    Antecedentes:Los antiinfalmatorios no esteroideosson medicamentos muy utilizados y su intoleranciamas la posibilidad de reacción cruzada entreellos ocaciona problemas terapeuticos. El retiro delmercado del rofecoxib un COX 2 selectivo obliga ala búsqueda de otro fármaco que de la misma seguridad,es el motivo del trabajo.Objetivo: Conocer la tolerancia del celecoxib enpacientes intolerantes a AINEMetodos: Se seleccionaron 56 pacientes con intoleranciaa AINE a quienes se le realizó la prueba deprovocación controlada oral de acuerdo al método devives (modificado) con 200 mg de celecoxib, el primerdía placebo y 1/8,( 63,45 mg) el segundo día ¼ y½ (126,9 mg y 253,8 mg) y el tercer día 1 cápsula,(507,6 mg) con controles del pulso, y presión arterial.Se tomaron 30 sujetos sanos como grupo control.Resultados: Los 56 pacientes intolerantes aAINE toleraron el celecoxibConclusiónes: El celecoxib es un fármaco seguroen pacientes con intolerancia a AIN

    TiN-Ag as an antimicrobial and wear resistant coating

    Nosocomial infections are a major clinical concern, posing great risks for patients and rising costs for health services providers. This work aims at developing a hard, wear resistant coating, whose antimicrobial properties shall prevent the transmission of infections. TiN coatings deposited by Physical Vapour Deposition, PVD, with different Ag contents have been studied, especially in relation to the hardness and adhesion, their microstructure and morphology. The antimicrobial activity of the surfaces has been assessed against Staphylococcus epidermidis at different time frames, one of the most troublesome source of infections in trauma and orthopaedic surgeries. The electro-tribology properties of different silver contest have been studied. Finally, the coatings have been deposited on surgical acetabular reamers and wear resistance tests have been carried out against synthetic composite bone (simulating cortical and cancellous bone). Results have shown a good coating adhesion on stainless steel (both quantitatively in the scratch tests and qualitatively in the tests against synthetic composite bone), while the hardness decreased with higher Ag percentages. Furthermore, coatings exhibited antimicrobial activity against S.epidermidis, limited silver release, a remarkable wear resistance (vs. uncoated surgical acetabular reamers), while the electrical contact resistance provided valuable information about the evolution of friction and the status of the coating. Therefore TiN-Ag coatings present promising features for reducing the risk of infections, monitoring and extending cutting edge life and quality, and thus limiting damage to living tissues, e.g. necrosis.This work was supported by the Economic Development Agency of the Basque Government under the following grants: Elkartek program, project Frontiers-V ref.     Tribología de nuevas capas autolubricantes producidas mediante PVD

    Las capas de MoS2 depositadas mediante PVD tienen baja fricción en vacío pero se degradan con facilidad al aire, especialmente en presencia de humedad. Este trabajo describe el desarrollo de nuevas capas de MoS^ modificadas con WC. En ensayos de "bola sobre disco" a 0,75 GPa, las capas presentaron una fricción muy baja y estable (< 0,04) en vacío. Se obtuvo una durabilidad superior a 1 millón de ciclos, mostrando un desgaste de 1,3 X 10e-16 me3 /Nm, mejorado respecto a otras capas de MoS2. El coeficiente de fricción aumentó a 0,15 y la durabilidad disminuyó hasta 1 a 3 x 10e5 ciclos en aire hasta 70 % HR. El análisis superficial mostró ratios de S/Mo superiores a 1,2, con menos del 2 % de oxígeno, demostrando carácter lubricante.MoS2 coatings, deposited by PVD show a low friction under vacuum conditions, but degrade easily under atmospheric conditions. This work describes the development of a new type of MoSx, coating, modified with WC. These coatings presented a very low and stable friction coefficient lower than 0.04 when tested under vacuum at 0.75 GPa in a ball on disc tribometer. Durability was higher than 1 million wear cycles, showing a wear rate of 1.3 10e-16 m3 /Nm. When tested under atmospheric conditions and up to 70 % RH, friction increased to 0.15 and durability reached a lower value of up to 3 x 10e5 cycles.     Design of Corrosion Protective and Antistatic Hybrid Sol-Gel Coatings on 6XXX AlMgSi Alloys for Aerospace Application

