Relation fracturing-morpholo- structural and them implications hydrogeologiques. Example of limestones cracks of the area of Chéria (NE Algeria)The area of Chéria is located at Algerian, with 45 kilometers in the South-west of the town of Tébessa. The area catchment to study extends on a surface from 720 km2, shelters more than 74300 inhabitants and characterized by a semi-arid climate. The area is formed primarily by limestones of Maestrichtien and Eocene which are fissured karstic and which constitute the aquiferous potential of the area. This study tries to conform the relations between morphology and the fracturing in limestones and to confront them with the flows of the tablecloths of the latter. Keywords: Chéria, Tébessa, limestone, morphology, fracturing

Accurate numerical modelling the GaAs MESFET current-voltage characteristics

    No full text
In this paper, we present a computing model of the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of a gallium arsenide Schottky barrier field effect transistor called GaAs MESFET. This physical model is based on the two-dimensional analysis of the Poisson equation in the active region under the gate. In this frame, we elaborated a simulation software based on analysis of expressions that we have previously set up [1-3], the obtained theoretical results are discussed and compared to the experimental ones

Influence of physical and geometrical parameters on electrical properties of short gate GaAs MESFETs

In the information sciences such as computer science, telecommunications, the treatment of signal or image transmission, the field effect components play an important role. In the frame of our work, we are interested in the study of the gallium arsenide short gate field effect transistor called GaAs MESFET. After analytical studying the component static characteristics, according to different operation regimes, a numerical simulation was worked out. The influence of technological dimensions (L, Z, a, and Nd) was studied. The obtained results allow us to determine optimal parameters of the devices from the viewpoint of their applications and specific use

The nucleus reuniens: a key node in the neurocircuitry of stress and depression

Uncorrected proofThe hippocampus and prefrontal cortex (PFC) are connected in a reciprocal manner: whereas the hippocampus projects directly to the PFC, a polysynaptic pathway that passes through the nucleus reuniens (RE) of the thalamus relays inputs from the PFC to the hippocampus. The present study demonstrates that lesioning and/or inactivation of the RE reduces coherence in the PFC-hippocampal pathway, provokes an antidepressant-like behavioral response in the forced swim test and prevents, but does not ameliorate, anhedonia in the chronic mild stress (CMS) model of depression. Additionally, RE lesioning before CMS abrogates the well-known neuromorphological and endocrine correlates of CMS. In summary, this work highlights the importance of the reciprocal connectivity between the hippocampus and PFC in the establishment of stress-induced brain pathology and suggests a role for the RE in promoting resilience to depressive illness.Greece for providing sertraline.
