    Electron detachment from negative ions in bichromatic laser field

    Negative ion detachment in two-colour laser field is considered within the recent modification of Keldysh model which makes it quantitatively reliable. The general approach is illustrated by calculation of angular differential detachment rates, partial rates for particular ATD (Above Threshold Detachment) channels and total detachment rates for H^- ion in bichromatic field with 1:2 frequency ratio. Both perturbative and strong field regimes are examined. Polar asymmetry and phase effects are quantitatively characterized with some new features revealed. Phase effects are found to result in a huge anisotropy factor 103\sim 10^3 in the electron angular distribution in the perturbative regime.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures in separate files which are not incorporated in the latex file of the pape

Microplasma texturing method, microplasma oxidation method and chemical metallization method were used to create these structures. Non-conductive nonmetallic inorganic coatings were produced by microplasma oxidation method.     EPIDEMIOLOGY OF PRIMARY HYPERPARATHYROIDISM – INVISIBLE PART OF THE ICEBERG (LITERATURE REWIEW)

    An overview of Russian and foreign literature data with an analysis of the epidemiology of primary hyperparathyroidism (PGPT) was made. It wasnoted, that previously PHPTwas considered a severe disabling disease with the development of complications such as nephrolithiasis and osteoporosis. However,recently, the data of population-screening studies of blood calcium in several countries in Europe and North America opened the «invisible part of the iceberg» - a large number of mild (olygosymptomatic and asymptomatic) forms of the disease.According to different authors, the prevalence of PHPT is 0.5 to 34 cases per 1000 population, i.e.about 1%, and among people over 55 years – about 2%. NormocalciemicPHPT – a newly detected form nowadays is of particular interest. To date, analysis of blood calcium in Russia is not a routine biochemical test, and patients with PHPToften receive specialized care at the stage of irreversible complications. Therefore, it is necessary to increasethe awareness of physicians about the epidemiology and clinical presentation of the disease, to identify risk groups of PHPTand implement the diagnostic algorithms in the daily doctor’s practice

    Comparative analysis of clinical manifestations of primary hyperparathyroidisis by results of hospitalizations and screening for hypercalcia in the Arkhangelsk region

    Objective: to compare the forms and clinical course of primary hypeparathyroidism in hospitalized patients over a ten-year period, with patients identified by a routine analysis of blood calcium in Arkhangelsk region.Material and methods: At the first stage, a retrospective analysis of 48 case histories of patients who received inpatient treatment for PHPT in two multidisciplinary hospitals in Arkhangelsk from 2005 to 2015 was carried out. At the second stage, a screening of blood calcium was performed in patients of large outpatient clinic in Arkhangelsk from March 1 to March 31, 2015, as a result of which 21 cases of the first established PHPT were detected. A comparative analysis of the clinical course was carried out in two groups of patients with PHPT compared with the control group.Results: patients with PHPT detected during screening showed a higher incidence of mild forms of the disease (38 %), a higher level of bone mineral density in all parts of the skeleton according to dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, and a lower incidence of nephrolithiasis (24 % vs. 69 %) compared with hospitalized patients, among which the manifest forms of the disease prevailed (88 %), fibrocystic osteitis was detected in 44 % of cases, and coral nephrolithiasis - in 10% of cases.Conclusion: a routine study of blood calcium levels helps to identify primary hyperparathyroidism at earlier stages to prevent the development of severe complications and invalidisation of patients

