In most basic words, Sentiment Analysis is utilized to comprehend the sentiments from a single word to thousands of pages of the document, which is conveyed by either one or a huge mass of people. This paper concentrates on sharing in the first place an introduction to Sentiment Analysis; Understanding the need of utilizing sentiment analysis and why it requires a huge amount of consideration. We here attempt to examine about how sentiment analysis can be performed and utilized by any organization to comprehend the opinions of a single individual or a vast mass of individuals. Without a doubt, with the progressing time new systems, tools, APIs are being produced and overseen. Additionally, we've attempted to exhibit the working of sentiment analysis with a case of a hotel survey, legitimizing the sentiments of the guests about the hotel. With the development in Internet and users, sentiment analysis can be utilized by the organization to decide the nature of their administration being offered, be that as it may, not just this in the up and coming sections of this paper different examples have been talked about which are altogether long far from the business point of view, where it is used

Three Mothers in Academia: Looking Inwards, Taking Stock, and Moving Forward

    Get PDF
Grounded in relational cultural theory (RCT) as an approach for developing women’s sense of self and maintaining connections with one another and with all women across racial, ethnic, and age divides, three mothers in the academy come together to restory our experiences of being and becoming mothers while navigating the higher educational landscape. We focus on critical incidents (Farrell) to create our collective autoethnography. Critical incidents are events that are unplanned and unanticipated and allow one to think about “what happened, why it happened and what else could have been done to reach their goals” (Farrell 3). Sharing our experiences means prioritizing the stories that are often overlooked in higher education institutions, where whiteness and male superiority abound. Specifically, we focus on what it means to navigate institutional expectations, given the mothering norms and responsibilities facing women of colour, who already exist on the margins. Coming together across racial, ethnic, and age divides in the academy led us to disclose specific events that challenged our professional and mothering responsibilities. Although we differ in terms of ethnicity, age, as well as academic and marital status, we still discussed the challenging nature of balancing home and academic lives both before and during the pandemic. We conclude with implications that focus on specific strategies for ourselves as well as others in the academy to support and nurture the development of mothers in academia

The paper explores variations in leverage ratios of industries grouped on the basis of business cycles – as growth industry, defensive industry and cyclical industry. Leverage is measured using Total debt to Net worth ratio, Long term debt to Net worth ratio and Short term debt to Net worth ratio. The debt ratios of industries are evaluated during two time phases– Phase I (2008/09 to 2012/13) and Phase II (2013/14 to 2017/18). The sample consists of 172 companies randomly selected from the largest 500 companies in India. The results suggest significant variations in the debt ratios of industries in each of the time phases. The results also show statistically significant variations in total and long-term debt ratios between Phase I and Phase II. The study is distinct as it gives a new insight into the capital structure decisions of industries using a novel industrial classification base

    Get PDF
This paper examines the Capital Structure of companies classified based on nationality over two-time phases as 2008-09 to 2012-13 and 2013-14 to 2017-18 covering ten years. For each category of companies, the mean of three gearing ratios i.e., Total debt to Net worth ratio, Long term debt to Net worth ratio and Short term debt to Net worth ratio is assessed. The analysis is based on a randomized sample of 206 companies obtained from BT-500 (December, 2017) which are subcategorized on the basis of nationality as Indian Domestic Companies, Indian MNCs operating abroad and Foreign MNCs operating in India. The findings reveal that Domestic Indian companies are more inclined towards debt relative to Indian MNCs and Foreign MNCs over both the time phases. This signifies the importance of the nationality factor which must be contemplated while planning Capital Structure. Statistically significant differences in total and long-term debt ratios of Domestic Indian Companies and Indian MNCs between Phase I and Phase II highlight the significance of the time factor which should also be kept in mind before taking leverage decisions. Overall, the paper suggests the corporations to have beady eyes on the institutional environment of geographical territories in which they operate as well as the time variations before planning their debt structure. The disparities in the debt ratios across nationality and time warrant an empirical investigation of the causes behind them, so examining the determinants of Capital Structure of DCs and MNCs would be an interesting area of research in the future

