Use of diagnodent® for diagnosis of non-cavitated occlusal dentin caries

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of a laser fluorescence device for detection of occlusal caries in permanent teeth. One hundred and ninety-nine non-cavitated teeth from 26 patients aged 10 to 13 years were selected. After dental prophylaxis, two previously calibrated dentists examined the teeth. Visual inspection, radiographic examination and laser measurements were performed under standardized conditions. The validation method was cavity preparation with a small cone-shaped diamond bur, when the two examiners agreed about the presence of dentin caries. It was found that the laser detection method produced high values of sensitivity (0.93) and specificity (0.75) and a moderate positive predictive value (0.63). The laser device showed the lowest value of likelihood ratio (3.68). Kappa coefficient showed good repeatability for all methods. Although the laser device had an acceptable performance, this equipment should be used as an adjunct method to visual inspection to avoid false positive results

Analisa-se o constructo memorial das múltiplas identidades no cerne narrativo de O vendedor de passados (2004), de José Eduardo Agualusa, escritor angolano que converge a partir da narração de uma osga o fluxo de identidades em trânsito diante de uma memória colonizada. Percorre-se, para tanto, a linha tênue entre a ficção e a própria noção do real na narrativa diante de uma profusão de vozes que envolvem o leitor nesse rol de memórias “vividas” e inventadas. Faz-se dessa maneira um questionamento crítico e teórico diante dessa construção de identidades por uma memória processual, coletiva que imbrica o histórico e o ficcional no universo literário dessa vivência híbrida

The importance of literary education comprises the nucleus of this analysis, in which the aspects that involved the reading developed in the classroom of the work Mayombe (1980), by the Angolan Pepetela, in a third-year high school class are discussed. Therefore, the theoretical and methodological foundation of literary literacy was relevant so that it was possible to analyze the issues inherent to each stage of reading this work in the classroom.A importância da educação literária compreende o núcleo desta análise, na qual são discutidos os aspectos que envolveram a leitura desenvolvida em sala de aula da obra Mayombe (1980), do angolano Pepetela, em uma turma do terceiro ano do Ensino Médio. If $L$ is a Lie algebra acting on $A$ by derivations, then such an action determines an action of its universal enveloping algebra $U(L)$. In this case we say that $A$ is an algebra with derivation or an $L$-algebra. Here we study the differential $L$-identities of $A$ and the corresponding differential codimensions, $c_n^L (A)$, when $L$ is a finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebra. We give a complete characterization of the corresponding ideal of differential identities in case the sequence $c_n^L (A)$, $n=1,2,\dots$, is polynomially bounded. Along the way we determine up to PI-equivalence the only finite dimensional $L$-algebra of almost polynomial growth
