A Comparison of Acoustic Field Measurement by a Microphone and by an Optical Interferometric Probe

The objective of this work is to show that our optical method for measuring acoustic pressure is in some way superior to measurement using a microphone. Measurement of the integral acoustic pressure in the air by a laser interferometric probe is compared with measurement using a microphone. We determined the particular harmonic components in the acoustic field in the case of relatively high acoustic power in the ultrasonic frequency range

Why did socialist economies fail? The role of factor inputs reconsidered

We re-estimate investment and present revised growth accounts for three socialist economies between 1950 and 1989. Government statistics reported distorted measures for both the rate and trajectory of productivity growth in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Poland. Researchers have benefited from revised output data, but continued to use official statistics on capital input, or estimated capital stock from official investment data. Investment levels and rates of capital accumulations were much lower than officially claimed and over-reporting worsened over time. A setback in factor accumulation, both equipment investment and labor input, contributed very significantly to the socialist growth failure of the 1980s

Valuation of Trinity Bank, a.s.

Diplomová práce se věnuje ocenění Trinity Bank, a.s. s cílem odhadnout její tržní hodnotu za předpokladu využití veřejně dostupných dat. Teoretická část práce popisuje specifika bankovního trhu včetně rizik spojených s bankovním trhem a popisem vybraných oceňovacích metod pro bankovní subjekty. Praktická část se věnuje sestavení ocenění Banky, kde je úvodem představen oceňovaný subjekt. Jádrem posudku je poté strategická a finanční analýza, která připraví klíčové předpoklady pro sestavení finančního plánu. Závěrem je skrze metodu dividendového potenciálu oceněn subjekt Trinity Bank, a.s. Zvolené doplňkové metody jsou metoda obligačního cenového modelu a dále tržní porovnání.The diploma thesis focuses on the valuation of Trinity Bank, a.s. with the aim of estimating its market value using publicly available data. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the specifics of the banking market, including the risks associated with the banking market and a description of selected valuation methods for banking entities. The practical part is devoted to the valuation of the Bank itself, where the valued entity is introduced. The core of the appraisal is then the strategic and financial analysis, which prepares the key assumptions for the preparation of the financial plan. Finally, Trinity Bank, a.s. is valued through the discounted return valuation model. The supporting valuation methods are then the bond pricing model method as well as the market comparison

The valuation of energetical economy technologies

katedra: KPE; rozsah: 97This thesis focuses on the theme: the valuation of energy-saving technologies. The main objective of case study is demonstrating the economic efficiency in terms of CR. It's effort is also to strengthen lack of awareness of the general public and put pressure to stop the current unviable long-term investments in the energy industry. The subject of study are selected technologies which decrease the energy performance of buildings in conjunction with technologies that use renewable energy sources to achieve energy autonomy for enterprises in the government sector. The results support the idea of work and cost-effective energy saving measures in this sector. The results include, inter alia real payback of the investments, which are shorter than the period of their life. It is also generator of net profit for the current aid environment. The main contribution of the author is considered the evidence that at least in the government sector has investments in energy saving technology makes sense.Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na téma: oceňování energeticky úsporných technologií. Hlavním cílem případové studie je prokázání dostatečné ekonomické efektivnosti v podmínkách ČR. Zároveň je její snahou posílit nedostatečnou osvětu v oblasti laické veřejnosti a vyvinout tlak na ukončení investic do současných dlouhodobě neperspektivních oborů energetiky. Předmětem práce jsou vybrané technologie v oblasti snižování energetické náročnosti budov ve spojení s technologiemi využívající obnovitelných zdrojů energie, za účelem energetické autonomie podniků v sektoru státní správy. Výsledky práce podporují myšlenku ekonomicky efektivních a energeticky úsporných opatření v tomto sektoru. Výsledky mimo jiné zahrnují reálné doby návratnosti realizovaných investic, jež jsou kratší, než je doba jejich životnosti. Zároveň jsou tudíž generátorem čistého zisku za současné podpory životního prostředí. Za hlavní přínos autora je považován důkaz, že minimálně v sektoru státní správy má investice do energeticky úsporných technologií smysl