A rare case of ruptured caesarean scar pregnancy

Caesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy. The incidence is approximately 1:2000 pregnancies and has potentially life-threatening complications. Ours is a rare case of scar ectopic pregnancy who had taken medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kit while being unaware of her pregnancy location and presented with uterine rupture and hemoperitoneum. A 24-year-old female, P2L2A1, with previous two caesarean section (CS), presented with the complaint of bleeding per vaginum with acute pain abdomen and history of MTP kit intake at 7 weeks’ period of gestation (POG). She received symptomatic treatment at local hospital without any diagnosis being made but brought an ultrasound showing anterior myometrium defect with scar site hematoma and free fluid. She presented with moderate pallor, tachycardia and suprapubic tenderness. She was subsequently taken up for laparotomy in view of probable ruptured CSP. Intra-operatively, actively bleeding scar ectopic was seen with hemoperitoneum. The contents were scooped out and repair done with bilateral tubal ligation. She was resuscitated with adequate blood products. Embryo implantation in the region of a previous CS scar is rare and a delay in either diagnosis or treatment can have catastrophic complications like haemorrhage, rupture and significant maternal morbidity as seen in our case. Therefore, we should have a high index of suspicion of scar pregnancy especially in cases of previous CS so that timely intervention can be done preventing maternal morbidity. Unwarranted use of misoprostol can be deleterious when site of implantation is unknown, particularly in CSP

The paper presents a new closed-form expression for the fractional Fourier transform of generalized Triangular and Welch window functions. Fractional Fourier Transform (FrFT) is a parameterized transform having an adjustable transform parameter which makes it more flexible and superior over ordinary Fourier transform in several applications. It is an important tool used in signal processing for spectral analysis. The analysis of generalized Triangular and Welch window functions in fractional Fourier domain establishes a direct relationship between their FrFTs and fractional angle. Based on the mathematical model obtained, it is observed that adjustable spectral parameters of these functions can be obtained by modifying the fractional angle. The various values of spectral parameters such as half main-lobe width, side lobe fall-off rate and maximum side-lobe level with change in order of fractional Fourier transform are also obtained for these functions.U radu je prikazan novi izraz za zatvoreni oblik frakcijske Fourierove transformacije poopćene trokutaste i Welchove prozorske funkcije.

Objective:Placement of the supraglottic airway devices under direct vision has been shown to decrease the incidence of malposition in adults. This study was designed to compare the clinical performance of C-MAC guided and blind placement of i-gelÂź in paediatric patients. Methods:The present prospective, randomized controlled study was conducted on 102 paediatric patients scheduled to undergo elective infraumbilical surgeries under general anaesthesia. Patients were randomly divided into group “B” (blind) and group “C” (C-MAC) based on the technique used for placement of i-gelÂź. The primary objective of the study was to compare the incidence of malposition based on the fiberoptic bronchoscope (FOB) score of the glottic view. Oropharyngeal leak pressure (OPLP), hemodynamic parameters, and insertion characteristics (time taken to insert and the number of attempts) were secondary objectives. Categorical data were presented as ratio or percentage and continuous data were presented as mean ± standard deviation or median [95% confidence interval (CI)].Results:The incidence of malposition (Brimacombe score 1 or 2) was significantly lower in group C compared to group B (7.8% vs 49% respectively) (P < 0.001); implying a relative risk reduction of 2.42 (95% CI 1.72 to 3.40) with C-MAC. On FOB assessment, the median (interquartile range) Brimacombe score was significantly better in group C [4 (4-4)] compared to group B [3 (2-3)] (P < 0.001). The OPLP was significantly higher in group C compared to group B. Other insertion characteristics were comparable in both the study groups. Conclusion:Compared to blind placement, C-MAC guided placement ensures proper alignment of i-gelÂź with periglottic structures and proper functioning of i-gelÂź

Nitrogen Challenges and Opportunities for Agricultural and Environmental Science in India

    Get PDF
In the last six decades, the consumption of reactive nitrogen (Nr) in the form of fertilizer in India has been growing rapidly, whilst the nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) of cropping systems has been decreasing. These trends have led to increasing environmental losses of Nr, threatening the quality of air, soils, and fresh waters, and thereby endangering climate-stability, ecosystems, and human-health. Since it has been suggested that the fertilizer consumption of India may double by 2050, there is an urgent need for scientific research to support better nitrogen management in Indian agriculture. In order to share knowledge and to develop a joint vision, experts from the UK and India came together for a conference and workshop on “Challenges and Opportunities for Agricultural Nitrogen Science in India.” The meeting concluded with three core messages: (1) Soil stewardship is essential and legumes need to be planted in rotation with cereals to increase nitrogen fixation in areas of limited Nr availability. Synthetic symbioses and plastidic nitrogen fixation are possibly disruptive technologies, but their potential and implications must be considered. (2) Genetic diversity of crops and new technologies need to be shared and exploited to reduce N losses and support productive, sustainable agriculture livelihoods. Móring et al. Nitrogen Challenges and Opportunities (3) The use of leaf color sensing shows great potential to reduce nitrogen fertilizer use (by 10–15%). This, together with the usage of urease inhibitors in neem-coated urea, and better management of manure, urine, and crop residues, could result in a 20–25% improvement in NUE of India by 2030
