    #Halal Culture on Instagram

Halal is a notion that applies to both objects and actions, and means permissible according to Islamic law. It may be most often associated with food and the rules of selecting, slaughtering, and cooking animals. In the globalized world, halal can be found in street corners of New York and beauty shops of Manila. In this study, we explore the cultural diversity of the concept, as revealed through social media, and specifically the way it is expressed by different populations around the world, and how it relates to their perception of (i) religious and (ii) governmental authority, and (iii) personal health. Here, we analyze two Instagram datasets, using Halal in Arabic (325,665 posts) and in English (1,004,445 posts), which provide a global view of major Muslim populations around the world. We find a great variety in the use of halal within Arabic, English, and Indonesian-speaking populations, with animal trade emphasized in first (making up 61% of the language's stream), food in second (80%), and cosmetics and supplements in third (70%). The commercialization of the term halal is a powerful signal of its detraction from its traditional roots. We find a complex social engagement around posts mentioning religious terms, such that when a food-related post is accompanied by a religious term, it on average gets more likes in English and Indonesian, but not in Arabic, indicating a potential shift out of its traditional moral framing

Study of the macroalgae and application of ecological evaluation index (EEI-c) in the coastal waters of Algeria

The diversity of macroalgae and evaluation of the Algerian coastal waters using EEI-c index were studied. Macroalgae were sampled at seven stations in summer 2019. Coverage data for the macroalgae at each site were analysed at species level. Eleven species have been identified and the results showed the prevalence of Cystoseira compressa and Ulva sp.. The least abundant species were Cladophora sp. and Corallina elongata. Classification of sites based on the cluster analysis shewed an agreement with the water degradation information. Based on the results, the EEI-c values were quite homogeneous over all the studied sites, and generally correspond to undisturbed states except for one site

Polychrome ceramics, artistic diagnosis and resulting ambiances in a Marinid Mosque, Algeria

The study and research described in this paper aims to reveal the unexplored aesthetical role of colors used for the ceramics in a mosque from the Marinid dynasty in Tlemcen, Algeria. The methodological approach consists firstly, of a formal analysis of the mosque’s artwork by describing its elements and composition and related principles.Secondly, the patterns and geometries are analyzed in-depth using artistic color concepts and laws of color contrast. The analysis demonstrates that the contrasts between bright, pure and dynamic colors provide luminosity, dynamism, rhythm, brightness and an optical mix. The color contrasts are also found to provide visual illusions of mass, volume or movement, as well as depth and relief that ultimately result in influencing the overall ambience of the mosque. The study thus enables the chromatic authenticity of this architectural heritage to be preserved by providing the necessary data for potential conservation, as well as providing a basis for innovative principles in expressing contemporary architecture

Study of Macroalgae Biodiversity in the western Algerian Coast, Tenes

During this study we evaluated the spatio-temporal distribution of macroalgae in the western Algerian coast. This work was carried out in the intertidal zone near the municipality of Tenes. We carried out a seasonal sampling from July 2016 to April 2017, at four different sites. Nine species were identified. The highest species richness was observed in summer and early autumn. The most abundant algae observed were Ulva et Cystoseira. Ulva alga achieved the highest recovery rate 60,33% in Spring. Laurencia obtusa and Spongomorpha arcta were the least abundant. Algae of economic interest have been observed in the coast of Tenes

Monitoring of phytoplankton on coast of Ténès (Algeria)

Marine phytoplankton consists of all the microalgae. Large blooms of some species occur regularly, sometimes forming colored waters. The species in question are in most cases harmless, but some of them produce toxins. At the beginning of the bathing season of 2016 (May and June), water samples were collected at the level of three sites on the coast of Ténès at a rate of twice a month. TRIX index was evaluated to assess the trophic status of coastal waters. It revealed an average state at the three sites during the study period. Moreover, the phytoplankton community of the coastal zone of Ténès has been observed minutely under the microscope. No planktonic blooms were recorded. The results showed toxic Pseudo-nitzschia during the month of May at two sites without exceeding the toxicity threshold

0222: The information provided by the monitoring of recovery during a treadmill test

IntroductionThe diagnosis of myocardial ischemia on exercise testing (ET) is typically based on ST segment during exercise and its recovery. However, according to recent studies attention should be paid on exercise capacity but also the heart rate profile, particularly its recovery in the first minute with a diagnostic and especially prognostic value. The importance of these variables is more pronounced in women posing positive diagnostic problem in the ET.MethodsThis study included 350 women with type 2 diabetes (TD2), with mean age of 58.84 years. It consisted of practicing a maximum treadmill test (TT) according to the Bruce protocol.ResultsAfter a positive TT, coronary angiography was proposed to135 cases. The results are in favor of a truly positive TT in 35 patients (25.62%), in 33.51% it is infiltrations and in 40.31% coronaries appear healthy. Univariate analyses according to the variables of the TT, the ones who have a statistically significant positive correlation, are: HRR 1’ (p=0.008), the reservation of HR (HR max – HR rest) (p=0.02), and recovery time of ST depression (p=0.006). Multivariate analysis in confrontation with coronary angiography, those among others predicts significant coronary lesions: -amplitude ST segment (p=107 5) and its recovery time (p=0.08) -the HRC 1 ’(p=0.02), the global recovery time (p=0.02). The prediction performance of coronary anomaly is 87.88%.ConclusionWomen in the interpretation of ST shift can lead to misinterpretation and necessitate the study of parameters which include those in recovery. This work by using exercise testing may therefore allow stratification of coronary risk and especially to avoid the practice of coronary angiography after weakly positive effort
