Precision Livestock Farming IT Support Model for the Poultry Industry
The presented work proposes a practical approach to bird weight data processing and augmentation to enable production outcome forecast model training, which contributes to higher productivity. We suggest using the parametrized model, where parameter values are found through genetic optimization and thus are closely corresponding to broiler body weight factual measurements. The proposed approach is implemented as a stand-alone software system, exposing the models through containerized web services enabling different use scenarios

E-learning for Sustainable Educational Process
This paper gives an overview of the skills that are necessary in our century and provides a hypothesis that a dynamic and self-regulated e-learning system can help reach the same learning outcomes as the means of traditional classroom training. The paper emphasises the role of analogical thinking within the context of 21st century learning. It is also argued that effective e-learning comprises of individual learning, learning by collaboration, and learning in a real world environment which motivates learners to use e-learning materials independently, and, at the same time, provides a dynamic and collaborative learning process. Two case studies provide practical examples for proving the viewpoint that e-learning can provide successful learning outcomes if specific factors are taken into account
Research and Development Expenditures and Economic Growth in the EU: A Panel Data Analysis
The main aim of the paper is to investigate the empirical relationship between research and development (R&D) expenditures and economic growth in the European Union member states in the period of 2000–2013. The empirical analysis is based on panel data regressions. The estimated model is the production function type standard growth model extended with R&D stock variable. The results show a statistically significant impact of R&D expenditures on the economic growth in the EU countries. The significance for R&D coefficient remains robust to different sub-periods, but the level of significance decreases as a sub-sample of new EU countries was considered
Opportunities for the Use of Business Data Analysis Technologies
The paper analyses the business data analysis technologies, provides their classification and considers relevant terminology. The feasibility of business data analysis technologies handling big data sources is overviewed. The paper shows the results of examination of the online big data source analytics technologies, data mining and predictive modelling technologies and their trends
