    Examining the e-learning attitudes of Indonesian students during the COVID-19 pandemic

    The COVID-19 epidemic has impacted higher education institutions across the country by switching traditional teaching practices to online learning. The attitudes of students towards e-learning are essential to research in order to determine the extent to which successful implementation of online learning. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the attitudes of Indonesian students towards e-learning throughout the pandemic. The study adopted a quantitative research approach through a survey questionnaire. The attitude of students was evaluated using the attitude scale towards e-learning. The questionnaire comprised 20 items assessing students’ attitudes towards remote learning. A questionnaire was distributed to 342 (255 female and 87 male) undergraduate students who took online courses at an Indonesian state university. The statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, t-tests and one-way ANOVA were used in the present study. The results suggested that students’ e-learning attitudes tend to be neutral. The t-test and ANOVA indicated that there was no statistically significant gap in students’ attitudes with respect to gender, daily internet usage time or level of COVID-19. Meanwhile, age, study year and personal computer ownership exerted a statistically significant impact on e-learning attitudes. Teachers can better prepare for the adoption of online learning during COVID-19 and beyond by using the valuable insights provided by the findings

    Study of creatinine transport through chitosan/pectin/poly(vinyl alcohol) blend membranes

    Creatinine was final product of creatine metabolism inskeletal muscle. Increasing of creatinine showed decreasing of kidney function. Kidney fuction decreased could be treated by hemodialysis (HD). One of the natural polymer was cellulose which often used as hemodialysis membrane. Chitosan as natural membrane was used as membrane in this research because the structure was almost similar to cellulose. Chitosan was complexed by pectin and poly(vinil alcohol) (PVA) to fixed mechanical characteristic of membrane. The objective of this research were to synthesize, characterize, and know efficiency of creatinine transport using chitosan/pectin/PVA blend membranes. The functional groups of synthesized membrane were characterized by FTIR spectrophotometer. Efficiency of optimum creatinine transport was known by using membrane with chitosan and pectin ratio70:30 while PVA used 0.5%; 1.0% and 1.5%. The source and acceptor phase resulted were complexed by picric acid and analyzed by Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) Spectrophotometer. The result of membrane synthesized which was analyzed by FTIR Spectrophotometer shows that there is a band broadening on wave number 3448.72 cm-1. It is indicated that there are an overlapped stretching of hydrogen bond -OH on PVA and NH2 on chitosan. The optimum creatinine 70 ppm transported using membrane with 1.5% PVA addition is 59%

    Kajian Transpor Kreatinin Menggunakan Membran Kitosan-Alginat Tertaut Silang Polivinil Alkohol (PVA)

