COMPETITIVE STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE ISO-9001 CERTIFICATION IN SMALL AND MEDIUM SUPPLY ENTERPRISES IN CIUDAD JUAREZ, CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO

Competitiveness is a predominant factor in today supply companies of the manufacturing industry. In this paper, the analysis shows that it took place in the region of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico in SMEs. To that end, a search for competitive strategies proposed by different authors in the literature of the subject. Besides performing a critical analysis of quality requirements that the customer deems necessary in its suppliers through a questionnaire created through Kano model focused on customer satisfaction. As a result of research results in a business strategy focused on obtaining the certification in quality management systems in the ISO international standard for small and medium businesses in the city. Also the result of this work demonstrates the degree of importance of having a certification in quality management system in the selection of suppliers for manufacturing companies in the region

Fifty Years of the Strategic Trade-Offs Model: In Memory and Honor of Wickham Skinner

In 1969, Professor Wickham Skinner, whom many consider as “the father of manufacturing strategy,” published a seminal paper entitled “Manufacturing-Missing Link in Corporate Strategy.” Among the many interesting insights outlined in that article, Skinner is particularly careful to explain the importance of acknowledging the existence of specific trade-offs in the design of production systems. For example, he warns that a failure on the part of executives to recognize the limitations and compromises that are inherent to all technology and human based systems will inevitably result in a diminished ability of firms to compete successfully in the marketplace. Fifty years after the publication of that influential paper, we reassess some of Professor Skinner\u27s contributions to the theory and practice of strategic operations management. In particular, we put forth the argument that strategic trade-offs in the operations of firms is a concept that is still-and will continue to be-important and relevant to practitioners worldwide

Educacion Dual: Su Analisis Y Desarrollo Del Modelo Aleman Para Su Implementacion En El Entorno Laboral

El presente artículo hace una investigación del sistema de educación dual alemán, así como su composición, implementación y resultados, así mismo presenta algunos casos de desarrollo en otros países y como este ha influenciado en algunos sistemas educativos alrededor del mundo. La educación es un factor clave para el desarrollo de todo país, pues juega un papel crítico en la productividad de sus mercados y en su crecimiento económico, debido a esto es de suma importancia los adecuados diseños de los modelos educativos desde su nivel más básico hasta su aspecto superior, así como el proporcionar una orientación vocacional funcional a todos aquellos que se encuentren próximos a entrar a la formación profesional. De esta manera se presenta la educación dual, un sistema probado a lo largo de los años en Alemania y otros países de Europa para formar a su fuerza laboral dentro de su campo de trabajo, interactuando en su entorno para aplicar lo aprendido. Este articulo analizará, mediante una investigación explicativa no experimental el desarrollo e implementación del sistema de educación dual alemán y como este ha impactado en el desempleo juvenil en su país natal, así como los casos registrados dentro de México y cuales han sido sus resultados a la fecha. Para esto se consultarán diversas fuentes de información que correspondan a casos mencionados en dichos países. El concepto de educación dual nace para dar respuesta a la necesidad de adecuar la Formación Profesional a las necesidades reales del mercado laboral, formando profesionales competentes dentro de su campo para que estos contribuyan de manera activa en las diferentes áreas de la industria ya sea pública o privada, siendo competentes y productivos en su especialidad, repercutiendo al mismo tiempo en la posible disminución del desempleo juvenil pues proporciona desde su inicio la experiencia que requieren los empleadores de todo aquel candidato a ocupar una posición dentro de su empresa. Iniciando con una revisión de las contribuciones de la educación dual este articulo presenta los inicios del concepto en sí, pasando por la exposición de este en diferentes países y los inicios de este en México, encontrándose estos limitados a la literatura, por lo que se exponen recomendaciones y conclusiones sobre su futura aplicación en este país. The present article makes an investigation of the German dual education system, as well as its composition, implementation and results, likewise it presents some cases of development in other countries and how this has influenced in some educational systems around the world. Education is a key factor for the development of every country, because it plays a critical role in the productivity of their markets and in their economic growth, because of this the appropriate designs of educational models from their most basic level to its superior aspect, as well as providing a functional vocational orientation to all those who are close to entering professional training. This way, dual education is presented, a system proven over the years in Germany and other European countries to train their workforce within their field of work, interacting in their environment to apply what they have learned. This article will analyze, through non-experimental explanatory research, the development and implementation of the German dual education system and how it has impacted on youth unemployment in their native country, as well as the cases registered within Mexico and what their results have been to the date. For this, several sources of information corresponding to cases mentioned in these countries will be consulted. The concept of dual education was born to respond to the need to adapt Vocational Training to the real needs of the labor market, forming competent professionals within their field so that they contribute actively in different areas of the industry, whether public or private. private, being competent and productive in their specialty, while having an impact on the possible decrease in youth unemployment since it provides from the beginning the experience required by the employers of all that candidate to occupy a position within their company. Starting with a review of the contributions of dual education this article presents the beginnings of the concept itself, going through the exhibition of this in different countries and the beginnings of this in Mexico, being these limited to literature, so they are exposed recommendations and conclusions about its future application in this country

