitaciones direccionadas a los comerciantes de diferentes grupos de alimentos con el fin de proponer aspectos técnicos que disminuyan las pérdidas por una manipulación incorrecta. Finalmente se realizó una estimación en cuanto al costo de implementación del proyecto

    The Delphi technique in ecology and biological conservation: Applications and guidelines

    1. Many areas of science, including conservation and environmental management, regularly require engaging stakeholders or experts to produce consensus or technical inputs. The Delphi technique is an iterative and anonymous participatory method used for gathering and evaluating such expert-based knowledge. 2. We outline the methodology of the Delphi technique and provide a taxonomy of its main variants. In addition, we refine the technique by providing suggestions to address common limitations (e.g. time consumption, attrition rate) in order tomake the method more suitable for application in ecology and conservation. 3. A comprehensive search for studies that have applied the Delphi technique in conservation and environmental management resulted in 36 papers. The Delphi technique has been applied to a range of issues, including developing decision support systems and predicting ecological impacts of climate change. 4. The papers reviewed suggest that the Delphi technique is an efficient, inclusive, systematic and structured approach that can be used to address complex issues. A major strength compared to other group-based techniques is the reduced influence of social pressures among respondents. 5. The Delphi technique is relatively little used and seems undervalued.     Linking NHS data for pediatric pharmacovigilance: Results of a Delphi survey

    Background: Adverse drug events are a major cause of patient safety incidents. Current systems of pharmacovigilance under-report adverse drug reactions (ADRs), especially in children, leading to delays in their identification. This is of particular concern, as children especially have an increased vulnerability toADRs. Objectives: The objective was to seek consensus among healthcare professionals (HCPs) about barriers and facilitators to the linkage of routinely collected health data for pediatric pharmacovigilance in Scotland. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted with a random sample of HCPs including nurses, pharmacists and doctors, working in primary or secondary care, in Scotland. Participants were identified from sampling frames of the target professionals such as an NHS workforce list for general practitioners and recruited by postal invitation. A total of 819 HCPs were invited to take part. Those agreeing to participate were given the option of completing the questionnaires online or as hard copy. Reminders were sent twice at a fortnightly interval. Questions content included description of professional role as well as testing for the willingness to support the proposed project and was informed by the Theoretical Domains Framework of Behavior Change (TDF) and earlier qualitative work. Three Delphi rounds were administered, including a first round for item generation. Results: 121 of those invited agreed to take part (15%). The first round of the Delphi study included 21 open questions and generated over a 1000 individual statements from 61 participants that returned the questionnaires (50.4%). These were rationalized to 149 items for the second round in which participants rated their views on the importance (or not) of each item on a 9-point Likert scale (strongly disagree - strongly agree). After the third round, there was consensus on items that focused on professional standards, and practical requirements, overall there was support for data linkage and a multi-professional approach. Conclusions: It would be acceptable to stakeholders to introduce a data linkage system for pharmacovigilance as long as identified concerns are addressed. Concerns included adherence to current professional, legal and ethical standards, as well resolving practical issues

    Equality, Equity, and Diversity: Educational Solutions in the Basque Country

    Public education is one of the greatest achievements of European countries during the twentieth century. While schooling systems neither exclusively form citizens, nor are they sufficient to alleviate all inequalities, education plays an increasingly important strategic role in relieving social problems and promoting the civic and ethical upbringing of our children. Researchers and professors at the UPV/EHU have had the privilege to design and implement important educational projects in conjunction with government of Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, which has the authority over education in its territory. This book presents the timely (in most cases since 2000) observations, research, and programs that have resulted from this cooperation. Our stress—in both our theoretical and analytical dimensions—has been on the importance of diversity, the promotion of social and human values, and respect for basic human rights.     Towards a framework for work package allocation for GSD

The impact of the trend in conventional software development can be found in many of its aspects. One of them is task or work package allocation. Task allocation was traditionally driven by resource competency and availability but GSD introduces new complexities to this process including time-zones differences, costs and cultural differences. In this work a report on the construction of a framework for work-package allocation within GSD projects is presented.     Usability, acceptability, and feasibility of two technology-based devices for mental health screening in perinatal care: A comparison of web versus app

    The use of Information and Communication Technologies (web pages and apps) in mental health has boosted. However, it is unknown which of these two devices can be better in terms of feasibility and acceptability. Our aim is to compare the feasibility, usability, and user satisfaction of two devices (web vs mobile application) of an online program for perinatal depression screening called HappyMom. In total, 348 and 175 perinatal women registered into HappyMom web and app version, respectively. The assessment protocol included different biopsychosocial evaluations (twice during pregnancy and thrice in the postpartum) and a satisfaction questionnaire. Results showed that a higher percentage of women in the web sample (27.3–51.1%) responded to each assessment compared to the app sample (9.1–53.1%). A smaller proportion of women in web sample never responded to any assessments. By contrast, the percentage of women who responded to all assessments was higher in app sample (longitudinal retention sample was 4.6% of web users and 9.1% of app users). In general, high satisfaction was found in both web and app users. Our result showed that online assessment methods are feasible and acceptable by perinatal women. However, dropout rates are a real problem that urge a solution that will be discussed further in the paper. Web and App devices present different advantages and limitations. The choice of one of them must be made taking into account the study’s objective, the sample characteristics, and the dissemination possibilities

    El proyecto Hilando Generaciones y Moda tiene como objetivo principal fomentar el intercambio y la convivencia intergeneracional entre jóvenes del ITESO y adultos mayores que acuden al Centro Tapatío de Atención al Adulto Mayor, ubicado en Guadalajara, Jalisco. La problemática que se busca resolver con este proyecto es la falta de interacción y comunicación entre estas dos generaciones, lo que puede llevar a la desconexión y aislamiento social de los adultos mayores, así como a una falta de perspectiva y comprensión por parte de los jóvenes sobre las experiencias y desafíos que enfrentan las personas mayores. El proyecto busca romper con estas barreras mediante la realización de actividades que promuevan la convivencia y el aprendizaje mutuo entre ambas generaciones, permitiendo la integración social y emocional de los adultos mayores, así como el desarrollo de habilidades sociales y empáticas en los jóvenes. A través de la interacción y el diálogo entre ambas generaciones, se espera generar un ambiente de respeto y valoración hacia la sabiduría y experiencia de los adultos mayores, así como una comprensión más profunda de las realidades sociales y culturales que enfrentan. A lo largo del semestre hicimos distintas actividades relacionadas con moda, que fueron propuestas por nosotros mismos. Estos talleres pensados en los adultos mayores nos dejarían productos que reflejaran la identidad de cada adulto y con los que después haremos una exposición final. Nuestras primeras actividades con los adultos fueron hacer un collage y un esqueleto exquisito, en el que hablarían sobre ellos y podríamos conocerlos mejor. Después tuvimos un taller de joyería en el CETAM, donde los adultos crearon dijes personalizados. La siguiente actividad fue un taller de creación y personalización de playeras. Para esta, los adultos nos visitaron en el ITESO, donde compartimos desayuno, baile y creatividad con las pinturas para personalizar cada playera. Este semestre colaboramos con Andrés Moreno, stylist y creador de Vintage Ceremony. Andrés nos asesoró en nuestro camino para nuestra siguiente actividad: una sesión de fotos que buscó resaltar la identidad de cada adulto mayor. En esta sesión de fotos contamos con patrocinio de peinado y maquillaje. Nuestra última actividad será la exposición final, donde mostraremos los resultados de todas las actividades, como prendas hechas por los alumnos de moda (con telas diseñadas por ellos, inspiradas en los adultos).ITESO, A.C
