Web Derive 01 - an online Art VR work by the Transeuntis Mundi Project

    Get PDF
The Transeuntis Mundi(TM) Project explores the complexity of the millennial human journey and the resulting cultural diversity. It investigates how it can be approached through artistic research and be converted into a nomadic creative practice in transmedia arts, using emerging technologies to generate an archive of human legacy. Compositions are based on field recordings in public spaces of multiple cities around the world, using 3D technology for sound and image, following Careri\u27s (2002) methodology of Walkscapes. The power of interactivity and immersion through 360o image and ambisonic sounds are crucial to insert the visitor in a global cultural experience. This transmedia work is designed to happen as a non-fictional VR application. Here we present the two main compositions of the project: Derive 01 and Web Derive 01

Starting from arguing the dissent regarding the generalized tendency to recognize the organization as an object of study of direction or management and the inconvenience that such an epistemic inconsistency represents in the pertinent development of the specialized disciplinary paradigm of the referred area of knowledge it is It raises the need to achieve greater objectivity in terms of clarification and precision of the matter In correspondence with what has been proposed and from a dialectical materialist perspective we proceed to the argumentative foundation of the role played in this respect by the dynamic management process object process as the genesis from which the management relationships emerge in their consequent expressions and derivative manifestations On the basis of such an assumption the leader directed and command subordination contradictions are connoted as an essential reference that supports the significance that given their distinctive specificity is given to the aforementioned interactions in accordance with the rationality that characterizes their evolutionary transitional becoming as relationships social production and managemen

CONTRACTUALISM AND THE STATE: HOBBES VERSUS LOCKE?

    Get PDF
The present study intends to propose a new reading on the theory of the social contract of Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) and John Locke (1632-1704). Thus, some questions will be raised that involve the points of contact between these two theo-ries, trying to analyze if there are more similarities than differences between the two authors and their contractualist prisms. In this sense, the work will be divided into three parts. In the first part, the classical and Middle Ages theories about the origin of the State will be presented to discuss the contractualist theories of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke, as well as the historical context of the two authors. After this, possible si-milarities between the two theories will be raised, allowing a new vision about the the-ory of John Locke. Finally, it is possible to affirm that John Locke's contractualist the-ory can be considered as non-liberal, approaching Thomas Hobbes's absolutist theory

A study on the period of compliance of national strategies is done in guantanamo (Environmental Development Strategy, Directive 26/95 of the Minister of the FAR, Guideline 158, Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution) and the potentialities of Natural and Traditional Medicine to contribute to sustainable local development from sensitive areas on the same results that were used to form a Master's thesis in Natural and Traditional Medicine impact. The reflections presented here are intended to help raise awareness for managers and the general public about the feasibility of this alternative for local and sustainable development of our communities

Antifungal activity of a novel chromene dimer

The activity on Aspergillus spp. growth and on ochratoxin A production of two novel chromene dimers (3) was evaluated. The results of the bioassays indicate that the chromene dimer 3a inhibited mycelia growth by approximately 50% (EC50) at 140.1 μmol L−1 for A. niger, 384.2 μmol L−1 for A. carbonarius, 69.1 μmol L−1 for A. alliaceus and 559.1 μmol L−1 for A. ochraceus. When applied at concentrations of 2 mmol L−1, 3a totally inhibited the growth of all Aspergillus spp. tested. Furthermore, ochratoxin A production by A. alliaceus was reduced by about 94% with a 200 μmol L−1 solution of this compound. A moderate inhibitory effect was observed for the analogous structure 3b on ochratoxin A production but not in mycelia growth. No inhibition was registered for compounds 2a and 2b, used as synthetic precursors of the dimeric species 3.Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) - SFRH/BD/ 11228/2002
