I n order to understand the processes engendered by different faunal elements in natural systems, and to plan how such systems should be managed and conserved, it is essential to start by determining the presence of those faunal elements, even large mammals. The entire range of North Anatolian Mountains provides suitable sheltering and feeding habitats for large mammals. The region stretching between Köroğlu Mountains west and Ilgaz Mountains east is one of the most important Anatolia’s wildlife corridors. We located and identified the species of large mammals in the Ilgaz Mountains, as well as specific habitats used by them. Field studies carried out in this region during April-August 2017 resulted in 180 records of nine different species of large mammals: Lepus europaeus, Ursus arctos, Canis lupus, Vulpes vulpes, Lynx lynx, Meles meles, Sus scrofa, Cervus elaphus and Capreolus capreolus. To obtain those records took 621 days of studying with camera traps. Among those species, European hare was the most frequently recorded herbivore 101 , and brown bear was the most frequently recorded carnivore 19 . Both hare and roe deer displayed clustered distribution patterns in the region. The analysis of our records showed that lynx, boar, and fox were strictly nocturnal; whereas hare and wolf were predominantly nocturnal. We also obtained records of the cubs of many large mammal species bear, lynx, boar, red deer, roe deer although we did not encounter any large mammal nests during the stud

In this study, heat transfer was investigated in open cell aluminum foams formed into a heat exchanger experimentally and numerically as two dimensional. The open cell aluminum foams with pore density of 10, 20, 30 PPI were used as the heat exchanger fins formed for a constant heat flow. Temperatures were measured using thermocouples located on several points in the X-Y planes of the aluminum foams especially on areas near the heaters. The temperature distribution for the whole area was obtained from the measured temperatures,. The graphs were plotted based on the difference between the surface temperatures and the inlet temperature (?T). In aditıon for each of the three heat exchanger pressure drop was found. Two dimensional heat transfer equations for the system were derived in the numerical solution. Then the obtained equations were discretized by using the central difference method and finally solved

A total of 42 mammal species were determined and new records reported for the first time in Çorum Province, Turkey. Field studies were carried between 2009-2010 and 2015-2016. One species of hedgehog and shrew, four bat species, six rodent species, roe deer and three carnivore species were recorded for the first time. We also expanded the known distribution and confirmed the presence of four rodent species (Spermophilus xanthophyrmnus, Microtus dogramaci, Mesocricetus brandti and Meriones tristrami) in the province. In addition, some information related to the distribution and the habitat associated to some taxon were provided in the study.A total of 42 mammal species were determined and new records reported for the first time in Çorum Province, Turkey. WOS: 000440027900005PubMed ID: 30047859Objective: Migrant seasonal agricultural workers who are employed in one of the most hazardous occupations in Turkey experience difficulties in accessing health-care services. The aim of this study is to investigate the living conditions, access to health-care services, and occupational health and safety conditions of migrant seasonal agricultural workers in the Cukurova region. Methods: Four hundred migrant seasonal agricultural workers were contacted in the county of Karata located in the province of Adana, Turkey. A four-section questionnaire was administered using face-to-face interview techniques. Results: The mean age of the participants was 32.812.4years. One-fourth of the participants did not have any social security coverage. Almost all had a monthly income below minimum wage, and 98% were living in tents. One-fifth experienced health problems in the last year, and 63% of them visited a health-care facility for diagnosis and treatment. About 3.3% of the participants sustained injuries at work, and only 23% of them visited a health-care facility. Conclusion: The findings of the study show that migrant seasonal agricultural workers in Turkey have insufficient working conditions, wages, accommodation facilities, nutrition opportunities, health conditions, and occupational health and safety conditions. This insufficiency negatively affects life qualities of the workers, utilization of health-care services, and their occupational health status and safety

P değerinin 0,1'in altında olduğu değişkenleri kullanarak yapılan lojistik regresyon analizi, artan yaşın depresif belirti riskini artırdığını göstermektedir. Sonuç:Seks işçileriyle ilgili çalışmamızda, sektörde çalışma süresi arttıkça ve mesleğe başlama yaşı düştükçe, depresif belirti oranları arttığı bulunmuştur. ( Sakarya Tıp Dergisi 2017, 7(2):85-91 )Objective:The aim of our study is to determine depression status of registered sex workers working in the Adana brothel. Material and Methods: A questionnaire consisting of 21 questions regarding sociodemographic characteristics and sexual history, and Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) that aimed identifying cases of depression were applied on participants. Results:BDI mean score was 15.90±11.67, and median was 16 (min=0, max=44). BDI score those over 17 was 48.1%. There was a significant relationship between age and incidence of depressive symptoms (p=0.001), and a statistically significant difference between education level and incidence of depressive symptoms were found in sex workers(p=0.01). Logistic regression analysis performed using variables that have p-value less than 0.1 show that increasing age causes increase ofrisk of depressive symptoms. Conclusion:In our study on sex workers, as the duration of working in the sector increased and the age of starting the profession decreased, rates of depressive symptoms increased.