    Cardiovascular pathology in diff erent forms of primary hyperparathyroidism

    Objective: To study the frequency and features of the clinical course of cardiovascular pathology in patients with diff erent clinical forms of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of case histories of 48 patients who received inpatient treatment for PHPT in the endocrinological or surgical departments of two large hospitals in Arkhangelsk from 2005 to 2015 was performed.Results: Among the revealed cases of PHPT, the symptomatic form of PHPT was the most common (88%). Th e analysis showed a high frequency of arterial hypertension (AH) (69%) with a more severe course in patients with a mixed form of PHPT. Th e level of parathyroid hormone (PTH) was higher in patients with AH compared with patients without hypertension and PHPT (p = 0.008). Left ventricular hypertrophy was detected in 60% of patients with a mixed form of PHPT. In a mild form, this complication was not observed. Th e relationship between the level of total blood calcium and PTH and the interventricular septum thickness was revealed by the results of echocardiography (p = 0.036 and p = 0.012). Th e inverse relationship between the duration of the QT interval and the level of ionized blood calcium was shown (p = 0.022).Conclusions: Changes in phosphorus-calcium metabolism provoked by PHPT aff ect the state of the cardiovascular system, which determines the need for increased attention of various specialists to this type of complications in PHPT, timely indication of treatment, and improvement of the quality of patient’s life

    Study of the neutron quantum states in the gravity field

    We have studied neutron quantum states in the potential well formed by the earth's gravitational field and a horizontal mirror. The estimated characteristic sizes of the neutron wave functions in the two lowest quantum states correspond to expectations with an experimental accuracy. A position-sensitive neutron detector with an extra-high spatial resolution of ~2 microns was developed and tested for this particular experiment, to be used to measure the spatial density distribution in a standing neutron wave above a mirror for a set of some of the lowest quantum states. The present experiment can be used to set an upper limit for an additional short-range fundamental force. We studied methodological uncertainties as well as the feasibility of improving further the accuracy of this experiment

    Natural and human-made disasters, including civil unrest, terrorism, biological and chemical threats, and war, have affected the world on a recurring basis. These events have caused suffering and misery to populations and have revealed a low degree of self-sufficiency and a high degree of unpreparedness on the part of governments to deal with the consequences.1 Natural and human-made adversity typically generate public health crises and economic instability, with lasting negative effects on the socioeconomic status of populations of all ages. These adverse effects affect children, who are among the most marginalized and vulnerable members of society and rarely consulted when communities make decisions that directly affect them. War is one of the world's most devastating events, requiring short-term interventions and complex long-term recovery planning, articulated in 4 phases—mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery—that focus on the rights of children who are in vulnerable circumstances and, therefore, at greater risk of harm. This commentary, authored by members of the board of directors of the European Pediatric Association–Union of National Pediatric Societies and Associations (EPA-UNEPSA), briefly discusses the plight of children exposed to situations of terror and horror during war, including severe loss and disruption in their lives, which can result in the lasting effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. Our goal is to raise awareness among pediatricians and public health authorities of the importance of developing programs directed toward the rehabilitation of children affected by war, including social healing and peace culture education, as a key approach to primary prevention of the recurrence of war

    Assessment of the biological value of forages according to the control tests of milk and its use in the organization of feeding of dairy cattle

    The article presents the results of the assessment of the biological usefulness of feed according to the control tests of milk. Scientific research was carried out in LLC "Minskoye" of the Kostroma district of the Kostroma region on a population of 369 cows of the Kostroma and Black-and-White breeds according to the seasons of the year. The authors found that in terms of the level of digestible protein in lactating cows, there is an imbalance in almost all seasons of the year, so most animals are prone to diseases associated with metabolic disorders. The level of rumen acidity in animals of the Koroma breed was more stable (pH = 6.2-6.4) in all seasons of the year, which indicates a lower likelihood of developing acidosis, in contrast to Black-and-White breed cows. Based on the indicators of milk control tests, insufficient supply of raw protein to cows of the Kostroma and Black-and-White breeds during the milking period was established. The highest daily milk yields (more than 30 kg of milk) were obtained from cows in the first and second periods of lactation in all seasons of the year. In animals with a level of availability of digestible protein of 10.3-10.9 g/MJ, there is a normal ratio of fat: protein (1.26:1), with a profitability level of 66.11%, while animals with an insufficient level availability of digestible protein of 10.2 g/MJ and less, had the level of profitability of milk production 73.93 and 86.44%, respectively. When the level of availability of digestible protein is more than 11.0 g/MJ in animals, the likelihood of acidosis increases. Evaluation of the biological value of feeds according to control tests of milk during the period of control milkings will allow monitoring the energy and protein nutrition of animals
