Relations between quality of image of God and mental health in parents of exceptional children
AbstractSince parents of exceptional children are exposed to the variety of child raising stressors that impact their psychological functioning, determining factors associated with psychological health of these individuals is an important research endeavour. The aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between image of God and mental health in parents of exceptional children. To accomplish the stated goal 168 parents of exceptional children were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Image of God Inventory (IOG, Lawrence, 1997) and Symptom Checklist90-R (SCL-90R, Deragotis et al., 1973) were administered on them. Analysis of data revealed that the magnitude of mental health can be predicted from the quality of images of God in parents of exceptional children. Moreover, data revealed that parents of exceptional children who had positive image of God were higher in mental health than parents of exceptional children who had a negative image of God. Authors concluded that positive image of God were associated with mental health in parents of exceptional children. Theoretical implication and practical application of the finding are discussed in the original paper
Relation Among Quality of Attachment, Paranoid Ideation and Somatization in College Students
AbstractThe aim of the current study was to investigate the relationship between quality of attachment with paranoid ideation and somatization in Tehran and Iran Medical Sciences Universities. To accomplish the stated goal 469 students from Tehran and Iran Medical Sciences Universities were selected by means of proportional sampling procedure. The Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins, 1996) and Scales of Paranoid Ideation and Somatization in Symptom Checklist90-Revised (Derogatis et al., 1973) were administered on them. Analysis of data using a multiple regression analysis revealed that the magnitude of paranoid ideation and somatization can be predicted from the quality of student's attachment. Moreover, data revealed that students who trusted on dependability of others were lower in Paranoid Ideation and somatization than students who had a anxious attachment. Authors concluded that a secure attachment (trust on dependability of others) was associated with lower paranoid ideation and somatization in college students who were studying in Medical Sciences Universities
Quality of Romantic Attachment, Forgiveness, and Altruism in Parents of Children with Special Needs and Parents of Regular School Children
Abstract The aim of the current study was to investigate the relationship between forgiveness, quality of romantic attachment with altruism in parents of children with special needs and regular school children. In this study, 275 individuals (144 parents of regular school children using cluster sampling and 131 parents of children with special needs using available sampling[procedure) were selected. In this study Enright forgiveness inventory (Enright, 1977), Adult Attachment Inventory (Hazen& Shaver, 1987), and altruism (Ashton & et al., 1998); were used. Analysis of data was performed by using multiple regression analysis. Results of the analysis revealed that in parents of regular school children there was a significant negative correlation between insecure attachment to spouse and cognitive, emotional and behavioral domain of forgiveness. Whereas in parents of exceptional children there was a significant negative correlation between insecure attachment to spouse and cognitive and behavioral dimensions of forgiveness. Multiple regression analysis revealed that in mothers of children with special needs and regular school children quality of attachment to the spouse was a significant variable in determining the forgiveness (cognitive, behavioral and emotional dimension of forgiveness). The quality of attachment is a significant variable in determining the magnitude of forgiveness. Keyword: forgiveness, quality of attachment to spouse, altruism, exceptional parents, regular school childrenâs mother.Â

Phenomenology of Lived Experience of Mothers of Children with Down Syndrome (DS)
The present study aimed at probing the phenomenology of lived experiences of mothers of children with Down syndrome. The study employed a qualitative approach on the based of phenomenological method. Sixteen participants were selected via a purposive sampling method from a population of mothers of students with Down syndrome in schools of children with special needs in Isfahan. The research instruments employed to collect data was the semi-structured interviewing technique. Interviews were listened to several times and their text was literally transcribed. To analyze the data, the Colaizzi method was used. After extracting the subjects and categorizing them, the findings included four main categories (impact on family, community status, parental concerns, and supportive networks) and 11 sub main themes. The relationship between these main themes and sub-themes was presented in the original article. Investigating the lived experiences of mothers of children with Down syndrome indicated that this group was affected by this phenomenon in a variety of ways, and these effects included positive and negative dimensions. The results of this research and similar studies can be used to develop therapeutic and educational interventions

God Concept Scaleand Scales of Obsessive-Compulsive and Phobic Anxiety of Symptoms Checklist-90R were administered on them. All ethical issues were observed in this study and the researchers declared no conflict of interests. Results: Multiple regression analysis of the data indicated that obsessive-compulsive behavior and phobic anxiety of university students can be predicted by the way they frame the concept of God. Moreover, the findings revealed that the male students who had a positive concept of God were lower in phobic anxiety (r=24; p<0.05). However, the female univesity students who had a positive concept of God were lower in obsessive-compulsive behavior (r=28; p<0.05).Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be concluded that obsessive-compulsive behavior and phobic anxiety of university students are subject to their concept of God.For downloading the full-text of this article please click here
The Effectiveness of Sensory Integration Exercises on Balance and Orientation of Students with Visual Impairment
The present study investigates the effectiveness of sensory integration exercises on balance and orientation of students with visual impairment. This study is a semi-open study with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population includes all blind students in special schools in Abadan and Khorramshahr in the academic year 2019â2020. Among the special schools, 30 students with visual impairment were selected through an available sample and randomly divided into an experimental group (n =15, 7 girls and 8 boys) and a control group (n =15). Measurement and data collection methods include Lincoln-Ozertsky motor growth test (OMDT), basketball and dribble throw test (BDTT), and Ayers sensory integration exercises (AESI). After determining validity and addressing weaknesses, the test was administered to the experimental groups. The experimental group then performed exercises for 12 sessions of 90 minutes each. SPSS 21 software, Kolmogorov-Smirnov -test, Levenâs test and analysis of covariance were used to analyze the data. The results showed that sensory integration exercises had a positive significant effect on the balance and orientation of students with visual impairment at the level (P <0/01). Sensory-motor integration exercises in this study can improve the orientation and balance of students with visual impairment
