Corpus callosum agenesis and rehabilitative treatment
Corpus callosum agenesis is a relatively common brain malformation. It can be isolated or included in a complex alteration of brain (or sometimes even whole body) morphology. It has been associated with a number of neuropsychiatric disorders, from subtle neuropsychological deficits to Pervasive Developmental Disorders
Gortina 2010: IAMAS
The excavations of the University of Milan at Gortys, begun in 2002 and since 2003 conducted in the area South of the soâcalled âPraetoriumâ, have clarified some still uncertain issues of urban planimetry, such as the lack of monumental evidence in a central area of the city. They have revealed a big thermal complex built at the beginning of the forth century A.D. upon the abandoned hellenistic stadium, and on the North side of an agora tetragonos. Beyond the last still buried structures, 2010 excavation campaign has uncovered a marble head of Hygieia, reused in a wall

Nora.
A synthesis of almost two decades of archaeological excavations in Nora (CA) allows us to reconsider some historical and urbanism aspects of the ancient city. The research focused on the central area, already partially investigated during the 50s and the 60s: new data emerged relating above all to private buildings, their stratigraphic and planimetric articulations, and their decorative elements, including mosaics and frescoed walls.
Low-cost harvesting of microalgae biomass from water
Microalgae harvesting is known to be a major problem in the water industry. This is attributed to the minute nature of the algae cells and the often low concentration of the species in water and wastewater. While various chemical and mechanical harvesting techniques have been developed for algae harvesting, their application have been limited by prohibitive costs. There is also the disadvantage of not utilising the harvested microalgae as feedstock when it has accumulated significant amounts of chemicals (coagulants) employed during the harvesting operation. This work investigates the low cost harvesting of microalgae biomass from water using physical (non-chemical) method. Four
fabric filters: stretch-cotton, polyester-linen, satin-polyester and silk were investigated to determine their microalgae harvesting efficiencies using filtration method on three algae communities with cell size of 2- 20 ”m. For the three algae communities investigated, stretch-cotton filter showed a harvesting efficiency of 66- 93%, followed by polyester-linen (54- 90%), while satin-polyester and silk fabrics achieved harvesting efficiencies of 43- 71% and 27- 75% respectively. The research revealed that for wastewater generation of 1500m3/day and algae concentration
of 200mg/l, microalgae harvesting cost per sq. meter per kg of algae per cubic meter would be †£0.15 using stretch
cotton filte
Autism and classification systems: a study of 84 children

Abstract

Background

A number of studies have shown that current classification systems (ICD 10, DSM IV TR) have limitation when applied to autistic children and the category PDD NOS (DSM IV TR) has in particular been criticized. To check the possible usefulness of other classification systems to better describe patient's functioning, we retrospectively studied 84 patients, seen consecutively in our Child Neurology and Psychiatry Department (excluding only those presenting for another disease even if with clinical signs of a PDD).

Methods

We tried to classify them according to ICD 10, DSM IV TR, CFTMEA-R, "operational classification" (Manzano and Palacio) and de Ajuriaguerra's classification.

Results

We found a good correspondence between DSM IV TR and ICD 10 and the use of psychodynamic classification systems (in particular CFTMEA-R) was useful to differentiate clinical subtypes collected under the PDD NOS etiquette according to DSM IV TR.

Conclusions

To rationalize research efforts and find better tailored therapies, we need to improve PDD classification systems, using contributions coming from every field of child psychiatry and neurology: it's possible that 0-3 Classification could help this.</p
