Algebraic Topology-Based Image Deformation : a Unified Model

In this paper, a new method for image deformation is presented. It is based upon decomposition of the deformation problem into basic physical laws. Unlike other methods that solve a differential or an energetic formulation of the physical laws involved, we encode the basic laws using computational algebraic topology. Conservative laws are translated into exact global values and constitutive laws are judiciously approximated. In order to illustrate the effectiveness of our model, we deal with both small- and large-scale deformation, utilizing elasticity theory and the viscous fluid model, respectively. The proposed approach is validated through a series of tests on optical flow estimation and image registration

Dempster-Shafer's Basic Probability Assignment Based on Fuzzy Membership Functions

In this paper, an image segmentation method based on Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is proposed. Basic probability assignment (bpa) is estimated in unsupervised way using pixels fuzzy membership degrees derived from image histogram. No assumption is made about the images data distribution. bpa is estimated at pixel level. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated on synthetic and real images

Test the effect of the Algerian dinar exchange rate reduction on the volume of imports During the period 1986-2015

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى اختبار أثر تخفيض قيمة الدينار الجزائري على حجم الواردات خلال الفترة الممتدة من 1986 إلى غاية 2015، وهذا بتطبيق مجموعة من أدوات الاقتصاد القياسي، كتحليل الاستقرارية واختبار التكامل المشترك باستعمال طريقة أنجل – غرانجر " Engel and Granger " بالاضافة إلى اختبار السببية. وقد خلصت هذه الدراسة إلى أنه هناك علاقة عكسية طويلة الاجل بين تغيرات سعر صرف الدولار مقابل الدينار وبين تغيرات حجم الواردات في الجزائر، وهذا ما يوافق النظرية الاقتصادية. أي أن تخفيض الدينار الجزائري كان له تأثير على حجم الواردات رغم ان هذا التأثير يعتبر طفيف.This study aims to test the impact of the devaluation of the Algerian dinar on the volume of imports during the period ( 1986-2015 ), and that the application of certain econometric tools, such as the stationary analysis, co-integration test using the method of " Engel and Granger " in addition to the causation test. This study has concluded that there is a long-term inverse relationship between changes in the dollar exchange rate against the dinar and the changes in the volume of imports in Algeria, and this is what economic theory agrees. Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm for Makespan Optimization in a Fog-Cloud Environment: Monitoring Application

Fog computing technology has emerged to handle a large amount of data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) terminals and cope with latency-sensitive application requests by allocating computation and storage resources at the edge of the Internet. In many IoT applications, the data acquisition procedures must apply the Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) to get real-time results. The principal goal of DAG scheduling is to reduce total completion time without breaking priority constraints by properly allocating tasks to processors and arranging task execution sequencing. In this paper, we propose a bandwidth-aware workflow allocation (BW-AWA) that schedules tasks by priority to the resource and optimizes the total execution time (Makespan) in the entire computing system. The task allocation process needs to consider the dependency between tasks. The proposed approach is tested with a monitoring application case study, and the results are compared to well-known approaches to demonstrate its effectiveness in optimizing the Makespan

The reality of banking governance in Algeria

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز الدور الهام لتطبيق مبادئ الحوكمة في القطاع المصرفي، الأمر الذي يؤدي إلى التقليل من المخاطر التي تتعرض لها المصارف، خاصة وأن التجارب الأخيرة في العالم أظهرت أن ضعف الحوكمة في النظم المصرفية يؤدي إلى انعكاسات خطيرة على الاقتصاديات القومية. ومن بين النتائج المتوصل عليها في هذه الدراسة  أن تفعيل مبادئ الحوكمة، والبدء بتطبيق قواعدها في الجهاز المصرفي الجزائري يعمل على التحوط قدر الامكان  من المخاطر التي تواجهه و يساهم في تطوير أداء الإدارة المصرفية ، مما ينعكس إيجابا على قرارات المستثمرين والقطاع المالي، وبالتالي تنشيط الاقتصاد الجزائري.This study aims to highlight the important role of applying the principles of governance in the banking sector, which reduces the risk to banks, especially since recent experiences in the world have shown that weak governance in banking systems has serious repercussions on national economies. Among the results achieved in this study is that the activation of the principles of governance and the introduction of its rules in the Algerian banking system are working to hedge as much as possible the risks facing them and contribute to the development of the performance of the banking administration, which will positively affect the decisions of investors and the financial sector and thus stimulate the Algerian economy

Evaluating the Use of Modern Teaching Strategies by Physical Education Instructors: A Field Study in High-Schools from Bordj-Bou-Arréridj

هدفت هذه الدراسة الى معرفة درجة توظيف اساتذة التربية البدنية بالطور الثانوي لمبادئ الاستراتيجيات الحديثة في التدريس وقد استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي، واشتملت عينة الدراسة على 28 أستاذا من الطور الثانوي لمدينة برج بوعريريج للسنة الدراسية 2020/2021  تم اختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية، وقد اعتمد الباحث على استمارة استبيان  تشمل 25 عبارة تمثل مبادئ الاستراتيجيات الحديثة في التدريس، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أنّ درجة توظيف أساتذة التربية البدنية بالطور الثانوي لمبادئ الاستراتيجيات الحديثة جاء بدرجة عالية، كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق في  درجة توظيف الاساتذة لهذه المبادئ تعزى لمتغيري المؤهل العلمي والخبرة المهنية، وأوصى الباحث بضرورة الاهتمام بتكوين الطلبة بمعاهد علوم وتقنيات النشاطات البدنية والرياضية لاستخدام أساليب التعلم الحديثة والتركيز عليها من خلال التربصات الميدانية  والأيام الدراسية، وتكثيف المفتشين من الندوات و التربصات بالنسبة للأساتذة الجدد لاستخدام أساليب التعلم الحديثة.This study aims at evaluating the level of use of modern teaching strategies by high-school physical education instructors. The author used a descriptive methodology on a randomly selected sample of 28 instructors working at high-schools located in Bordj-Bou-Arréridj in the 2020/2021 academic year. The participants responded to a survey of 25 questions that encompass the principles of modern teaching strategies. The study showed that high-school physical instructors incorporate significantly the modern strategies in their teaching. It also showed that there were no significant differences in the use of these strategies that are due to academic qualification and professional experience variables. The author emphasized the importance of training students in Physical Education Institutions and new instructors on the principles of modern teaching strategies through seminars, field studies and workshops
