Power law error growth in multi-hierarchical chaotic systems-a dynamical mechanism for finite prediction horizon

We propose a dynamical mechanism for a strictly finite prediction horizon, i.e. a scenatio of chaotic motion where asymptotically a more precise knowledge of the initial condition does note translate into a longer closeness of the forecast to the truth. For this, we propose a class of hierarchical dynamical systems which possess a scale dependent error growth rate in the form of a power law. Actually, this is motivated by and consistent with well known hierarchies of patterns in atmospheric dynamics. This scale dependent error growth rate in form of a power law translates in power law error growth over time instead of exponential error growth as in conventional chaotic systems. The consequence is a strictly finite prediction horizon, since in the limit of infinitesimal errors of initial conditions, the error growth rate diverges and hence additional accuracy is not translated into longer prediction times. By re-analyzing data of the National Center for Environmental Protect Global Forecast System, a weather prediction model, published by Harlim et al (2005 Phys. Rev. Lett. 94 228501) we show that such a power law error growth rate can indeed be found in numerical weather forecast models and estimate it average maximal prediction horizon to about 15 d

A interação entre professor e alunos, em relação a atividades práticas, são prazerosas, intuitivas, colaborativas e dinâmicas que proporcionam maior concentração , acompanhado claramente de resultados satisfatórios quanto a aprendizagemStudent learning is the main concern in the teaching bases, however there is no single way or method of teaching. As the methodological proposal in this project is interactive, the theoretical framework adopted is based on Vygotsky's cultural - historical theory. The project: Recycling Practices as a Methodology for Teaching and Learnin g Science, aims to develop student learning, through a methodology that involves practical activities of vertical content, with social interactions, highlighting the study on the awareness of the problem of waste disposal. The hypothesis of this work state s that an innovative method can enhance the teaching of science in school bases. The composition of the project was divided into three proposals for activities: the first through the construction of recycling boxes, made from cardboard trays, where student s in groups interacted socially for the construction. The second activity was the manufacture of recyclable paper from the reuse of other unused papers. At this stage the students tested their motor skills and especially teamwork with a lot of patience. Th e third planned activity consisted of the “walk for good”. The proposal was to carry out observations and actions for the collection of data in relation to the awareness of waste disposal by the community close to the school. This activity did not happen b ecause of prioritizing student health care due to the Covid pandemic. These three practical activities were able to develop motor skills, such as cognitive and decision making in face of the established problem. We observed in the first phase of the experi mental class, that the participation and interactions of the students, promoted a great learning, as the students were able to better learn the content according to the grades of the evaluation carried out. In the second phase, the students were already ex cited to go to the laboratory to carry out the recyclable paper manufacturing process. They were also able to work in a group where each member got their own space for participation. The students clearly demonstrated their willingness to allow themselves t o learn new knowledge through collaborative work. The results in the evaluations and execution of the experimental practice were exemplary. The feeling of the people who experienced the project was one of doubts since they did not know if the class would r eally work or not. This project brings an effective method for learning since the results shown prove to be promising in terms of student motivation. The interaction between teacher and students, in relation to practical activities, is pleasant, intuitive, collaborative and dynamic that provide greater concentration, clearly accompanied by satisfactory results in terms of learning

The proclamation of 2015’s Code of Civil Procedure made impactful transformations to the Brazilian civil procedure law, adhering to modern doctrinal propositions, one of those being the binding judicial precedent. Regarding this theme, this essay aims to shed light about the placement of the judgement of the embargoes of divergence in the system of judicial precedents recently integrated by the new legislation, given the important role played by this system in the promotion of legal certainty and unity in the interpretation of law. The study uses the deductive method as its methodological approach and is developed by the French method. The first part of the study is dedicated to a doctrinal analysis of the embargoes of divergence, upon an examination about its historical evolution, its characteristics, the internal jurisdiction in the Superior Courts for its judgement and, by the end of this part, the topics inherent to the suitability of the appeal. The second part studies the judicial precedents, examining its formation, its foremost attributes, its reception by the Code of Civil Procedure and, nearing its closure, the placement of the embargoes of divergence as a binding precedent. At the conclusion, it is deduced that the binding precedent formed from the judgement of the embargoes of divergence has superior relevance over the other judicial precedents established by Superior Courts

Nevertheless, there are few data regarding the use of novel psychoactive substances (NPS) among psychiatric patients. Aim of this multicentre survey is to investigate the consumption of a number of psychoactive substances in a young psychiatric sample. METHODS: Between December 2013 and September 2015, a questionnaire was administered in 10 Italian psychiatric care facilities to a sample of 671 patients, aged 18-26 (mean age 22.24; SD 2.87). RESULTS: About 8.2% of the sample declared to have used NPS at least once, and 2.2% had consumed NPS in the previous 3 months. The three psychiatric diagnoses most frequently associated with NPS use were bipolar disorder (23.1%), personality disorders (11.8%), and schizophrenia and related disorders (11.6%). In univariate regression analysis, bipolar disorder was positively associated with NPS consumption, an association that did not reach statistical significance in the multivariate analysis. CONCLUSIONS: The use of NPS in a young psychiatric population appears to be frequent, and probably still underestimated. Bipolar disorder shows an association with NPS use. Careful and constant monitoring and an accurate evaluation of possible clinical effects related to NPS use are necessary.Peer reviewedFinal Accepted Versio

Cell cycle-dependent phosphorylation of the 77 kDa echinoderm microtubule-associated protein (EMAP) in vivo and association with the p34(cdc2) kinase

The most abundant microtubule-associated protein in sea urchin eggs and embryos is the 77 kDa echinoderm microtubule-associated protein (EMAP), EMAP localizes to the mitotic spindle as well as the interphase microtubule array and is a likely target for a cell cycle-activated kinase, To determine if EMAP is phosphorylated in vivo, sea urchin eggs and embryos were metabolically labeled with (PO4)-P-32 and a monospecific antiserum was used to immunoprecipitate EMAP from P-32-labeled eggs and embryos, In this study, we demonstrate that the 77 kDa EMAP is phosphorylated in vivo by two distinct mechanisms, In the unfertilized egg, EMAP is constitutively phosphorylated on at least five serine residues, During the first cleavage division following fertilization, EMAP is phosphorylated with a cell cycle-dependent time course, As the embryo enters mitosis, EMAP phosphorylation increases, and as the embryo exits mitosis, phosphorylation decreases, During mitosis, EMAP is phosphorylated on 10 serine residues and two-dimensional phosphopeptide mapping reveals a mitosis-specific site of phosphorylation, At all stages of the cell cycle, a 33 kDa polypeptide copurifies with the 77 kDa EMAP, regardless of phosphorylation state, Antibodies against the cdc2 kinase were used to demonstrate that the 33 kDa polypeptide is the p34(cdc2) kinase. The p34(cdc2) kinase copurifies with the mitotic apparatus and immunostaining indicates that the p34(cdc2) kinase is concentrated at the spindle poles, Models for the interaction of the p34(cdc2) kinase and the 77 kDa EMAP are presented
