ENVIRONMENTAL RISK AND AGRI-ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY DESIGN
Agricultural nonpoint pollution is inherently stochastic (e.g., due to weather). In theory, this randomness has implications for the choice and design of policy instruments. However, very few empirical studies have modeled natural variability. This paper investigates the importance of stochastic processes for the choice and design of alternative nonpoint instruments. Asymptotic Dynamics in Quantum Field Theory
A crucial element of scattering theory and the LSZ reduction formula is the
assumption that the coupling vanishes at large times. This is known not to hold
for the theories of the Standard Model and in general such asymptotic dynamics
is not well understood. We give a description of asymptotic dynamics in field
theories which incorporates the important features of weak convergence and
physical boundary conditions. Applications to theories with three and four
point interactions are presented and the results are shown to be completely

The perfect recovery? Interactive influence of perfectionism and spillover work tasks on changes in exhaustion and mood around a vacation
This study examined week-level changes in affective well-being among school teachers as they transitioned into and out of a 1-week vacation. In addition, we investigated the interactive influence of personality characteristics (specifically perfectionism) and spillover work activities during the vacation on changes in teachers' well-being. A sample of 224 teachers completed study measures across 7 consecutive weeks, spanning the period before, during, and after a midterm vacation (providing a total of 1,525 responses across the study period). Results obtained from discontinuous multilevel growth models revealed evidence of a vacation effect, indicated by significant reductions in emotional exhaustion, anxiety, and depressed mood from before to during the vacation. Across 4 working weeks following the vacation, exhaustion and negative mood exhibited a nonlinear pattern of gradual convergence back to prevacation levels. Teachers with a higher level of perfectionistic concerns experienced elevated working week levels of exhaustion, anxious mood, and depressed mood, followed by pronounced reductions in anxious and depressed mood as they transitioned into the vacation. However, a strongly beneficial effect of the vacation was only obtained by perfectionistic teachers who refrained from spillover work tasks during the vacation. This pattern of findings is consistent with a diathesis-stress model, in that the perfectionists' vulnerability was relatively dormant (or deactivated) during a respite from job demands. Our results may provide an explanation for why engaging in work-related activities during vacations has previously exhibited weak relationships with employees' recovery and well-being
Data Processing for NASA's TDRSS DAMA Channel
A concept for the addition of a Demand Assignment Multiple Access (DAMA) service to NASA's current Space Network (SN) is developed. Specifically, the design of a receiver for the DAMA channel is outlined. Also, an outline of the procedures taken to process the received service request is presented. The modifications to the (SN) system are minimal. The post reception processing is accomplished using standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) packages. The result is a random access system capable of receiving requests for service
Telemetry Data Collection from Oscar Satellite
This paper discusses the design, configuration, and operation of a satellite station built for the Center for Space Telemetering and Telecommunications Laboratory in the Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Engineering at New Mexico State University (NMSU). This satellite station consists of a computer-controlled antenna tracking system, 2m/70cm transceiver, satellite tracking software, and a demodulator. The satellite station receives satellite,telemetry, allows for voice communications, and will be used in future classes. Currently this satellite station is receiving telemetry from an amateur radio satellite, UoSAT-OSCAR-11. Amateur radio satellites are referred to as Orbiting Satellites Carrying Amateur Radio (OSCAR) satellites as discussed in the next section
