    Many patrimonial institutions of private law, in the context of the matrimonial property regimes, receive modifications and adaptations, both in consideration that the legal relationship is imputed not to the single subject, but to the couple (firstly only the married couple, then also the civil partners and the unmarried couples), and in consideration of the different ratio underlying within this field. The aim of the research is to examine, also from a comparative perspective, the main institutions, principles, categories of general private law (such as, among others: various kinds of joint tenancy, joint obligations, legal representation, the principle of privity of contracts, the different kinds of invalidity of legal deeds, the ways of acquiring property, the financial responsibility) to investigate how these institutions assume a peculiar physiognomy in the context of matrimonial property. Also the Case law has reformulated the shape of many institutions and rules about contracts, gifts, the unjustified enrichment, ownership, possession, when it had to apply them to married and unmarried couples. Therefore the presence of family interests (also de facto) seems to impose an adaptation of the general rules of patrimonial private law, as to configure out a real sub-system with its own specific rules, within patrimonial private law

Esta intencionalidad va de la mano con resaltar la importancia que tienen en el aprendizaje los procesos y costos que llevan a la construcción del conocimiento desmitificando también ciertos estereotipos que rodean a las imágenes tradicionales de la ciencia y el científico mismo

    Wind tunnel validation of AeroDyn within LIFES50+ project: Imposed Surge and Pitch tests

    This paper presents the first set of results of the steady and unsteady wind tunnel tests, performed at Politecnico di Milano wind tunnel, on a 1/75 rigid scale model of the DTU 10 MW wind turbine, within the LIFES50+ project. The aim of these tests is the validation of the open source code AeroDyn developed at NREL. Numerical and experimental steady results are compared in terms of thrust and torque coefficients, showing good agreement, as well as for unsteady measurements gathered with a 2 degree-of-freedom test rig, capable of imposing the displacements at the base of the model, and providing the surge and pitch motion of the floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) scale model. The measurements of the unsteady test configuration are compared with AeroDyn/Dynin module results, implementing the generalized dynamic wake (GDW) model. Numerical and experimental comparison showed similar behaviours in terms of non linear hysteresis, however some discrepancies are herein reported and need further data analysis and interpretations about the aerodynamic integral quantities, with a special attention to the physics of the unsteady phenomenon

    Aerodynamic design methodology for wind tunnel tests of wind turbine rotors

    This paper illustrates the methodology and the experimental verification of the design of a 1/75 aero-elastic scaled rotor of the DTU 10 MW reference wind turbine for wind tunnel tests. The aerodynamic design was focused on the minimization of the difference, in terms of thrust coefficient, with respect to the full scale reference. From the Selig low-Reynolds airfoils database, the SD7032 one was chosen for this purpose and a corresponding constant section wing was tested at DTU red wind tunnel, providing force and distributed pressure coefficients for the design, in the Reynolds range 30−250×103 and for different angles of attack. The aero-elastic design algorithm was set to define the optimal spanwise thickness over chord ratio (t/c), the chord length and the twist, in order to match at least the first flapwise scaled natural frequency. An aluminium mould for the carbon fibre autoclave process was CNC manufactured based on B-Splines CAD definition of the external geometry given as an output of the design procedure. Wind tunnel tests at were carried out Politecnico di Milano on the whole 1/75 wind turbine scale model, confirming the successful aerodynamic design and manufacturing approaches. The experimental modal analysis carried out to verify the structural consistency of the scaled blade is also reported

    LUCAS Versus Manual Chest Compression During Ambulance Transport : A Hemodynamic Study in a Porcine Model of Cardiac Arrest

    Background-Mechanical chest compression (CC) is currently suggested to deliver sustained high-quality CC in a moving ambulance. This study compared the hemodynamic support provided by a mechanical piston device or manual CC during ambulance transport in a porcine model of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Methods and Results-In a simulated urban ambulance transport, 16 pigs in cardiac arrest were randomized to 18 minutes of mechanical CC with the LUCAS (n=8) or manual CC (n=8). ECG, arterial and right atrial pressure, together with end-tidal CO2 and transthoracic impedance curve were continuously recorded. Arterial lactate was assessed during cardiopulmonary resuscitation and after resuscitation. During the initial 3 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the ambulance was stationary, while then proceeded along a predefined itinerary. When the ambulance was stationary, CC-generated hemodynamics were equivalent in the 2 groups. However, during ambulance transport, arterial and coronary perfusion pressure, and end-tidal CO(2 )were significantly higher with mechanical CC compared with manual CC (coronary perfusion pressure: 43 +/- 4 versus 18 +/- 4 mmHg; end-tidal CO2: 31 +/- 2 versus 19 +/- 2 mmHg, P Conclusions-This model adds evidence in favor of the use of mechanical devices to provide ongoing high-quality CC and tissue perfusion during ambulance transport.Peer reviewe

