    Self-consistent triaxial de Zeeuw-Carollo Models

    We use the usual method of Schwarzschild to construct self-consistent solutions for the triaxial de Zeeuw & Carollo (1996) models with central density cusps. ZC96 models are triaxial generalisations of spherical γ\gamma-models of Dehnen whose densities vary as rγr^{-\gamma} near the center and r4r^{-4} at large radii and hence, possess a central density core for γ=0\gamma=0 and cusps for γ>0\gamma > 0. We consider four triaxial models from ZC96, two prolate triaxials: (p,q)=(0.65,0.60)(p, q) = (0.65, 0.60) with γ=1.0\gamma = 1.0 and 1.5, and two oblate triaxials: (p,q)=(0.95,0.60)(p, q) = (0.95, 0.60) with γ=1.0\gamma = 1.0 and 1.5. We compute 4500 orbits in each model for time periods of 105TD10^{5} T_{D}. We find that a large fraction of the orbits in each model are stochastic by means of their nonzero Liapunov exponents. The stochastic orbits in each model can sustain regular shapes for 103TD\sim 10^{3} T_{D} or longer, which suggests that they diffuse slowly through their allowed phase-space. Except for the oblate triaxial models with γ=1.0\gamma =1.0, our attempts to construct self-consistent solutions employing only the regular orbits fail for the remaining three models. However, the self-consistent solutions are found to exist for all models when the stochastic and regular orbits are treated in the same way because the mixing-time, 104TD\sim10^{4} T_{D}, is shorter than the integration time, 105TD10^{5} T_{D}. Moreover, the ``fully-mixed'' solutions can also be constructed for all models when the stochastic orbits are fully mixed at 15 lowest energy shells. Thus, we conclude that the self-consistent solutions exist for our selected prolate and oblate triaxial models with γ=1.0\gamma = 1.0 and 1.5.Comment: 6 Pages, 3 Figures, 2 Tables.     About twelve hand-operated hook and linersfrom southern Tamil Nadu regularly fish off Okha, Gujarat for pelagic sharks and these vessels land their catch at New Ferry Wharf.On 31.08.06, an unprecedented catch of about 3.2 t (300 Nos.) of sharks was landed by two hook and liners. The catch comprised of 270 numbers (90%) of Carcharhinus limbatus measuring 110-125cm in total length, 21 numbers (7%) of Galeocerdo cuvieri measuring 173-210 cm and 3 numbers (3%) of Carcharhinus sorrah measuring 115-128 cm. The weight range was 8-11 kg. The catch was sold for Rs. 2 lakhs at the rate of Rs. 60/kg

    On the optical properties of Ag^{+15} ion-beam irradiated TiO_{2} and SnO_{2} thin films

    The effects of 200-MeV Ag^{+15} ion irradiation on the optical properties of TiO_{2} and SnO_{2} thin films prepared by using the RF magnetron sputtering technique were investigated. These films were characterized by using UV-vis spectroscopy, and with increasing irradiation fluence, the transmittance for the TiO_{2} films was observed to increase systematically while that for SnO_{2} was observed to decrease. Absorption spectra of the irradiated samples showed minor changes in the indirect bandgap from 3.44 to 3.59 eV with increasing irradiation fluence for TiO_{2} while significant changes in the direct bandgap from 3.92 to 3.6 eV were observed for SnO_{2}. The observed modifications in the optical properties of both the TiO_{2} and the SnO_{2} systems with irradiation can be attributed to controlled structural disorder/defects in the system.Comment: 6 pages, ICAMD-201

    Development of Moisture Prediction Model for Tea using Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy

    Moisture is the most essential parameter for tea leaves for storage and consumption stage as it affects the physical and chemical aspects of tea leaves with which it relates the stability and freshness the tea leaves for a long time. The most essential parameter which affects the quality of tea leaves is moisture for post harvesting, processing, storage and transport. The main aim of this study is to development procedure for moisture content measurements of fresh tea leaves using measurement acquired by electrical properties. Method This relation is obtained the frequency range within between 100 kHz to 300 MHz and moisture content ranges between 2%-75%. A good relation between moisture content and correlate with variations in electrical properties viz. IZI, Ѳz, R, Cp, Cs has been observed by partial least square regression technique. Result Moisture prediction model was developed by applying electrical properties and that the new technique it was observed more accuracy obtained using a single parameter as compared with that moisture measurement.