Determinar Estrategias Para La Administración De Riesgos Laborales Y Su Impacto En La Competitividad De Las Empresas

To be a competitive company, it’s necessary that the quality has a high sense of importance for managers; some indicators such as market impact, the gradual increase in the interest of the academic community, the changes in its principles and practices and the organization of experts in the field, show the progress of this topic in organizations. Companies seek management systems that can be easily implemented, and in turn manage them effectively according to their different activities to achieve remain in an increasingly competitive environment; the key to effectively manage quality and risk prevention, is how to meet regulatory requirements and increasingly demanding needs of its main audiences: customers, society and workers, and at the same time allow them to be competitive. In this paper some authors suggest a number of tools for managing occupational hazards that can be used in any business, in order to identify different analysis methodologies and risk controls, based on them are consulted, develop a process that contributes to the continuous improvement of working environments for workers; it is also necessary to implement surveys in the manufacturing sector to corroborate the impact of occupational risk management in the competitiveness of enterprises

This essay focuses on Formal Communication (CF) in world class companies as well as tourism-related chains and franchises in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. The approach has been focused on how the communication plays an important role between the employees and the company. The perspective of the manuscript highlights the breadth of the phenomenon in formal relationships between actors and how far the field of manufacturing and touristic services differs from each other. Although CF is built in an organizational environment, it should also be noted if the cultural conditions for their understanding and its benefits are institutional or not

La competitividad y la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez

Este artículo ofrece un análisis global del término competitividad, desde diferentes planteamientos teóricos e instituciones internacionales. En su recorrido analiza, desde una visión crítica, la transmisión del concepto de competitividad del sector privado hacia el sector público, para proponer un debate sobre la viabilidad, alcances, limitaciones y posibles modificaciones de su uso en el sector educativo. La Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, por ser una organización con apoyo en los tres ámbitos de gobierno, se alinea a las regulaciones de diferentes entidades de vigilancia y transparencia de la aplicación de los recursos financieros; bajo esa lógica, responde a planteamientos de competitividad e indicadores de gestión. Ante ello, resulta relevante, teórica y empíricamente, reflexionar sobre el significado de la competitividad de nuestra universidad, así como el cumplimiento de su misión y visión, en un entorno donde convergen múltiples objetivos y ambigüedad. The present article approaches the German Dual Education System, its composition, implementation and results, by showing developed cases in other countries and its influence in the world´s educational systems. Education is a key factor for every country’s development, market productivity and economic growth, being the adequate design of their educational systems, from basic to higher levels, very important, providing functional vocational orientation before reaching professional formation. It is approached through an explicative non-experimental research, the Dual system´s development and impact in juvenile unemployment in its home country, as well in cases from Mexico and their results. This article responds to the Professional Formation adequation to labor market real needs, educating competent professionals for an active contribution in industry areas, public and private, bringing recommendations and conclusions about its future application in Mexico.El presente artículo aborda el sistema de educación dual alemán, su composición, implementación y resultados, presentando casos de desarrollo en otros países y su influencia en sistemas educativos del mundo.