    An inorganic–organic coating based on glycidyl-functionalized silica and zirconia was synthesized by sol-gel technology to protect three types of AlMgSi (6XXX series) alloys against corrosion in aerospace applications. Different parameters such as the solid content, the organic/inorganic ratio of the sols and the deposition conditions were studied with the aim to achieve a tradeoff between the corrosion protection, antistatic performance and low vacuum-induced outgassing. Those parameters directly influence the thickness and the density of the coatings, and therefore the barrier effect against corrosion and the contact electrical resistance, which are affected in opposite ways. To obtain a low contact electrical resistance, silver nanowires (NW) with a high aspect ratio were loaded in the sol-gel matrix with the aim to create a conductive path through the hybrid coating with a low concentration of NWs. The coatings were adapted for AA6063, AA6061 and AA6082, and they all showed an outstanding anti-corrosion performance in different artificial weathering tests, whereas electrochemical impedance spectroscopy permitted the identification of the most critical parameters affecting water uptake.     Corrosion Behavior of Titanium Dental Implants with Implantoplasty

    The procedure generally used to remove bacterial biofilm adhering to the surface of titanium on dental implants is implantoplasty. This treatment is based on the machining of the titanium surface to remove bacterial plaque. In this study, we used 60 grade 4 titanium implants and performed the implantoplasty protocol. Using X-ray diffraction, we determined the stresses accumulated in each of the as-received, machined and debris implants. The resistance to corrosion in open circuit and potentiodynamically in physiological medium has been determined, and the corrosion potentials and intensities have been determined. Tests have been carried out to determine ion release by ICP-MS at different immersion times. The results show that the corrosion resistance and the release of titanium ions into the medium are related to the accumulated energy or the degree of deformation. The titanium debris exhibit compressive residual stresses of −202 MPa, the implant treated with implantoplasty −120 MPa, and as-received −77 MPa, with their corrosion behavior resulting in corrosion rates of 0.501, 0.77, and 0.444 mm/year, respectively. Debris is the material with the worst corrosion resistance and the one that releases the most titanium ions to the physiological medium (15.3 ppb after 21 days vs. 7 ppb for as-received samples). Pitting has been observed on the surface of the debris released into the physiological environment. This behavior should be taken into account by clinicians for the good long-term behavior of implants with implantoplasty

    Solid lubricant behavior of MoS2 and WSe2-based nanocomposite coatings

    Tribological coatings made of MoS2 and WSe2 phases and their corresponding combinations with tungsten carbide (WC) were prepared by non-reactive magnetron sputtering of individual targets of similar composition. A comparative tribological analysis of these multiphase coatings was done in both ambient air (30–40% relative humidity, RH) and dry nitrogen (RH<7%) environments using the same tribometer and testing conditions. A nanostructural study using advanced transmission electron microscopy of the initial coatings and examination of the counterfaces after the friction test using different analytical tools helped to elucidate what governs the tribological behavior for each type of environment. This allowed conclusions to be made about the influence of the coating microstructure and composition on the tribological response.     Se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa con 32 ancianos pertenecientes a  dos Círculos de Abuelos del municipio Manzanillo. Mediante la aplicación de encuestas se evaluaron variables demográficas y el nivel de conocimientos que en materia de emergencias y desastres poseía el grupo estudiado. La mayor parte del universo desconocía las informaciones relacionadas con el tema. Con este fin se aplicó un programa de intervención que elevó el nivel de conocimiento para enfrentar emergencias y desastres. Se considera de gran importancia este método en la prevención de los desastres permitiendo una preparación de la familia para enfrentar los retos de la vida actual.It was performed an educative research with 32 elder persons who belonged to the elder houses in Manzanillo,through the application of surveys, there were evaluated some demographic variables and the level of knowledge regarding emergencies and disasters. The greatest part of the universe did not know about the information related to the topic with that purpose there was applied an intervention program that increase the level of knowledge to face emergencies and disasters. This method is of paramount importance to prevent disasters favouring the families preparedness to face the challenge of life nowadays