    On the characteristics of the wake of a wind turbine undergoing large motions caused by a floating structure: an insight based on experiments and multi-fidelity simulations from the OC6 Phase III Project

    This study reports the results of the second round of analyses of the OC6 project Phase III. While the first round investigated rotor aerodynamic loading, here focus is given to the wake behavior of a floating wind turbine under large motion. Wind tunnel experimental data from the UNsteady Aerodynamics for FLOating Wind (UNAFLOW) project are compared with the results of simulations provided by participants with methods and codes of different levels of fidelity. The effect of platform motion both on the near and the far wake is investigated. More specifically, the behavior of tip vortices in the near wake is evaluated through multiple metrics, such as streamwise position, core radius, convection velocity, and circulation. Additionally, the onset of velocity oscillations in the far wake is analyzed because this can have a negative effect on stability and loading of downstream rotors. Results in the near wake for unsteady cases confirm that simulations and experiments tend to diverge from the expected linearized quasi-steady behavior when the rotor reduced frequency increases over 0.5. Additionally, differences across the simulations become significant, suggesting that further efforts are required to tune the currently available methodologies in order to correctly evaluate the aerodynamic response of a floating wind turbine in unsteady conditions. Regarding the far wake, it is seen that, in some conditions, numerical methods over-predict the impact of platform motion on the velocity fluctuations. Moreover, results suggest that, different from original expectations about a faster wake recovery in a floating wind turbine, the effect of platform motion on the far wake seems to be limited or even oriented to the generation of a wake less prone to dissipation.</p

    The production of tt‾ , W+bb‾ and W+cc‾ is studied in the forward region of proton–proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.98±0.02 fb−1 . The W bosons are reconstructed in the decays W→ℓν , where ℓ denotes muon or electron, while the b and c quarks are reconstructed as jets.     Racial differences in systemic sclerosis disease presentation: a European Scleroderma Trials and Research group study

    Objectives. Racial factors play a significant role in SSc. We evaluated differences in SSc presentations between white patients (WP), Asian patients (AP) and black patients (BP) and analysed the effects of geographical locations.Methods. SSc characteristics of patients from the EUSTAR cohort were cross-sectionally compared across racial groups using survival and multiple logistic regression analyses.Results. The study included 9162 WP, 341 AP and 181 BP. AP developed the first non-RP feature faster than WP but slower than BP. AP were less frequently anti-centromere (ACA; odds ratio (OR) = 0.4, P &lt; 0.001) and more frequently anti-topoisomerase-I autoantibodies (ATA) positive (OR = 1.2, P = 0.068), while BP were less likely to be ACA and ATA positive than were WP [OR(ACA) = 0.3, P &lt; 0.001; OR(ATA) = 0.5, P = 0.020]. AP had less often (OR = 0.7, P = 0.06) and BP more often (OR = 2.7, P &lt; 0.001) diffuse skin involvement than had WP.AP and BP were more likely to have pulmonary hypertension [OR(AP) = 2.6, P &lt; 0.001; OR(BP) = 2.7, P = 0.03 vs WP] and a reduced forced vital capacity [OR(AP) = 2.5, P &lt; 0.001; OR(BP) = 2.4, P &lt; 0.004] than were WP. AP more often had an impaired diffusing capacity of the lung than had BP and WP [OR(AP vs BP) = 1.9, P = 0.038; OR(AP vs WP) = 2.4, P &lt; 0.001]. After RP onset, AP and BP had a higher hazard to die than had WP [hazard ratio (HR) (AP) = 1.6, P = 0.011; HR(BP) = 2.1, P &lt; 0.001].Conclusion. Compared with WP, and mostly independent of geographical location, AP have a faster and earlier disease onset with high prevalences of ATA, pulmonary hypertension and forced vital capacity impairment and higher mortality. BP had the fastest disease onset, a high prevalence of diffuse skin involvement and nominally the highest mortality
