The Destruction and Removal of Pulps

For several years a great deal of time has been devoted to studying, developing, and advocating better operative methods in root canal work. All efforts in this direction were made because of the belief that a large percentage of root end infections were due to careless operating, and it was hoped that with root canal operations carefully performed, the occurrence of root end infection would become markedly reduced. A review of some well kept records covering the past ten years confirms this belief. It now seems possible to do this work in those cases where it is distinctly indicated in an aseptic and thorough manner, free from after-infection insofar as radiographic and clinical. evidence is concerned
