Outdoor education is a promising educational field that can support indoor education and provide benefits beyond the evidentknowledge. Outdoor and indoor education together can formulate the ground for an integrated learning. In Greece, like manycountries, outdoor education and its potential contribution to the learning process have not been clearly and intentionally testedyet, even though the country tends to follow a progressive educational philosophy. This research focuses on the subject ofmathematics and explores the connections between the existing philosophy and practices of mathematics education in Greece andoutdoor education theory and practice. Following the method of content analysis, the connections were identified through theexistence of basic outdoor education concepts in the mathematics textbooks of the last three grades of primary school. Althoughthe expectations, because of the lack of personal experiences, could not be high, the application of outdoor education seems to befar from impossible in Greece. It could rather flourish even without any changes in the books, when its potentialities are realizedby the teachers

Crude Oil Biodegradation in Arctic Tundra Ponds

The degradation of Prudhoe crude oil was studied in arctic tundra ponds. Contained subponds were treated with oil and/or oleophilic phosphate or inorganic phosphate fertilizers in an attempt to enhance the degradation of the oil by the indigenous microflora. Enumeration studies of water and sediment samples indicated that oil treatment alone did not increase numbers of total heterotrophic or oil-degrading bacteria over a short period (28 days). It was also shown that oil spilled years previously on 2 whole ponds at a high (10 l/m²) and a low dose (0.24 l/m²) did not alter the microflora quantitatively, except in a small core spilled with oil. Although oil alone seemed to exhibit neither stimulatory nor toxic effects, oleophilic phosphate, added weekly at a concentration of 0.1 mM, significantly stimulated the microflora in the presence or absence of oil. Since equal concentrations of inorganic phosphate failed to induce this effect, the stimulation was attributed to the hydrocarbon portion of the organic phosphate molecule. 14C-hydrocarbon mineralization studies demonstrated that the microflora would mineralize the saturate fraction of the oil before the polyaromatic fraction. It was concluded that oleophilic fertilizers may provide a useful tool to enhance the biodegradation of crude oil spilled on oligotrophic waters

The influence of the bona fides principle in tax law: an approach from the uruguayan case law

Although the Bona Fides principle may appear to be an ambiguous or inconclusive definition at first instance, examination of its correct applicability is considerably relevant when determining a standard of conduct for taxpayers. Indeed, it is peaceful to recognise the transversality the Bona Fides has among all fields of the legal system. However, the question of its integrated realisation in tax law remains unresolved. In this paper, the author recommends some categories to analyse the values that inspire the principle in practice. To achieve this, the settled case law of the Uruguayan Administrative Dispute Tribunal (TCA in Spanish) is accurately revised and compared with legal literature to attain some carefully thought-out conclusions.A pesar de que el Principio de Buena Fe pueda parecer, a primera vista, difuso o incompleto para el Derecho, el análisis de su correcta aplicación es de trascendental importancia para establecer un estándar de conducta a los contribuyentes. Particularmente, es pacífico el reconocimiento de la Buena Fe en todos los campos del sistema jurídico. No obstante, la cuestión de su adecuada realización en el Derecho Tributario permanece no resuelta.
