Students in front of unemploymentThe number and intensity of social and economic changes that have been taking place in Poland bring about the situation of instability, unrest, growth of numerous problems, upsetting the feeling of security as well as adaptation problems of many Polish families. All these factors do influence the young people who start their adult life because they may have a substantial effect on their system of values, feeling of self-value, their own image or the level of fear. These questions may be particularly visible in the areas which are in danger of unemployment. Our research comprised the students of politology, pedagogics, information technology and technical education living in the district warmińsko-mazurski. Our aim was to determine whether the perception of unemployment (with regard to the closest members of family and the forecast as to one’s own situation after graduation) influence in any way some features of the personality of the examined: level of fear, image of one’s own, crisis of values). Assuming that the family can be treated as a system, we can expect that the situation of the nearest ones will exert influence on the other members of the family. According to the regulative concept of personality, there is a mutual impingement between an individual and the environment – any changes in one of these systems will effect the other system

Health behaviour in early and late adulthood – educational and behavioural aspectsNumerous transformations occurring in contemporary world concern also health and related behaviour. Increasing adaptive and preventive activities of individuals are becoming essential. New educational curricula introduce issues related to health, behaviour and healthy life styles. The research problem presented in the article concerns health behaviour of people in early (390 respondents) and late adulthood (117 respondents). The respondents were students of the Academy of Physical Education or pedagogy, and a fraction of elderly people consisted of students of the University of the Third Age (numbering 63). Our research aimed to compare prohealth activity among the respondents in order to answer the following questions: what the extent of their health activity is and whether health education is refl ected in behaviour. G. Dolińska’s Health Behaviour Survey and Inventory was employed. The research conducted confirmed the existence of significant differences among the respondents. The differences include both the intensity of behaviour and a predominance of certain types. The respondents exhibit an average level of health behaviour, although its increased intensity has been observed in late adulthood, especially among the students of the University of the Third Age. Also the students of health education yielded higher results than the remaining early adults

Tak więc jej uczestnicy mieli doskonałą okazję do podjęcia interesujących rozważań związanych z perspektywą rozwoju państwa, gospodarki i społeczeństwa w warunkach integracji europejskiej."(...

Abnormal glycosylation of cancer cells is considered a key factor of carcinogenesis related to growth, proliferation, migration and invasion of tumor cells. Many plant-based polyphenolic compounds reveal potential anti-cancer properties effecting cellular signaling systems. Herein, we assessed the effects of phenolic acid, p-coumaric acid and flavonoids such as kaempferol, astragalin or tiliroside on expression of selected cancer-related glycoforms and enzymes involved in their formation in AGS gastric cancer cells. The cells were treated with 80 and 160 µM of the compounds. RT-PCR, Western blotting and ELISA tests were performed to determine the influence of polyphenolics on analyzed factors. All the examined compounds inhibited the expression of MUC1, ST6GalNAcT2 and FUT4 mRNAs. C1GalT1, St3Gal-IV and FUT4 proteins as well as MUC1 domain, Tn and sialyl T antigen detected in cell lysates were also lowered. Both concentrations of kaempferol, astragalin and tiliroside also suppressed ppGalNAcT2 and C1GalT1 mRNAs. MUC1 cytoplasmic domain, sialyl Tn, T antigens in cell lysates and sialyl T in culture medium were inhibited only by kaempferol and tiliroside. Nuclear factor NF-κB mRNA expression decreased after treatment with both concentrations of kaempferol, astragalin and tiliroside. NF-κB protein expression was inhibited by kaempferol and tiliroside. The results indicate the rationality of application of examined polyphenolics as potential preventive agents against gastric cancer development

Trzeci obszar to prezentacja: ograniczeń inwestycyjnych związanych z naszymi zachowaniami i odczuciami - czyli uwarunkowania decyzji inwestycyjnych oraz kryteriów dokonywania pewnych wyborów. Czwarty obszar to różne sposoby pozyskania kapitału między innymi poprzez przygotowywanie się do wykonywania poszukiwanych w przyszłości zawodów, nabywanie nietypowych umiejętności, prowadzenie atrakcyjnych działalności lub ograniczanie obecnych kosztów
