We relate Liouville/Toda CFT correlators on Riemann surfaces with boundaries and cross-cap states to supersymmetric observables in four-dimensional N=2 gauge theories. Our construction naturally involves four-dimensional theories with fields defined on different Z2_2 quotients of the sphere (hemisphere and projective space) but nevertheless interacting with each other. The six-dimensional origin is a Z2_2 quotient of the setup giving rise to the usual AGT correspondence. To test the correspondence, we work out the RP4^4 partition function of four-dimensional N=2 theories by combining a 3d lens space and a 4d hemisphere partition functions. The same technique reproduces known RP2^2 partition functions in a form that lets us easily check two-dimensional Seiberg-like dualities on this nonorientable space. As a bonus we work out boundary and cross-cap wavefunctions in Toda CFT.Comment: 56 pages. v2: Clarify discrete theta angle. v3: Published in JHEP; extra references. v4: Minor sign fix; extra reference

The objective of this chapter is to develop a reflection on mathematics education (ME) from a socio-political perspective, through the exploration of a parody of ME using episodes from a Mexican sitcom. Different vignettes from the sitcom, consisting of absurd, nonsensical dialogues and situations of a fictional mathematics classroom, will be described, analyzed and used as illustrations of socio-political issues previously explored in ME research (MER). These illustrations allow for a reflection on the public perception of ME as a social practice. Elements from Deleuze’s The Logic of Sense will be used to analyze the scenes. One of the conclusions is that this farcical depiction of the mathematics classroom constitutes both a critique and an acceptance of established ME practices, pointing towards an ambivalence in the way the general public perceives this school subject/social practice. Throughout the text, the value that this depiction of ME could have for suggesting new questions and insights for future research will be explored

TCC (graduação)- Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Campus Curitibanos. Os consórcios apresentaram elevado potencial para produção forrageira possibilitando sua recomendação para uso na região de Curitibanos-SC.The consortium of forage aims to increase the usage time of the pastures, the quality, quantity and consistency over long as possible, making it a species should not adversely affect the other in terms of competition. It is known that the most commonly used consortium in the southern region is the black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb) plus ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.), But diversification becomes necessary, therefore targeted studies to meet the demand for forage consortium has been gaining momentum on the national scene. Therefore the aim of this study was to evaluate different consortium alternatives and also the production of forage triticale in Santa Catarina plateau region, the experiment was conducted during the period June to October 2014 at the Experimental Farm Agricultural UFSC Campus Curitibanos, we assessed the forage accumulation and triticale production handled in different consortia with oats and cropping, as the Triticale + oats Esmeralda (TE) treatments, Triticale + Cabocla oats (TC) and Triticale Single (TS) managed at the height of 35 cm entrance and 10 cm residue, simulating pre and post-grazing. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications in a factorial 3x3. We used the feed Triticale Tpolo981 in monocrop and intercropped with oat cultivar IPR Cabocla and oat cultivar IPR Esmeralda. Was no difference in production between the consortia and the percentages of the morphological components in the cutting of pre and post grazing simulation. The production of total forage in the plots was of TC 8029.90 kg of MS.ha-1, TE 6548.40 kg of MS.ha-1 and TS 5930.21 kg of MS.ha-1. In the analysis of the residue the same trend was observed. The TC consortium was responsible for the higher rate of daily accumulation (TAcT) and stems accumulation rate (TAcC) who was 57 and 26.69 kg of MS.ha-1.day-1 respectively, there was no difference in the rate of leaf accumulation (TAcF). Consortia showed high potential for forage production enabling its recommendation for use in Curitibanos-SC region

    Performance-Sensitive Debt

This paper studies performance-sensitive debt (PSD), the class of debt obligations whose interest payments depend on some measure of the borrower’s performance. For example, step-up bonds compensate credit rating downgrades with higher interest rates, and reward credit rating upgrades with lower interest rates. In an endogenous default setting, we develop an algorithm to value PSD obligations allowing for general payment profiles, and obtain closed-form pricing formulas in important special cases, including step-up bonds. Moreover, we provide a criterion to compare different PSD obligations in terms of their efficiency. In particular, we find that step-up bonds lead to earlier default and lower the market value of the issuing firm’s equity, compared to fixed-coupon bonds of the same market value. Lastly, we analyze the implications of our results for the policy of credit-rating agencies

The pursuit of happiness is a desire that everyone has in life. The behavioral economics can help to identify constraints to achieve the true happiness. This study made an attempt to identify some possible determinants to explain the happiness of university professors in higher education institutions in the city of Passo Fundo/RS. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression models in seven different groups, classified into happiness by sex; happiness by marital status; happiness by age; happiness and money; happiness, sports and health; happiness, friendship, love relationships and sex life; and happiness, creativity and organization. The results show that money is not one of the major constraints to achieve happiness in this analysis group, that love relationships significantly increase the happiness of this study group, once sexual relationships don’t represent happiness increasing. It was also found that emotional / mental health of the participants has significance to turn them happier as creative tasks and planning actions to the future to reach the dreams and goals demonstrate to increase the happiness of this sample of university teachers

Indexación: Web of Science; ScieloTable grape (Vitis vinifera L.) quality includes the condition of both the berries and the rachis. In the present report, physiological parameters of Red Globe rachises from fully elongated inflorescences (RFEI) and from mature clusters were studied after storage at 0 or 20 °C for different durations. To understand changes in rachis physiology as a result of changes in temperature conditions and storage time, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) were measured. In addition, hydrogen peroxide content, membrane lipoperoxidation (TBARS), total phenolic compounds and antioxidant capacity (FRAP) were assayed. TBARS was higher in mature rachises than in RFEI. This parameter remained constant throughout storage, indicating a change presumably associated with ontogeny or senescence processes. Short-term storage (096 h) increased SOD, CAT and APX activities in RFEI, while in mature rachises, no changes were observed in enzyme activities or in hydrogen peroxide content. Longer cold storage (25 or 53 days at 0 °C) of mature rachises reduced CAT activity, but SOD and APX activities did not change under these conditions. At 0 h, the FRAP and total phenolic contents of mature rachises were three and 20 times higher than in immature rachises, respectively.
