Karolína Jankovičová, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Monitoring of sublingual allergen immunotherapy using serum levels of allergen specific IgG antibodies The first aim of the thesis was to evaluate the clinical course of sublingual allergen immunotherapy (SLIT). Another aim was to assess the changes in antibody response over time and to compare the results of the Oralair treated group with the control group. Last but not least, the aim of the thesis was to evaluate the changes in the levels of specific IgG antibodies in relation to the clinical course of SLIT. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used for the clinical assessment of allergic symptoms. A commercially available ELISA method was used to determine sIgG4 against grass pollen allergens. sIgG1, sIgG2 and sIgG3 were determined by an in-house developed and validated ELISA. Based on the results, statistical analysis was performed. It was found that Oralair therapy was clinically effective from the first season of the treatment. The VAS results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the manifestation of allergic symptoms between the treatment and the control group. Dalším cílem bylo vyhodnotit změny protilátkové odpovědi v čase a porovnat výsledky souboru léčeného Oralairem s kontrolním souborem pacientů. V neposlední řadě si práce kladla za cíl zhodnotit změny hladin specifických IgG protilátek v souvislosti s klinickým průběhem SLIT. Pro klinické hodnocení alergických symptomů byla použita vizuální analogová škála (VAS). sIgG4 proti alergenům pylu trav byly stanoveny komerčně dostupnou ELISA metodou. sIgG1, sIgG2 a sIgG3 byly vyšetřeny vlastně vytvořenou a ověřenou ELISA. Na základě výsledků byla provedena statistická analýza. Bylo zjištěno, že terapie Oralairem byla klinicky účinná od první léčebné sezóny. Výsledky VAS ukázaly, že mezi soubory léčených a kontrolních pacientů existuje statisticky významný rozdíl projevů alergických příznaků. Development of the village Kozlovice from 19. century to the present

Předložená práce je zaměřena na hodnocení vývoje obce Kozlovice od 19. století do současnosti. Kozlovice jsou malým sídlem nacházejícím se v okrese Plzeň- jih nedaleko města Nepomuk. Cílem této práce je vystihnout vývoj a změny Kozlovic v čase a vyhodnotit a popsat, jaké změny zde byly zjištěny. Především byly Kozlovice hodnoceny z pohledu socioekonomického a to především dle struktury obyvatelstva a změn ve využití ploch. Změny byly hodnoceny pomocí dat získaných ze sčítání obyvatel mezi lety 1869 2011. Hodnocení využití ploch bylo porovnáváno pomocí císařských otisků a ortofotomap Plzeňského kraje za vybraná období.ObhájenoThis Bachelor's thesis is dealing with the development of village Kozlovice from the 19th Century to the present. Kozlovice is a small community located in south of the city of Pilsen, near the Nepomuk city. The aim of this Bachelor's work is to depict the development and changes in Kozlovice during time and also to evaluate and describe those discovered changes. The evaluation of Kozlovice was based on the socio-economic perspective, primarily the structure of the population and changes in land utilisation. The changes were evaluated by using data from the census list made in years 1869-2011. The evaluation of changes in land utilisation was achieved by comparing imperial imprints and orthophotomaps of the Pilsen Region from the same period

Libraries in social media from the viewpoint of readers/users

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe user's viewpoint on library activites in social media. It summarizes definition, history and characteristic of social networking sites and describes some of them (Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, YouTube). In next part it deals with chosen information sources about libraries in social media. It also describes social media activites of the Research Library in Hradec Králové. The practical part describes results from the implemented questionnaire survey in this library and itd results.Cílem bakalářské práce je zjištění uživatelského pohledu na působení knihoven na sociálních sítích. Teoretická část se zabývá internetovými sociálními sítěmi v obecném pojetí. Shrnuje jejich definici, historii a charakteristiku vybraných sítí (Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter a YouTube). Dále se věnuje vybrané literatuře na téma knihoven na sociálních sítích a charakteristice Studijní a vědecké knihovny v Hradci Králové, jejímu způsobu propagace a využívání sociálních sítí v ní. Praktická část je realizována průzkumem mezi uživateli Studijní a vědecké knihovny v Hradci Králové a je zaměřena na sociální síť Facebook. The issue of lifelong learning in the context of the profession of librarian and information professional in health care. Needs analysis and a proposal of the concept

