The paper is presented in two sections. In Section A, the paper explores the notion of knowledge management with reference to knowledge management of educational disciplines. In this section, the thoughts of authors and researchers who have explored various notions related to teaching and learning and societal as well as organizational change are referred in order to recognize the diversity and range of ideas directly and indirectly related to the academic disciplines which can be the subject of knowledge management in the education field. The themes referred to include teaching-learning, thinking, technological innovations, and educational ideas. Lifestyle changes and future scenarios are also referred to. In Section B, the paper presents a preliminary attempt to discuss knowledge management at the undergraduate degree with special reference to the Bachelor of Management Program. The focus of the knowledge management pursuit is on the concentration of Quality Management. The work is work in progress. Much work needs to be done to integrate notions at the level of the terms, seminal concepts, theories and other perspectives into a coherent conceptual framework. On the one hand further integration could be conducted at the particular units of syntheses among the various subjects in the Quality Maanagement Majors/Concentration. On the other hand, beyond the degree program, scholars could apply the lessons learned to integrate and manage their own learning in formal, non formal and informal learning areas. The encouragement to scholars/students to pursue integration of their knowledge corpus based on the assumptions of the Personal Construct Theory

Trillions of neural network are connected to one another in the brain. “The aMAZEing Brain” is the product of the thoughts generated in a whimsical way by these connections. This model appears to be a brain figure with many partitions representing different brain regions

Tessellation planning: relationships between the physical environment and the neighbourhood / Anniz Fazli Ibrahim Bajunid, Mohamed Yusoff Abbas and Abdul Hadi Nawawi.

The fundamental objective of the national housing agenda is to ensure a better quality of life. The challenge is to develop affordable houses whilst sustaining positive social neighbourhoods. In the western world, research equated the physical environment as a dominant influence on the spatial behaviours of communities. Quality of living in Malaysia is only obtainable to the upper echelons in organic planning of housing. These perceived as successful neighbourhoods such as the cul-de-sac or Tessellation Planning create a relationship between the physical environment and the neighbourhood. This paper initiates a search for such literature and identifies key concepts for further deliberations

Culs-de-sac in Shah Alam, have begun to take centre stage, especially in the high-end neighbourhood developments. Typically, these neighbourhoods can be easily identified. However, in contrast to developed nations, the local municipality has yet to begin identifying neighbourhood typologies. This paper endeavors to elucidate a sampling or identification process procedures of the cul-de-sac neighbourhood. The cul-de-sac was identified by observing intersection connectivity, link-node ratios, as well as street segment analysis; an assimilation of techniques used in recent western methodologies. Scaled macro to micro map analysis aligned sequentially in sieves, allow for identification of specific cul-de-sac syntax; one in particular is the cul-de-sac courtyards

Social cohesion of the Malaysian Cul-de-sac neighborhoods: brief critical review of concepts / Anniz Fazli Ibrahim Bajunid, Mohamed Yusoff Abbas and Abdul Hadi Nawawi

The national mass housing policies are currently being scrutinised on affordability and quality of life. The consideration of a better neighbourhood design is currently only evident in curvilinear and organic planning designs of neighbourhoods such as the cul-de-sac. The objective of this paper is to identify concepts of the cul-de-sac neighbourhoods and the community’s social cohesion through a critical review of available literature within the framework settings of a Malaysian pluralistic neighbourhood. The paper is anticipated to lead to methodological assessment processes of the physical environment and neighbourhoods as well as expand existing contextual knowledge of the Malaysian cul-de-sac neighbourhoods

Shah Alam has exhibited flourishing cul-de-sac courtyard neighbourhoods, which has stirred debatable interests. The objective of this paper is to continue the discourse in measurable analysis of subclassifications. The paper assembles physical data with key characteristics that make-up the physical construct of a cul-de-sac courtyard by administering measurements, observations and checklists. The sub-classification processes led to preliminary key factors such as density, size, design forms and user implications. 18 cul-de-sac courtyards in Shah were catalogued and inventoried, elucidating its syntax. The database introduced potential in longitudinal research of the socio-spatial micro-neighbourhood unit, towards pragmatic applications in emergent design practices
