Efficient spin control in high-quality-factor planar micro-cavities

A semiconductor microcavity embedding donor impurities and excited by a laser field is modelled. By including general decay and dephasing processes, and in particular cavity photon leakage, detailed simulations show that control over the spin dynamics is significally enhanced in high-quality-factor cavities, in which case picosecond laser pulses may produce spin-flip with high-fidelity final states.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

Environmental safety as a priority factor of international relations under the conditions of globalization: parity basis and principles of formation

The article examines prerequisites for the formation of the global environmental safety as an integral part of international relations and politics against the background of the long-term ecological crisis. Features of the global environmental safety and levels of its operation on a territorial basis are singled out and grounded. Attention is focused on transboundary character of the manifestation of most environmental threats and hazards, making it impossible for countries to overcome the consequences on their own. Emphasized are global threats and hazards that will determine areas of cooperation in the global environmental safety in the near future. Parity basis and principles of formation of global ecologically safe space are outlined. Considering the world experience of the implementation of forms and methods of economical use of natural resources and observance of safety of existence, directions of strategic planning of national environmental safety are suggested.Розкриваються передумови становлення глобальної екологічної безпеки як невід’ємної частини міжнародних відносин та політики на фоні довготривалої екологічної кризи. Виділяються та обґрунтовуються характерні ознаки глобальної екологічної безпеки та рівні її функціонування за територіальним принципом. Акцентується увага на транскордонності прояву більшості екологічних загроз та небезпек, що унеможливлює подолання наслідків державами самостійно. Виділено глобальні загрози та небезпеки, що визначатимуть у найближчій перспективі напрями співпраці у світовій екологічній безпеці. Окреслюються паритетні засади та принципи формування глобального екологобезпечного простору. Виходячи із світового досвіду форм і методів ощадливого використання природних ресурсів та дотримання безпеки існування, запропоновано напрями стратегічного планування національної екологічної безпеки

Photoproduction off the nucleon revisited: Evidence for a narrow N(1688) resonance?

Revised analysis of $\Sigma$ beam asymmetry for the $\eta$ photoproduction on the free proton reveals a structure at $W\sim 1.69$ GeV. Fit of the experimental data based on the E429 solution of the SAID partial wave analysis suggests a narrow ($\Gamma \leq 25$ MeV) resonance. Possible candidates are $P_{11}, P_{13}$, or $D_{13}$ resonances. The result is considered in conjunction with the recent evidence for a bump-like structure at $W\sim 1.67 - 1.68$ GeV in the quasi-free $\eta$ photoproduction on the neutron.Comment: Contribution to the Workshop on the Physics of the Excited Nucleons NSTAR2007, Bonn, Germany, Sept. 5 - 8 2007. The insolvency of enterprise: theoretical aspects

У статті висвітлено питання щодо виникнення різновидів причин неплатоспроможності та необхідності здійснення управління підприємством в період кризи. Узагальнено традиційні методи управління, а також запропоновано певні заходи для покращення впливу неплатоспроможності на економічну діяльність підприємства. У ході дослідження вдосконалено поняття «неплатоспроможність», узагальнено характеристику неплатоспроможності та її вплив на підприємство, а також виявлено наслідки впливу на економічну природу. Запропоновано перелік заходів щодо відновлення платоспроможності боржника.В статье освещены вопросы возникновения разновидностей причин неплатежеспособности и необходимости осуществления управления предприятием в период кризиса. Обобщены традиционные методы управления, а также предложены определенные меры для улучшения воздействия неплатежеспособности на экономическую деятельность предприятия. В процессе исследования усовершенствовано понятие «неплатежеспособность», обобщена характеристика неплатежеспособности и ее влияние на предприятие, а также выявлены последствия влияния на экономическую природу. Предложен перечень мероприятий по восстановлению платежеспособности должника.The article highlights the question of emergence a variety the reasons of insolvency and necessity realization of enterprise management in times of crisis. The traditional way of management are generalized, and some measures to improve the impact of insolvency on the economic of enterprise’s activity are proposed. In the course of the study the concept of «insolvency» is improved, the characteristics of insolvency and its impact on the enterprise are generalized, and also the effects of the economic nature are discovered. The list of measures on restoration of debtor’s insolvency are proposed
