    This study is to investigate the significant relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Academic Performance. This investigate was done employing a quantitative strategy additionally an essential information was collected from understudies. In other to be in line with the quantitative approach chosen for this proposition, the medium through which information will be collected from respondent. only empathy and self-motivation has stronger influence (as in seen in the mean figures, correlation and regression analysis) on the academic performance of the students of economic department. It is found that while self-awareness, emotional management and interpersonal skill has a weak influence (as seen only in the mean and correlation figures) on the academic performance of students. Thus, this study recommends that students who want to succeed in their academic pursuit should take notes of their emotions intelligence (empathy and self-motivation skills). It is important for the University of Karachi to organize seminars either semester or yearly to enable students have a better understanding to their emotions or how it influences their education and academic performance

The paper concludes that there is a significant prediction performance of all ASE indices of the Jordanian market by using Box-Jenkins estimation.     Publication dynamics: What can be done to eliminate barriers to publishing full manuscripts by the postgraduate trainees of a low-middle income country?

    Objectives: This study aimed to determine the publication rate of free paper abstracts presented by the postgraduate (PG) trainees and determine the reasons for non-publication. A mixed methods study was conducted. PG trainees presenting free papers at the at the Pakistan Society of Chemical Pathologist conferences from 2012 to 2018 were included. Three databases were searched to identify if the abstracts were published or not. The PG trainee authors of abstracts not published as full manuscript, were surveyed to determine the barriers and challenges in publishing a manuscript.Results: The average rate of full manuscript publication was 51.8% (n = 93/177) for the abstracts presented by the PG trainees. Publication rate was higher for oral (n = 73/119, 61.3%) compared to poster presentation (n = 20/58, 34.5%). Most of the manuscripts were published after two years of abstract presentation. The survey showed that the main challenges to publishing an abstract were lack of time, limited scientific writing or submission skills, lack of funding for publication fee, and negative or statistically non-significant results. This reflects a need to arrange workshops/symposia for the PG trainees of low-middle income country (LMIC) to enhance their writing and time management skills and improve the full manuscript publication rate from LMICs

    Graphene and graphene oxide nanocomposites are promising and fascinating types of nanocomposites because of their fast kinetics, unique affinity for heavy metals, and greater specific area. Initially, in this study, a green, cost-effective and facile method was utilized to prepare G, GO, CdO, G-CdO, and CdO-GO nanocomposites by Azadirachta indica and then analyzed using UV–vis spectroscopy, Fourier-transform spectroscopy, Raman, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The synthesized nanocomposites were explored for chromium elimination from wastewater collected from a petroleum refinery. CdO-GO, G-CdO nanocomposites showed remarkable adsorption capability of 699 and 430 mg g−1 which was higher than G (80 mg g−1), GO (65 mg g−1), and CdO (400 mg g−1). Based on the R2 (correlation coefficient) values, the kinetic statistics of Cr (VI) onto the G, GO, CdO, G-CdO, and CdO-GO were effectively obeyed by pseudo-second-order than by all other models. The R2 values for the five nano-bioadsorbents were extraordinarily high (R2 greater than 0.990) which ensured the chemisorption. This study ensured that the adsorptive removal rate of Cr (VI) is still greater than 85 % after repeated five cycles, suggesting that the produced nanomaterials are adsorbents with strong recyclability

    Burden of depression and anxiety among patients with inflammatory bowel disease: results of a nationwide analysis

    PURPOSE: The burden of psychiatric disorders is on a rise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients which has shown to effect medication compliance and overall clinical outcomes. We studied the prevalence of depression and anxiety in IBD patients when compared to individuals with other chronic medical conditions. METHODS: This is a retrospective cohort study using the United States national inpatient sample of 2016 to 2018. We identified patient encounters with a diagnosis of IBD. Our primary outcome was prevalence of depression and anxiety in IBD patients when compared to general adult population with other chronic medical conditions. We further studied these outcomes in subgroups of patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn\u27s disease. RESULTS: A total of 963,619 patient encounters were identified with the diagnosis of IBD between 2016 and 2018, of them 162,850 (16.9%) had depression and 201,685 (20.9%) had anxiety. The prevalence of depression and anxiety was significantly higher in IBD patients in comparison to general population, (16.9% vs 12.3%) and (20.9% vs 15%) respectively (p \u3c 0.001). Association of depression and anxiety was also higher in IBD patients when compared to patients with other chronic conditions like diabetes, metastatic cancer, and coronary artery disease. Crohn\u27s disease and ulcerative colitis were independently associated with increased odds of depression and anxiety and these results were statistically significant (p \u3c 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: IBD is associated with increased prevalence of depression and anxiety when compared to general population. Association of these psychiatric illnesses with IBD is significantly higher when compared to other chronic medical conditions

    Nanotechnology emerged as a scientific innovation in the 21st century. Metallic nanoparticles (metal or metal oxide nanoparticles) have attained remarkable popularity due to their interesting biological, physical, chemical, magnetic, and optical properties. Metal-based nanoparticles can be prepared by utilizing different biological, physical, and chemical methods. The biological method is preferred as it provides a green, simple, facile, ecofriendly, rapid, and cost-effective route for the green synthesis of nanoparticles. Plants have complex phytochemical constituents such as carbohydrates, amino acids, phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, and proteins, which can behave as reducing and stabilizing agents. However, the mechanism of green synthesis by using plants is still highly debatable. In this report, we summarized basic principles or mechanisms of green synthesis especially for metal or metal oxide (i.e., ZnO, Au, Ag, and TiO2, Fe, Fe2O3, Cu, CuO, Co) nanoparticles.
