    A Nonliearly Dispersive Fifth Order Integrable Equation and its Hierarchy

    In this paper, we study the properties of a nonlinearly dispersive integrable system of fifth order and its associated hierarchy. We describe a Lax representation for such a system which leads to two infinite series of conserved charges and two hierarchies of equations that share the same conserved charges. We construct two compatible Hamiltonian structures as well as their Casimir functionals. One of the structures has a single Casimir functional while the other has two. This allows us to extend the flows into negative order and clarifies the meaning of two different hierarchies of positive flows. We study the behavior of these systems under a hodograph transformation and show that they are related to the Kaup-Kupershmidt and the Sawada-Kotera equations under appropriate Miura transformations.     A Framework to Develop Urban Aerial Networks by Using a Digital Twin Approach

    The new concept of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and the emergent unmanned aerial vehicles are receiving more and more attention by several stakeholders for implementing new transport solutions. However, there are several issues to solve in order to implement successful UAM systems. Particularly, setting a suitable framework is central for including this new transportation system into the existing ones—both ground and aerial systems. Regulation and definition of aerial networks, but also the characterization of ground facilities (vertiports) to allow passengers and freight to access the services are among the most relevant issues to be discussed. To identify UAM transportation networks, suitably connected with ground transportation services, digital twin models could be adopted to support the modelling and simulation of existing—and expected—scenarios with constantly updated data for identifying solutions addressing the design and management of transport systems. In this perspective, a digital twin model applied to an existing urban context—the city of Bologna, in northern Italy—is presented in combination with a novel air transport network that includes the third dimension. The 3D Urban Air Network tries to satisfy the principle of linking origin/destination points by ensuring safe aerial paths and suitable aerial vehicle separations. It involves innovative dynamic links powered by a heuristic cost function. This work provides the initial framework to explore the integration of UAM services into realistic contexts, by avoiding the costs associated with flight simulations in reality.     It is pointed out that affine Lie algebras appear to be the natural mathematical structure underlying the notion of integrability for two-dimensional systems. Their role in the construction and classification of 2D integrable systems is discussed. The super- symmetric case will be particularly enphasized.     Urgent cesarean delivery following a spontaneous coronary artery dissection

    Objective: Rare disease Background: Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is the most common etiology of pregnancy-associated myocardial infarction. It is characterized by high rates of maternal morbidity and mortality and may cause fetal complications and death as well. Case Report: A 44-year-old female (G2P1) suffered from pregnancy-related spontaneous coronary artery dissection with dissection of distal left anterior descending coronary artery. The patient was hemodynamically stable and did not required revascularization, but signs of fetal distress were detected and thus an urgent cesarean delivery was performed. This emergency procedure was undertaken in the catheterization laboratory (Cath-Lab) right after coronary angiography, thanks to a multidisciplinary team. Health conditions of the newborn were good. The patient instead suffered from a recurrence of spontaneous coronary artery dissection 6 days later, complicated by left ventricular apical thrombus and epistenocardial pericarditis. The dissection self-healed in 1 month. Conclusions: Careful evaluation of pregnancy-related spontaneous coronary artery dissection is needed to assess and manage both maternal and fetal complications. Under specific circumstances, a cesarean delivery may be required and be even performed in the Cath-Lab after coronary catheterization

    Metastasectomy for colorectal pulmonary metastases: a survey among members of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

    Surgical management of pulmonary metastases in colorectal cancer patients is a debated topic. There is currently no consensus on this matter, which sparks considerable risk for international practice variation. The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) ran a survey to assess current clinical practices and to determine criteria for resection among ESTS members. All ESTS members were invited to complete an online questionnaire of 38 questions on current practice and management of pulmonary metastases in colorectal cancer patients. In total, 308 complete responses were received (response rate: 22%) from 62 countries. Most respondents consider that pulmonary metastasectomy for colorectal pulmonary metastases improves disease control (97%) and improves patients' survival (92%). Invasive mediastinal staging in case of suspicious hilar or mediastinal lymph nodes is indicated (82%). Wedge resection is the preferred type of resection for a peripheral metastasis (87%). Minimally invasive approach is the preferred approach (72%). For a centrally located colorectal pulmonary metastasis, the preferred form of treatment is a minimally invasive anatomical resection (56%). During metastasectomy, 67% of respondents perform mediastinal lymph node sampling or dissection. Routine chemotherapy is rarely or never given following metastasectomy (57% of respondents). This survey among the ESTS members underlines the change in practice of pulmonary metastasectomy with an increasing tendency in favour of minimally invasive metastasectomy and surgical resection is preferred over other types of local treatment. Criteria for resectability vary and controversy remains regarding lymph node assessment and the role of adjuvant treatment

    Topology Induced Spatial Bose-Einstein Condensation for Bosons on Star-Shaped Optical Networks

    New coherent states may be induced by pertinently engineering the topology of a network. As an example, we consider the properties of non-interacting bosons on a star network, which may be realized with a dilute atomic gas in a star-shaped deep optical lattice. The ground state is localized around the star center and it is macroscopically occupied below the Bose-Einstein condensation temperature T_c. We show that T_c depends only on the number of the star arms and on the Josephson energy of the bosonic Josephson junctions and that the non-condensate fraction is simply given by the reduced temperature T/T_c.Comment: 20 Pages, 5 Figure
