[Abstract] Our current knowledge on the crocodyliform evolution is strongly biased towards the skull morphology, and the postcranial skeleton is usually neglected in many taxonomic descriptions. However, it is logical to expect that it can contribute with its own phylogenetic signal. In this paper, the changes in the tree topology caused by the addition of the postcranial information are analysed for the family Allodaposuchidae, the most representative eusuchians in the latest Cretaceous of Europe. At present, different phylogenetic hypotheses have been proposed for this group without reaching a consensus. The results of this paper evidence a shift in the phylogenetic position when the postcranium is included in the dataset, pointing to a relevant phylogenetic signal in the postcranial elements. Finally, the phylogenetic relationships of allodaposuchids within Eusuchia are reassessed; and the internal relationships within Allodaposuchidae are also reconsidered after an exhaustive revision of the morphological data. New and improved diagnoses for each species are here provided. This work was supported by postdoctoral grants funded by the program “Axudas á etapa postdoutoral da Xunta de Galicia 2017 – Modalidade A” (ED481B 2017/027) (https://www.xunta.gal/) and the program “Ayudas Juan de la Cierva – Formación 2019” (FJC2019-042583-I) (https://www.ciencia.gob.es/). This study aims to analyse the acquired knowledge by the students of 4th year of psychology about diversity awareness, integration and inclusion educative models, and the specific needs for educational support that can show some children through development; the main objective is to asure that current psychology students and future professionals of the educational field have the necessary knowledge. Consequently, the schools will have the opportunity to have well trained professionals that are capable to adapt didactic instructions to every child’s situation and to meet their educational needs sactisfactorily. To achieve this, we carried out a data collection with a cuantitative tool created ad hoc to analyse the acquired knowledge by the psychology students about diversity awareness, as well as personal variables that can be related to the quality of this knowledge. The analysis of the student’s knowledge shows optimist conclussions about this, although it hasn’t approached the theoretical model; on the other hand, the analysis of the variables shows a clear relationship between the knowledge and the received training, as well as no relationship with age, interest for education, or proximity to children that show specific needs for educational support.Universidad de Sevilla. Behavior of three-phase inverters under grid faults explained from a geometric perspective

    Get PDF
The aim of this work is to analyze the dynamic behavior of inverters powered by renewable energy sources (RES) operating under grid faults by means of a geometric point of view. To this purpose, a three-phase grid-connected inverter subject to voltage sags is analyzed. First, the mathematical equations that describe its electrical model under voltage sags are given in the complex form of the transformed Park components. Second, simulations results show the resemblance between the curve depicted by the transformed Park components of the injected currents in the complex plane and well-known geometric curves. Finally, the geometric-based approach is used to describe easily the dynamic behavior of grid-connected inverters under voltage sags. This new approach could be used to propose new control techniques to achieve fault ride-through (FRT) capability of three-phase inverters.Peer ReviewedObjectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible::11 - Ciutats i Comunitats SosteniblesObjectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible::7 - Energia Assequible i No ContaminantPostprint (published version

The minimal Tjurina number of irreducible germs of plane curve singularities

    Get PDF
In this paper we give a positive answer to a question of Dimca and Greuel about the quotient between the Milnor and the Tjurina numbers for any irreducible germ of plane curve singularity. This result is based on a closed formula for the minimal Tjurina number of an equisingularity class in terms of the sequence of multiplicities of the strict transform along a resolution. The key points for the proof are previous results by Genzmer, Wall and Mattei.Comment: To appear in Indiana University Mathematics Journal. Minor changes. Improvement in Corollary

The study of isolated intellectual careers is very often victim of an error that Pierre Bourdieu has called "biographical illusion". The analytic strategy based on comparison of individual itineraries involved in similar contexts allows eventually an apprehension more attentive to the social factors that constraints them. In this sense, this article looks at the trajectory of four characters –Florestan Fernandes, Gino Germani, Antonio Candido and Adolfo Prieto - who were the main protagonists of the modernization of sociology and literary criticism in Brazil and Argentina between the decades of the 1950 and 1960.Fil: Blanco, Alejandro Raul. Identifying Real Estate Opportunities using Machine Learning

The real estate market is exposed to many fluctuations in prices because of existing correlations with many variables, some of which cannot be controlled or might even be unknown. Housing prices can increase rapidly (or in some cases, also drop very fast), yet the numerous listings available online where houses are sold or rented are not likely to be updated that often. In some cases, individuals interested in selling a house (or apartment) might include it in some online listing, and forget about updating the price. In other cases, some individuals might be interested in deliberately setting a price below the market price in order to sell the home faster, for various reasons. In this paper, we aim at developing a machine learning application that identifies opportunities in the real estate market in real time, i.e., houses that are listed with a price substantially below the market price. This program can be useful for investors interested in the housing market. We have focused in a use case considering real estate assets located in the Salamanca district in Madrid (Spain) and listed in the most relevant Spanish online site for home sales and rentals. The application is formally implemented as a regression problem that tries to estimate the market price of a house given features retrieved from public online listings. For building this application, we have performed a feature engineering stage in order to discover relevant features that allows for attaining a high predictive performance. Several machine learning algorithms have been tested, including regression trees, k-nearest neighbors, support vector machines and neural networks, identifying advantages and handicaps of each of them.Comment: 24 pages, 13 figures, 5 table

Equity, commodity and interest rate volatility derivatives

A new methodology to construct synthetic volatility derivatives is presented. The underlying asset price process is very general, since equity, commodities and interest rates are included. The focus is on volatility swaps and volatility swap options, but much more derivatives may be considered. The proposed methods optimize the conditional value at risk of the non-hedged risk, and yields both bid and ask prices, as well as optimal hedging strategies for both purchases and sales. Upper bounds for the broker capital losses under very negative scenarios are given. Numerical experiments are presented so as to illustrate the performance in practice of this new approach.Research partially supported by “Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid” (Spain, Grant S2009/ESP −1594) and “MEyC” (Spain, Grants ECO2009−14457−C04 and ECO2012−39031−C02−01)

A parametric approach for the study of three-phase inverters subject to grid faults

    Get PDF
The aim of this work is to describe the behavior of three-phase inverters connected to a faulty grid by means of a parametric approach which gives rise to limaçon of Pascal curves and 3D figures formed by the injected currents during the fault. The analytical study is given in the complex form of the transformed Park variables, and the simulation results are obtained by means of MATLAB. The results show that the parametric analysis can be an easy and useful tool to predict the behavior of three-phase inverters operating under voltage sags, with the aim of achieving fault ride-through (FRT) capability.Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible::11 - Ciutats i Comunitats SosteniblesObjectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible::7 - Energia Assequible i No ContaminantPostprint (published version
