Model Robust Calibration: Method and Application to Electronically-Scanned Pressure Transducers
This article presents the application of a recently developed statistical regression method to the controlled instrument calibration problem. The statistical method of Model Robust Regression (MRR), developed by Mays, Birch, and Starnes, is shown to improve instrument calibration by reducing the reliance of the calibration on a predetermined parametric (e.g. polynomial, exponential, logarithmic) model. This is accomplished by allowing fits from the predetermined parametric model to be augmented by a certain portion of a fit to the residuals from the initial regression using a nonparametric (locally parametric) regression technique. The method is demonstrated for the absolute scale calibration of silicon-based pressure transducers
Kinerja Kepala Desa dalam Pelaksanaan Pembangunan Desa di Desa Tolok Satu Kecamatan Tompaso
The objective of this research is to know the performance of Village Head of one Tolok in the implementation of deda development. The study was conducted from april to june 2017. The method used is qualitative method where a type that providcs a description or description of facts collected in the field relate closely to the object of research, the data source used is primary data and secon dary data and informan are involved are people who can provide information about the situation and condition of the research background that is a total of 10 informants namely the village head 1 orang, village secretary 1 person, guard head 3 person, and the community as many as 5 person. The results showed that the Village Head in carrying out its performance in the implementation of development seen from the quantity of work, quality of work, job knowledge, creativity, cooperation, initiative, dependability, personal qualities it\u27s goob enough to see from some successful development programs. Referring to the findings of this study, so in view need to give some suggestion as solution of problem solving in this research, as follows : (1) in order to ensure the realization of all village development plans/programs, especially on one tiered villages, it is recommended that at the completion prepation and placement of village development programs/ plans, village heads at time also need to conduct direct socialization to the community to invite the community to participate actively in the process of implementation of village development. So that people can know the importance of community participation in the implementation of development. (2) to increase awareness and high participation of the community in the village development process, it is advisable for the village head and village officials to explore and understand the urgent needs of the community in the planning and implementation of the development program
Developing Architecture and the Transistor with Cit
The implications of event-driven archetypes have been far-reaching and pervasive. In this work, authors disconfirm the exploration of B-trees, which embodies the natural principles of electrical engineering. We motivate a novel algorithm for the study of e-commerce (Cit), which we use to show that the infamous adaptive algorithm for the visualization of congestion control is impossible
Implementasi Kabijakan Pembangunan Infrastruktur Jalan dalam Mendukung Pengembangan Ekonomi Masyarakat di Kabupaten Sorong Propinsi Papua Barat
Implementation of Road Infrastructure Development Policy in Support of Community EconomicDevelopment in Sorong. This study aims to find out about the Road Infrastructure Development inSupport of Economic Development conducted by the government of Sorong in particular Umum.OlehWorks Department for the government\u27s role in encouraging the development area should be donewith a set of policies and actions that can improve regional economy Sorong. This study was conducted in Sorong, the process of data collection is done by observation, interviewand documentation. Informants in this study consisted of 14 people. The data collected later describedby using qualitative methods. Results from this study indicate that the construction of road infrastructure in Sorong Regency is goodenough, but not fully wishes of the people can be responded to by the government, especially theDepartment of Public Works. Thus the author can propose to the government to the natural resourcesthat could be used for the benefit of local communities in Sorong for the present and the future
Using student experience to inform the design of an automated feedback system for essay answers
The SAFeSEA project (Supportive Automated Feedback for Short Essay Answers) aims to develop an automated feedback system to support university students as they write summative essays. Empirical studies carried out in the initial phase of the system’s development illuminated students’ approaches to and understandings of the essay-writing process. Findings from these studies suggested that, regardless of their experience of higher education, students consider essay writing as: 1) a sequential set of activities, 2) a process that is enhanced through particular sources of support and 3) a skill that requires the development of personal strategies. Further data collected from tutors offered insight into the feedback and reflection stages of essay writing. These perspectives offer important considerations for the ongoing, iterative development of this automated feedback system and indeed, for any institution developing tools to support students’ writing
Accidental Degeneracy and Berry Phase of Resonant States
We study the complex geometric phase acquired by the resonant states of an
open quantum system which evolves irreversibly in a slowly time dependent
environment. In analogy with the case of bound states, the Berry phase factors
of resonant states are holonomy group elements of a complex line bundle with
structure group C*. In sharp contrast with bound states, accidental
degeneracies of resonances produce a continuous closed line of singularities
formally equivalent to a continuous distribution of "magnetic" charge on a
"diabolical" circle, in consequence, we find different classes of topologically
inequivalent non-trivial closed paths in parameter space.Comment: 23 pages, 2 Postscript figures, LaTex, to be published in: Group 21:

Potential, core-level and d band shifts at transition metal surfaces
We have extended the validity of the correlation between the surface
3d-core-level shift (SCLS) and the surface d band shift (SDBS) to the entire 4d
transition metal series and to the neighboring elements Sr and Ag via accurate
first-principles calculations. We find that the correlation is quasilinear and
robust with respect to the differencies both between initial and final-state
calculations of the SCLS's and two distinct measures of the SDBS's. We show
that despite the complex spatial dependence of the surface potential shift
(SPS) and the location of the 3d and 4d orbitals in different regions of space,
the correlation exists because the sampling of the SPS by the 3d and 4d
orbitals remains similar. We show further that the sign change of the SCLS's
across the transition series does indeed arise from the d band-narrowing
mechanism previously proposed. However, while in the heavier transition metals
the predicted increase of d electrons in the surface layer relative to the bulk
arises primarily from transfers from s and p states to d states within the
surface layer, in the lighter transition metals the predicted decrease of
surface d electrons arises primarily from flow out into the vacuum.Comment: RevTex, 22 pages, 5 figures in uufiles form, to appear in Phys.Rev.
