Fusarium head blight and the negative influence of this dangerous disease is current worldwide problem. The aim of this work was the evaluation of incidence and severity of Fusarium head blight of barley according to different pre-crop in different locations of Slovakia. Occurrence of Fusarium head blight (FHB) was documented during two consecutive years in June 2011-2012 under the natural Fusarium infections in fields with spring barley (Hordeum vulgare). Observations were conducted at four different localities in four climatic regions in Slovakia. Incidence and severity of FHB were evaluated at the growth stages early milk to late milk in three replications. Each replication contained 100 spikes, the incidence of FHB was calculated as FHB index. During the observed period, the infestation of affected heads by FHB ranged from 0 - 12.67 %. The average infestation of heads was 5.16 % in 2011 and 5.42 % in 2012 year. Predominance intensity of FHB on infection heads were 5% or less in each locality. Higher FHB infestations were reached at Špačince (2011), Soblahov (2012) with higher precipitation when comparing long-term average. Conversely, the lowest FHB incidence was in locality with lowest precipitation in June (Veľké Úľany – 2011, Špačince – 2012). Important influence in the severity of FHB infection had also crop rotation. The highest FHB incidence was observed in localities where was maize use as a pre-crop (Špačince, 2011 – 12.67 %, Soblahov, 2012 – 11 %)

ObhájenoThe aim of the thesis Product and process innovation is to form a product concept of a financial innovation in collaboration with Fincentrum. The development product is called the investment compulsory motor third party liability. The aim of the company Fincentrum is to develop a competitive compulsory motor third party liability in that way the product will be included into the product portfolio one of the insurance company. The product is combination of two individual financial products, a compulsory motor third party liability and an investment. The client of insurance is required to pay a insurance rate and the insurance comany must pay money in case of the insured event. The part of the payment which is extra of insurance rate and administrative fees is investment component of the product. Customers of the product are all owners of the vehicles. This is required by the law. Customers are divided into three segments: conservative clients, volatile clients and the owners of the luxury vehicles. The product is mainly targeted the first and second groups. It is because the owners of the luxury vehicles demand very high quality of the product and specific service. The costs of investment compulsory motor third party liability is the most discussed item of the innovation. The costs of product are included in its price. The charges of products are different according to the specific policy of insurance company and the investment strategy. Therefore Fincentrum guarantee to control the amount of the charges due to Standard cost ratio. The index is created by Czech Insurance Associatio

Occurrence of Fusarium head blight (FHB) was documented during two consecutive years in June 2011-2012 under the natural conditions in winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Observations were conducted at six different localities in four climatic regions in Slovakia. Incidence and severity of FHB were evaluated at the end of flowering stage in three replications. Each replication contained 100 spikes. These data served as a basis for FHB index calculations. Obtained FHB index values indicated that the environmental conditions of the year 2011 were more favourable to the development of FHB infection. Higher FHB index values were reached at localities with precipitation higher than 100% of long-term average. Although significantly higher incidence of heads with FHB symptoms was recorded in climatic region 02 – quite warm, dry, hilly, correlation between the climatic regions was not confirmed. Except of the climatic conditions, the FHB development can be influenced by nitrogen application. The highest levels of FHB index was in coincidence with the highest and the lowest nitrogen rates applied. In all other cases, the effect of the mineral nutrition on head blight attack was unclear. Analyses of nitrogen forms applied revealed that nitrogen forms had no impact on FHB index value

One of the most important challenges in the study of aging is to discover compounds with longevity-promoting activities and to unravel their underlying mechanisms. Royal jelly (RJ) has been reported to possess diverse beneficial properties. Furthermore, protease-treated RJ (pRJ) has additional pharmacological activities. Exactly how RJ and pRJ exert these effects and which of their components are responsible for these effects are largely unknown. The evolutionarily conserved mechanisms that control longevity have been indicated. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether RJ and its related substances exert a lifespan-extending function in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans and to gain insights into the active agents in RJ and their mechanism of action. We found that both RJ and pRJ extended the lifespan of C. elegans. The lifespan-extending activity of pRJ was enhanced by Octadecyl-silica column chromatography (pRJ-Fraction 5). pRJ-Fr.5 increased the animals' lifespan in part by acting through the FOXO transcription factor DAF-16, the activation of which is known to promote longevity in C. elegans by reducing insulin/IGF-1 signaling (IIS). pRJ-Fr.5 reduced the expression of ins-9, one of the insulin-like peptide genes. Moreover, pRJ-Fr.5 and reduced IIS shared some common features in terms of their effects on gene expression, such as the up-regulation of dod-3 and the down-regulation of dod-19, dao-4 and fkb-4. 10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HDA), which was present at high concentrations in pRJ-Fr.5, increased lifespan independently of DAF-16 activity. These results demonstrate that RJ and its related substances extend lifespan in C. elegans, suggesting that RJ may contain longevity-promoting factors. Further analysis and characterization of the lifespan-extending agents in RJ and pRJ may broaden our understanding of the gene network involved in longevity regulation in diverse species and may lead to the development of nutraceutical interventions in the aging process

ObhájenoThis theses addresses the issue of first-time mothers' awareness of their child's psychomotor development (PMD). Specifically, I evaluate the sources from which mothers draw information about PMD. The main aim of work is to determine whether mothers' awareness of their infant's motor development is influenced by their choice of information source. My thesis focuses on mothers' attitudes towards physiotherapists as specialists in motor development. The methodology, of this research, is two versions of anonymous questionnaires provided in printed and online form. The first of questionnaires is addressed to mothers of first-born children. Based on the selected source of information, the 474 respondents are divided into two groups and compared with each other. The second version of the questionnaire is defined for paediatricians. Analysis of the results revealed that the knowledge of PMD among mothers who identified physiotherapy as a source exceeded that of mothers who drew from other sources by almost 20 %. The analysis also revealed that the profession of physiotherapist is most often perceived by mothers as a musculoskeletal specialist only; the view of the profession from the perspective of an expert in motor development is minimal, even given the fact that paediatricians refer mothers to physiotherapy. Mothers' awareness of PMD is low. Given the significantly higher awareness of mothers drawing information from physiotherapists, compared to mothers drawing information from other sources, I suggest that one possible solution to this issue is to increase overall awareness of the availability of physiotherapists as motor development specialists

Katedra marketingu, obchodu a služebObhájenoThe bachelor thesis Trade and export support programs in the Czech Republic and their comparison with the Slovakia aims to give overview of business and export support in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic, to define specific programs of both countries and to evaluate their importance in business and export for both economies. Business support is the relatively consistent in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The only difference is the level at which the support is provided to entrepreneurs. The Czech Republic implements programs mainly through the Operational program Business and Innovation. Slovak programs are implemented at level of state. However, the programs are similar to each other. The programs START are evidence of this fact. Both economics offer their exporters extensive support of export, too. The importance of individual programs is difficult to evaluate. Therefore, it is possible to evaluate the pro-export policy of the Czech Republic and Slovakia only through degree of economic openness which shows that both states are openness economics at long term. This suggest they are dependent on their export partners
