Results of the Implementation of the Extended Dantzig-Wolfe Method

    Get PDF
In this work we write a Matlab program and apply it to solve chosen problems. The program uses subprograms such as : htu(G,A) , to evaluate the inverse of the active Lagrangian matrix, using the QR-factorizationof the matrix of constraints when the tableau is complementary. (We know that H,U and T define the inverse ofthe upper left partition of the basis matrix.).This calls for making them available at every complementarytableau. Also, it uses: init(A,G) to obtain an initial feasible point to the main algorithm. solver (A,b), is used tosolve a subsystem in the main algorithm. lufactors (A), is used by solver

Coumarins from the roots of Cleme Viscosa (L.) antimicrobial and cytotoxic studies

AbstractTwo coumarins, 7-geranyloxycoumarin (auraptene) and 6′-hydroxy-β-cycloauraptene were isolated from the roots of Cleme viscosa (Capparidaceae). The second compound has never been reported previously from this plant. The isolation process involved extraction with various solvents and separation using column chromatography techniques. The structure of the compounds was assigned on the basis of spectroscopic data Such as IR, UV, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, COSY, HMQC, HMBC, DEPT and MS. However, bioactivity screening showed that the pure isolated compounds possessed no activity on two species of bacteria Bacillus cereus NRRLUI-1447 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa UI-60690 and four species of fungi (Aspergillus ochraceus NRRL 398, Candida lipolytica ATCC 2075, Sacchromyces cereviseae NRRL 2034 and Sacchromyces lipolytica). The cytotoxic test of the compounds against CEM-SS (T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia) cells were also carried out with IC50 values of 14 and 18μg/ml,respectively

Implementation of The Extended Dantzig – Wolfe Method

In this paper implementation of the extended Dantzig - Wolfe method to solve a general quadratic programming problem is presented ,that is, obtaining a local minimum of a quadratic function subject to inequality constraints. The method terminates successfully at a KT point in a finite number of steps.  No extra effort is needed when the function is non-convex. The method solve convex quadratic programming problems.  It is a simplex like procedure to the Dantzig - Wolfe method[1].   So, it is, the same as the Dantzig – Wolfe method when the Hessian matrix of the quadratic function is positive definite[7]. The obvious difference between our method and the Dnatzig – Wolfe method is in the possibility of decreasing the complement of the new variable that has just become non-basic. In the practical implementation of the method we inherit the computational features of the active set methods using the matrices H, U and T, and in particular the stable features [5]. The features (i.e, the stable features) are achieved by using orthogonal factorizations of the matrix of active constraints when the tableau is complementary

    Metabolic Processes During Seed Germination

    Get PDF
Seed germination is crucial stage in plant development and can be considered as a determinant for plant productivity. Physiological and biochemical changes followed by morphological changes during germination are strongly related to seedling survival rate and vegetative growth which consequently affect yield and quality. This study is aimed to focus on proceeding of the most vital metabolic processes namely reserve mobilization, phytohormonal regulation, glyoxylate cycle and respiration process under either stressful or non-stressful conditions that may be led to suggest and conduct the more successful experimental improvements. Seed imbibition triggered the activation of various metabolic processes such as synthesis of hydrolytic enzymes which resulted in hydrolysis of reserve food into simple available form for embryo uptake. Abiotic stresses potentially affect seed germination and seedling establishment through various factors, such as a reduction in water availability, changes in the mobilization of stored reserves, hormonal balance alteration and affecting the structural organization of proteins. Recent strategies for improving seed quality involved classical genetic, molecular biology and invigoration treatments known as priming treatments. H2O2 accumulation and associated oxidative damages together with a decline in antioxidant mechanisms can be regarded as a source of stress that may suppress germination. Seed priming was aimed primarily to control seed hydration by lowering external water potential, or shortening the hydration period

Simulasi Sistem Bonus-malus pada Asuransi Kendaraan Bermotor Berdasarkan Jenis Kecelakaan dan Tingkat Keparahan

    Get PDF

The unsteady three-dimensional flow of couple stress fluid over a stretched surface is investigated. Analysis has been performed in the presence of mass transfer and chemical reaction. Nonlinear flow analysis is computed by a homotopic approach. Plots are presented and analyzed for the various parameters of interest. A comparative study with existing solutions in a limiting sense is made