Práce se zaměřuje na profesi knihovníka a informačního pracovníka ve zdravotnictví v kontextu problematiky celoživotního vzdělávání. Cílovou skupinou jsou pracovníci informačních institucí v síti veřejných informačních služeb ve zdravotnictví v České republice. Obsahová analýza českých a zahraničních materiálů a sociologický kvantitativní výzkum formou dotazníkového šetření ve zdravotnických informačních institucích ČR jsou metodami pro zpracování analýzy potřeb knihovníka a informačního pracovníka ve zdravotnictví v ČR. Výstupem je návrh konceptu celoživotního profesního vzdělávacího programu s názvem Kompetence lékařského (zdravotnického) knihovníka pro výkon knihovnicko-informační činnosti. Celoživotní vzdělávání lékařských knihovníků v návaznosti na Koncepci celoživotního vzdělávání knihovníků v ČR je procesem, který umožní dosažení potřebné kvalifikace (odborné znalosti a dovednosti, obecné dovednosti a měkké kompetence) pro vykonávání této odpovědné a náročné profese.The thesis focuses on the profession of librarian and information professional in health care in the context of lifelong learning. The target group are professionals of information institutions in the network of public health information services in the Czech Republic. Content analysis of Czech and foreign materials and sociological quantitative research carried out by questionnaires in the Czech Republic's health information institutions are methods for analysing the needs of the librarian and information specialist in the health care sector in the Czech Republic. The output is a proposal of the concept of a lifelong professional education program called Competencies of the medical librarian for the performance of library and information activities. Navigating institutional pressure in state-socialist and democratic regimes: The case of movement brontosaurus

Using the case of Movement Brontosaurus, a Czech organization founded in state socialist times, this article investigates how civic associations and nongovernmental organizations seeking to promote alternatives to the status quo respond to institutional pressures in different political and social contexts. The case shows that under state socialism, Brontosaurus appeared to conform to state mandates and societal expectations. However, its formal structure was decoupled from many activities to obscure its oppositional intent.After the transition to democracy, the organization was only able to maintain its place in society after it aligned its structure and practices with each other and openly expressed its alternative agenda. The findings demonstrate how social change and alternative lifestyle organizations vary their responses to institutional pressure in ways that enable them to realize their values and pursue their missions while accounting for the political and social contexts in which they are embedded

Profesní vzdělávání knihovníků a informačních pracovníků ve zdravotnictví

In this paper author introduce the need of pre- and postgradual and life-long learning of librarians and information specialists in healthcare in the Czech Republic. She characterizes the levels of qualification of librarians and describes public health and information services in healthcare. Author mentions various types of librarian´s associations and societies, which are delaing with professional development of medical librarians

Vláknina v müsli produktech

The main target of the thesis was to analyse the content of dietary fibre and lipid in 15 muesli samples, and to compare measured quanta with data on the product cover. The highest content of dietary fibre (11,2; 10,0 and 9,7 %) and soluble dietary fibre (5,84; 4,78 and 4,41%) has been stated in samples 11, 3, 7. The lowest content of dietary fibre (5,1 %) and soluble dietary fibre (0,17 and 0,19 %) has been stated in samples 4 and 5. The highest content of lipid has been measured in samples 3 and 13 (16,67 and 26,47 %). The lowest highest content of lipid has been measured in sample 4 (0,4 %). This was caused by the technology process in both cases. In all samples, except samples 5 and 13, the measured content of lipid was lower than the stated data on the product cover. The most marked contrast of data stated on the product cover and the measured value was 77,8 %, the lowest 7,1 % though. Then also sensory analysis has been done by 20 respondents (10 women and 10 men). They evaluated the visage of the cover when opened, aroma, crispness, swallowness, taste, attractiveness and the overall impress. Focusing on the overall impress, the best assessed sample by both men and women was sample 9: Chocolate wheat cereals. The worst assessed sample by both men and women was sample 6: Blueberries muesli with barleycorn