    A B S T R A C TThe objective of this research was to determine the efficiency of the creatinine transport using chitosan alginate cross linked by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) 0.1% with 70, 100, and 130 mg/L of creatinine concentration. The subject of this study was the membranes of chitosan alginate PVA, while the object of this study was the efficiency of the creatinine transport. The PVA 0.1% cross-linking chitosan-alginate membrane (1:0.15) was successfully synthesized. The membrane synthesized was characterized by FTIR, as well as tensile and strain test. The FTIR spectra showed that there is a new peak of the amino group of chitosan and carboxyl group of alginate at ca. 1651 cm-1. The hydroxyl group appears at ca. 1088 cm-1 while ester groups at ca. 1088 cm-1 and ca. 1265 cm-1 which indicate the cross binding between alginate and PVA. The water uptake test of the chitosan alginate PVA membrane reaches 257.76% for 6 hours. The tensile test results of the membrane before and after creatinine transport are 2.77 MPa and 12.56 MPa while the strain tests yield 14.24% and 18.51%, respectively. The maximum efficiency of the creatinine transport using the chitosan-alginate cross linked by PVA is 51.02% at 130 mg/L creatinine. This creatinine transport result using the PVA cross linking chitosan-alginate membrane are more efficient than chitosan-pectin membrane (25.24%) with the same creatinine concentration.Keywords: chitosan-alginate PVA membrane; creatinine; cross-link; synthesis; transportA B S T R A KPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan nilai efisiensi transpor kreatinin menggunakan membran kitosan-alginat tertaut silang polivinil alkohol (PVA) 0,1% dengan konsentrasi kreatinin 70, 100 dan 130 mg/L. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah membran kitosan-alginat PVA, sedangkan objek penelitian ini adalah pengaruh efisiensi transpor pada variasi konsentrasi kreatinin. Membran kitosan alginat (1:0,15) tertaut silang PVA 0,1% telah berhasil disintesis. Karakterisasi membran kitosan-alginat tertaut silang PVA diperoleh untuk spektra FTIR membran menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi pergeseran serapan gugus amino dari kitosan dan gugus karboksil dari alginat pada puncak sekitar 1651 cm-1. Pada bilangan gelombang 3363,86 cm-1 terdapat serapan gugus –OH serta pada bilangan gelombang sekitar 1088 cm-1 dan 1265 cm-1 berasal dari gugus ester yang menunjukkan ikatan silang antara alginat dan PVA. Hasil uji serapan air pada membran kitosan-alginat PVA selama 6 jam mencapai rata-rata 257,76%. Hasil uji tarik membran sebelum dan setelah transpor masing-masing: 2,77 MPa dan 12,56 MPa dan untuk hasil uji regang membran sebelum dan setelah transpor masing-masing: 14,24% dan 18,51%. Efisiensi transpor kreatinin pada membran kitosan-alginat tertaut silang PVA mencapai efisiensi transpor maksimal pada konsentrasi 130 mg/L (51,02%). Efisiensi transpor kreatinin ini lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan menggunakan membran kitosan-pektin (25,24%) pada konsentrasi yang sama.Kata kunci: kreatinin; membran kitosan-alginat PVA; sintesis; taut silang; transpo

    Exploring high school students’ attitudes towards digital game-based learning: A perspective from Indonesia

    Students’ attitudes towards Digital Game-Based Learning (DGBL) in developing countries such as Indonesia are rarely investigated despite the fact that digital games are being used in secondary education increasingly. This research aims to explore students’ attitudes towards DGBL in chemistry. We used a quantitative study method using a self-reported survey questionnaire. The study included 480 high school students (203 males and 277 females) from various public and private high schools in Indonesia. The present study employed a cross-sectional survey design to collect data in July and August 2023. The DGBL attitude scale was adapted to evaluate students’ attitudes. The questionnaire comprised 22 items assessing students’ attitudes towards digital game-based learning. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as t-tests and a one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). As a result, students expressed a slightly positive attitude towards digital games in chemistry learning particularly for learning opportunities. The results also showed that there was a significant gap in students’ attitudes with regard to gender and the daily duration of smartphone use. However, there was no significant gap regarding students’ attitudes towards digital game-based learning. The findings provide valuable insights for game designers and teachers to design and implement educational games that meet student needs and expectations in order to improve learning outcomes. The results are also useful for educators and educational researchers on how demographic factors influence students’ DGBL attitudes in chemistry education in developing countries such as Indonesia

