Track Lab: extensible data acquisition software for fast pixel detectors, online analysis and automation

Fast, incremental evolution of physics instrumentation raises the question of efficient software abstraction and transferability of algorithms across similar technologies. This contribution aims to provide an answer by introducing Track Lab, a modern data acquisition program focusing on extensibility and high performance. Shipping with documented API and more than 20 standard modules, Track Lab allows complex analysis pipelines to be constructed from simple, reusable building blocks. Thanks to multi-threaded infrastructure, data can be clustered, filtered, aggregated and plotted concurrently in real-time. In addition, full hardware support for Timepix2, Timepix3 pixel detectors and embedded photomultiplier systems enables such analysis to be carried out online during data acquisition. Repetitive procedures can be automated with support for motorized stages and X-ray tubes. Freely distributed on 7 popular operating systems and 2 CPU architectures, Track Lab is a versatile tool for high energy physics research.Comment: Proceedings of the 24th International Workshop on Radiation Imaging Detectors (IWORID 2023

Fast Real-Time Data Exchange among Distributed Control System of STATCOM Installation

    Get PDF
SGS-2021-021Power installations based on power converters in power transmission and power distribution require real-time control which is usually implementing using multiple control units. Therefore, very fast data exchange within constant sampling periods across whole control system is needed. This paper deals with the development and implementation of a specific communication protocol for an embedded modular control system. The communication protocol employs LVDS bus and it is designed for fast data exchange between master and slave control units. The protocol is used in control system REMCS of a STATCOM of 1.35MVA installed in distribution power grid of 22 kV

Ablation of single-crystalline cesium iodide by extreme ultraviolet capillary-discharge laser

    Get PDF
Extreme ultraviolet (XUV) capillary-discharge lasers (CDLs) are a suitable source for the efficient, clean ablation of ionic crystals, which are obviously difficult to ablate with conventional, long-wavelength lasers. In the present study, a single crystal of cesium iodide (CsI) was irradiated by multiple, focused 1.5-ns pulses of 46.9-nm radiation delivered from a compact XUV-CDL device operated at either 2-Hz or 3-Hz repetition rates. The ablation rates were determined from the depth of the craters produced by the accumulation of laser pulses. Langmuir probes were used to diagnose the plasma plume produced by the focused XUV-CDL beam. Both the electron density and electron temperature were sufficiently high to confirm that ablation was the key process in the observed CsI removal. Moreover, a CsI thin film on MgO substrate was prepared by XUV pulsed laser deposition; a fraction of the film was detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.Web of Science65421020

The theme of this bachelor's thesis is migration of people to Kladno in second the half of the 19th century. The main goal was to find out where had the people come from. Also a number of marriages the in given period was studied. The work is divided int two parts. In the first part the history is described along with the growth of Kladno from a village to an important city. A discovery of coal and a development of the steel inustry is described further on. Information about parish registers, migration and demography are also included. In the second part the data from the parish registers are processed studying the number of mariages in Kladno. In the conclusion the data of the migraion originand its numbers are evaluated. Information about the most represented employment is also included

    Internet Services Portal Analysis

Fast development of services in the area of internet technology requires continuous research and development of software products, including information portals. Absence of documentation often limits the development of software products and increases the costs of maintenance of the product. It is essential to maintain or prepare, in case it is absent, quality documentation of the software in use to continue in portal's controlled development. Subject of this work is the analysis of services of internet information portal focused on tourism, specifically camping. The goal of the paper is to focus in detail on all services offered at the portal and subsequently analyse their benefits for the portal's users. We introduce basic terminology of internet portals. We introduce rules of usability and accessibility of web pages and their application for portal services. We describe the method of reverse engineering, that I use for update of the documentation of the services. The analysis is split in two phases. In the first phase, each service is described in detail and service's representation at higher abstraction level is created via reverse engineering. In the second phase we carry out and review questionnaire research. The research focuses on usage of the services by a group of potential customers. Based on the research carried out we conclude on recommendations about changes in further operation of the system

    Internet Services Portal Analysis

Rychlý vývoj služeb v oblasti internetových technologií si žádá nepřetržitý rozvoj a modernizaci softwarových produktů včetně informačních portálů. V práci popíšu metodu zpětného inženýrství, kterou použiji k obnově návrhu a dokumentace služeb. Fast development of services in the area of internet technology requires continuous research and development of software products, including information portals. This thesis deals with social media and their use in sport. The main objective is in the first part to describe the concept of social media and their types, and consequently their use by individuals in sports, sports clubs and the organization of sporting events. In the second part is the main objective to determine whether physical educational associations and sports clubs in the Central Region using social media and if so, what kinds of social media. This finding is based on own research with a focus on certain factors that can usage of social media affect. The two main objectives are followed by two additional goals. The first is to compare the use of social media in the USA and the Czech Republic, the other is creation of social network page on Facebook for physical educational association Sokol Vysoký Újezd
