A Minority of Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Routinely Downloads and Retrospectively Reviews Device Data.

BackgroundIn type 1 diabetes (T1D), periodic review of blood glucose and insulin dosing should be performed, but it is not known how often patients review these data on their own. We describe the proportion of patients with T1D who routinely downloaded and reviewed their data at home.Materials and methodsA cross-sectional survey of 155 adults and 185 caregivers of children with T1D at a single academic institution was performed. "Routine Downloaders" (downloaded four or more times in the past year) were also considered "Routine Reviewers" if they reviewed their data most of the time they downloaded from devices. Logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with being a Routine Reviewer.ResultsOnly 31% of adults and 56% of caregivers reported ever downloading data from one or more devices, whereas 20% and 40%, respectively, were considered Routine Downloaders. Only 12% of adults and 27% of caregivers were Routine Reviewers. Mean hemoglobin A1c was lower in Routine Reviewers compared with non-Routine Reviewers (7.2±1.0% vs. 8.1±1.6% [P=0.03] in adults and 7.8±1.4% vs. 8.6±1.7% [P=0.001] in children). In adjusted analysis of adults, the odds ratio of being a Routine Reviewer of one or more devices for every 10-year increase in age was 1.5 (95% confidence interval, 1.1, 2.1 [P=0.02]). For every 10 years since diabetes diagnosis, the odds ratio of being a Routine Reviewer was 1.7 (95% confidence interval, 1.2, 2.4 [P=0.01]). For caregivers, there were no statistically significant factors associated with being a Routine Reviewer.ConclusionsA minority of T1D patients routinely downloads and reviews data from their devices on their own. Further research is needed to understand obstacles, provide better education and tools for self-review, and determine if patient self-review is associated with improved glycemic control

Designing Brand Identity for Batak Toba Tuak in Medan City

Sumatera Utara is a multicultural region. One of its native tribe is Batak Toba tribe. The people in Batak Toba tribe consumes special drink for a special occasion or as their second nature. Until now, tuak is still a very popular liquor in the area of North Sumatra, you could find a shop called lapo tuak in almost every village. Along with other cultures, tuak is also considered a cultural result that can be included in one of the many traditional drinks which favored by the domestic and foreign tourists. In North Sumatra tuak production is spread in various places, one of them are located in Medan. Me-dan is the largest metropolitan city outside Java and the third largest city after Jakarta and Surabaya. Despite being one of the largest cities in Indonesia, tuak which produced and being sold in Medan does not have its own branding. The various types of tuak create difficulties in identifying the origin of tuak that sold in the market. Then came the idea to design a brand for tuak, in addition, to increase selling prospect, and also to maintain the quality itself (quality control) so that it could be more trusted to the targeted customers. The identity design is followed by making packaging and promotion that is appropriate and effective. By making identity, packaging, and promotion for tuak, it is expected that Toba Batak\u27s tuak can be identified by potential customers more easily. Transaminase Enzyme and Liver Histological Profile of Mice Administered Extract of Pegagan (Centella Asiatica (L.) Urban)

The purpose of this study was to determine whether pegagan caused toxic effects on the liver. This study used completely randomized design with four treatments, ie 125, 200, 275 mg/kg BW and control, each treatment consisting of six replicates. Variables observed were the level of GPT, GOT and histological profile of liver. GPT and GOT levels were analyzed by analysis of single variant of 0.05. Histological picture of the liver include central venous dilation, inflammation, and damage to the structure of liver cells were performed by descriptive evaluation. Pegagan leaf extract did not show significant effect on GPT and GOT level in the liver of mice, whereas the histology results did not reveal any visible damage to liver cells in each dose. Administration of pegagan extract up to dose of 275 mg/kg BW was safe and would not cause damage to the liver cells

Analisis Rasio-rasio Keuangan untuk Memprediksi Financial Distress Bank Devisa Periode 2006 2011

There are some studies describing prediction models of banks bankruptcy, but only few have sought to predict banks financial distress which happens before bankruptcy. This study examines the factors affecting financial distress condition of foreign banks in the periods of 2006 2011. The tested factors are the changes of median value of Equity, the changes ofmedian value of Net Interest Margin and the changes of median value of Return on Equity. Variables used in this study consist of CAR, NPL, ROA, NIM, ROE, LDR, and IRR. The sample consists of 166 banks categorized as foreign banks in Indonesia in the periods of 2006 2011, collected by purposive sampling. The logistic regression was used for analyzing the data and backward stepwise technique is used to gain a model that has the highest classification power, by removing the most insignificant variable in a model. The results show that Return on Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Net Interest Margin are significant variable. The insignificant variables are CAR, NPL, LDR and IRR. Permainan Kecil “Sunda Manda” Sebagai Alternatif Bermain Anak Usia Dini

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangan permainanan sebagai alternatif bermain dan mengenalkan permainan tradisional kepada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dari permainan kecil sunda manda. Permainan sunda manda merupakan permainan tradisional yang mempunyai manfaat untuk mengembangkan kemampuan fisik motorik. Melalui pendidikan jasmani di TK maka permainan ini sangat memungkinkan diterapkan, karena pendidikan jasmani merupakan bagian dari unsur pendidikan nasional. Lokasi penelitian di wilayah Pandak Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Oktober 2013. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan ujicoba skala terbatas. FGD melibatkan pengawas TK/RA, kepala sekolah TK/RA, dan guru-guru TK/RA. We consider the anomalous dimension of a certain twist two operator in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. At strong coupling and large-N it is captured by the classical dynamics of a spinning D5-brane.