    A study of creatinine transport using chitosan-pectin polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) membranes had been conducted. Membranes were synthesized with variations of the chitosan-pectin PEC membranes composition of (70:30), (80:20), (90:10) and later used for creatinine transport with concentrations of 70, 100, dan 130 ppm. Membranes with the optimum creatinine diffusion result were used to synthesize Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP). The MIP and non-MIP chitosan-pectin membranes were also used for the competition of creatinine, urea and vitamin B12 transport. Chitosan-pectin PEC membranes were synthesised and characterised using the infrared (IR) spectrophotometer, measurement of tensile strength and strain, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. Then, Creatinine and solution of the three competitions (creatinine, urea and vitamin B12) that has been passed through the membranes were analysed for the diffused creatinine and flux values in the MIP or non-MIP chitosan-pectin membranes. The results of chitosan-pectin PEC membrane characterization using IR spectrophotometer indicated the presence of ionic interactions between the carboxyl groups of pectin and amino groups of chitosan at wave number 1604 cm-1. The best result of non-MIP membrane transport composition ratio was 70:30. The initial concentrations of creatinine were 70, 100, and 130 ppm, resulting diffusions of creatinine of 24.29, 24.63, and 25.24% with flux values of 3.87�10-4, 6.34�10-4 and 6.53�10-4 g/m2s, respectively. The results of diffusion of creatinine using MIP membrane were 26.80, 27.53 and 28.59% with flux values of 5.88 �10-4, 6.56�10-4 and 7.00�10-4 g/m2s. Result of the competition transport between creatinine, urea and vitamin B12 using non-MIP chitosan-pectin PEC membrane produced higher diffused urea.     Permasalahan yang dialami mitra dari strategi pemasarannya yaitu Toko Puri Kawan Collection Singaraja belum memiliki strategi pemasaran yang maksimal, tentunya dijaman sekarang ini social media dalam usaha sangat penting dibuat dan dicantumkan untuk membangun lebih luas.Keberadaan Toko Puri Kawan Collection Singaraja di internet dan juga untuk membantu menaikan jumlah minat masyarakat untuk membeli.Selain itu Aspek penataan produk Toko Puri Kawan Collection Singaraja masih kurang tertata rapi.Tata letak produk belum memperhatikan unsur pengelompokan jenis, dan kegunaan barang.Atas permasalahan tersebut, mitra diberikan pembinaan dan saran terhadap strategi pemasaran kepada owner dan masing-masing kepala cabang Toko Puri Kawan cabang Singaraja, bahwa strategi pemasaran itu penting dalam menjalankan dan mengembangkan suatu bisnis untuk kedepannya. Kemudian Memberikan Pembinaan terhadap cara penataan produk, terutama dengan memperhatikan produk barang yang di buat sesuai dengan tatanan dan jenis barang. Hasil dari kegiatan praktek kerja lapangan ini 1) Pengetahuan tentang pentingnya mengenai Strategi Pemasaran dan pemanfaat media social dengan maksimal.     Pengolahan Pupuk Organik Padat dari Limbah Biogas Pada Kelompok Ternak Sedana Murti

    Kotoran ternak termasuk bahan organik yang berkualitas sebagai pupuk yang mampu diserap oleh akar tanaman. Selain sebagai pupuk organik, kotoran ternak dapat dimanfaatan sebagai sumber energi yang terbarukan. Dimana energi terbarukan ini dihasilkan dengan teknologi tepat guna yang sederhana yang berupa reaktor yang dibuat sesuai dengan kondisi daerah pedasaan. Untuk memanfaatkan kotoran ternak, Kelompok Sedana Murti yang merupakan kelompok ternak beranggotakan 10 orang yang sudah memanfaat kotoran sampi menjadi biogas. Selain energi yang dihasilkan, biogas juga menghasilkan limbah yang dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi pupuk organik. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh Kelompok Sedana Murti di Desa Bukit Banjar Tibulaka Bali bukan saja limbah kotoran sapi, tapi kini limbah hasil permentasi kotoran ternak yang keluar dari bioreaktor dalam bentuk cair dan padat. Limbah yang dihasilkan dari proses biogas mempunyai nilai ekonomis yang tinggi bila diolah menjadi pupuk organik padat dan cair. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu membantu menyelesaikan permasalah mitra tersebut dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra dalam mengolah limbah biogas menjadi pupuk organik padat yang memiliki nilai jual yang lebih tinggi dan memanfaatkan bahan campuran lainnya berupa serbuk gergaji dan dedaunan sisa pakan ternak. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahun mitra diberikan pelatihan dan praktek langsung dalam pengolahan limbah biogas menjadi pupuk organik padat. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini mitra memiliki pengetahuan dan mampu pengolahan limbah biogas menjadi pupuk organik padat. Serta mitra memiliki pengetahuan dalam memanfaatkan limbah – limbah yang ada di desa mitra sebagai bahan campuran untuk membuah pupuk organik seperti serbuk kayu dan nasi basi
