    Analysis and Modeling of Customer Requirements Management for Repair Service Companies

    Većina današnjih tvrtki radi u natjecateljskom okruženju, što vodi ka potrebi povećanja konkurentne pozicije na tržištu. Da bi tvrtke bile konkurentne na tržištu moraju nužno optimizirati svoje unutarnje procese. Ta optimizacija zahtijeva poslovne modele koji predstavljaju strukturu poslovanja koja omogućava organizacijama analizu i simulaciju promjena prije implementacije. U radu je analizirana problematika upravljanja zahtjevima za servisom u servisnom centru te su primjenom odgovarajućih UML (engl. Unified Modeling Language) dijagrama prikazani poslovni procesi upravljanja tim zahtjevima. Razvijena je web aplikacija koja omogućava cjelokupni proces vođenja termina i evidencija lokacija predviđenih za servisere koji odlaze do krajnjeg korisnika. Predloženi način upravljanja zahtjevima u servisnom centru omogućava povećanje kvalitete usluge servisera i minimiziranje troškova pružanja usluge.Most of today's businesses operate in a competitive environment, leading to the need to increase their competitive position in the market. This optimization requires business models that represent a business structure that enables organizations to analyze and simulate changes before implementation. The paper analyzes the problems of managing service requests in a service center and presents the business processes of managing these requests using the appropriate Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams. A web application has been developed that enables the complete process of keeping dates and records of locations intended for end-user repairers. The proposed method of managing requests in a service center allows to increase the quality of service of the servicer and to minimize the cost of providing the service

    Pojavnost pčelinjih virusa u pčelinjacima Koprivničko-križevačke županije u Hrvatskoj.

    Viral honey bee diseases are an increasing beekeeping problem throughout the world because they can cause great economic losses and a reduction in biodiversity in natural ecosystems. Therefore, it is important to promptly identify the causal pathogens of honey bee diseases in order to develop appropriate measures and procedures for their prevention and eradication. In this paper the prevalence and distribution were determined of the five economically most important honey bee viruses in the Koprivnica-Križevci district by Reversetranscriptase PCR (RT-PCR). In addition, the honey bee samples were examined for the presence of the mite Varroa destructor. In the investigated apiaries the following viruses were identified: Deformed wing virus (DWV) with 100%, Sacbrood bee virus (SBV) with 70%, Black queen virus (BQCV) with 20%, Acute bee paralysis virus (ABPV) with 10% and Chronic bee paralysis virus (CBPV) with 10% incidence. Multiple infections of the examined honey bee colonies were found in 80% of samples.Virusne bolesti medonosne pčele predstavljaju ozbiljan problem u pčelarstvu diljem svijeta, jer uzrokuju velike gospodarske štete i smanjenje bioraznolikosti prirodnih ekosustava. Stoga je bitno pravovremeno utvrditi uzročnike bolesti kako bi se mogle poduzeti odgovarajuće mjere i postupci za sprečavanje pojave i njihovo suzbijanje. U ovom je radu lančanom reakcijom polimerazom uz prethodnu reverznu transkripciju utvrđena prisutnost i rasprostranjenost pet najznačajnijih pčelinjih virusa na području Koprivničko-križevačke županije. Dodatno su uzorci pčela pretraženi na prisutnost grinje Varroa destructor. Na pretraženim uzorcima pčela utvrđena je RNA virusa izobličenih krila u 100%, virusa mješinastog legla u 70%, virusa crnih matičnjaka u 20%, virusa akutne pčelinje paralize u 10% i virusa kronične pčelinje paralize u 10% uzoraka. Višestruke mješovite infekcije u pretraženim pčelinjim zajednicama utvrđene su u 80% uzoraka

    msBiodat analysis tool, big data analysis for high-throughput experiments

    Background Mass spectrometry (MS) are a group of a high-throughput techniques used to increase knowledge about biomolecules. They produce a large amount of data which is presented as a list of hundreds or thousands of proteins. Filtering those data efficiently is the first step for extracting biologically relevant information. The filtering may increase interest by merging previous data with the data obtained from public databases, resulting in an accurate list of proteins which meet the predetermined conditions. Results In this article we present msBiodat Analysis Tool, a web-based application thought to approach proteomics to the big data analysis. With this tool, researchers can easily select the most relevant information from their MS experiments using an easy-to-use web interface. An interesting feature of msBiodat analysis tool is the possibility of selecting proteins by its annotation on Gene Ontology using its Gene Id, ensembl or UniProt codes. Conclusion The msBiodat analysis tool is a web-based application that allows researchers with any programming experience to deal with efficient database querying advantages. Its versatility and user-friendly interface makes easy to perform fast and accurate data screening by using complex queries. Once the analysis is finished, the result is delivered by e-mail. msBiodat analysis tool is freely available at http://msbiodata.irb.h

    Sex-Related Differences in Oxidant and Antioxidant Profiles of Murine Kidney and Brain: A Focus on Sirt3-Mediated Regulation

    Background: Sirt3 is a mitochondrial deacetylase with an important role in maintainance of cellular redox and metabolic homeostasis and mitochondrial function. As growing evidence support the existence of sex-specific responses to metabolic and oxidative stress, we aimed to investigate sex- and organ-specific effects of Sirt3 loss. Materials and methods: Expression of Sirt3, PGC-1a, CuZnSOD, MnSOD and Cat proteins in kidneys and brains of Sirt3-wild type (Sirt3 WT) and Sirt3-knockout (Sirt3 KO) mice was assessed by Western blotting. Protein carbonylation and lipid peroxidation levels were measured using ELISA and fluorometric assays, respectively. SOD and Cat activities were determined using standard enzymatic assays. Results: Significant sex- and organ- specific differences in response to Sirt3 loss were detected. Sirt3 knockout affected kidneys more than brain tissue, with females showing lower levels PC and LPO. In kidneys, female KO showed higher MnSOD, but lower CuZnSOD and Cat activity compared to males. In brains, WT females show higher activities of these enzymes than males, suggesting a sex-specific protection mechanism, but female KO brains show a larger decrease in these parameters. Conclusion: Our study provides comprehensive insights into the complex interplay of Sirt3, oxidative stress, and antioxidant defenses in murine kidney and brain. The observed differences between the two organs and the impact of sex highlight the need for studying Sirt3 function in diverse physiological contexts. The tissue-specific responses and sex-related variations underscore the importance of considering these factors in the development of therapeutic strategies targeting mitochondrial function and redox homeostasis

    Structural Characterization of FAU Gene/Protein from Marine Sponge Suberites domuncula

    Finkel-Biskis-Reilly murine sarcoma virus (FBR-MuSV) ubiquitously expressed (FAU) gene is down-regulated in human prostate, breast and ovarian cancers. Moreover, its dysregulation is associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer. Sponges (Porifera) are animals without tissues which branched off first from the common ancestor of all metazoans. A large majority of genes implicated in human cancers have their homologues in the sponge genome. Our study suggests that FAU gene from the sponge Suberites domuncula reflects characteristics of the FAU gene from the metazoan ancestor, which have changed only slightly during the course of animal evolution. We found pro-apoptotic activity of sponge FAU protein. The same as its human homologue, sponge FAU increases apoptosis in human HEK293T cells. This indicates that the biological functions of FAU, usually associated with “higher” metazoans, particularly in cancer etiology, possess a biochemical background established early in metazoan evolution. The ancestor of all animals possibly possessed FAU protein with the structure and function similar to evolutionarily more recent versions of the protein, even before the appearance of true tissues and the origin of tumors and metastasis. It provides an opportunity to use pre-bilaterian animals as a simpler model for studying complex interactions in human cancerogenesis
