The paper presents analytical and semi-numerical solution for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over a exponentially permeable shrinking sheet. The governing partial differential equations of momentum equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by using a classical similarity transformation along with appropriate boundary conditions. Both nonlinearity and infinite interval demand novel mathematical tools for their analysis. We use fast converging Dirichlet series and approximate analytical solution by the Method of stretching of variables for the solution of the nonlinear differential equation. These methods have the advantages over pure numerical methods for obtaining the derived quantities accurately for various values of the parameters involved at a stretch and also they are valid in much larger parameter domain as compared with HAM, HPM, ADM and the classical numerical schemes.Publisher's Versio

Solution of pressure gradient stretching plate with suction

    Get PDF
Solutions for the boundary value problem over an infinite domain have been obtained by first transforming the two-dimensional laminar boundary layer equations into an ordinary differential equation through similarity variables. The governing problem is the two-parameter Falkner-Skan equation with β, the streamwise pressure gradient and γ the suction velocity. The closed form solution for β = -1 obtained earlier is rewritten, which is then generalized for generalβ. The same equation is also solved using method of stretching of variables. Different velocity profiles have been observed for both β and γ. The results from both approaches are compared with that of direct numerical solutions, which agree very well. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. The paper presents an isothermal Elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) of line contact problem with grease as a lubricant, described by Herschel-Bulkley model. The simulation of the governing problem is analyzed using Multigrid method with full approximation scheme (FAS) for varying load, speed and rheological index n Herschel-Bulkley model. The EHL problem considered comprises of Reynolds equation and film thickness understudy for different parameters of interest. The minimum film thickness and pressure spike decrease with a decrease in rheological index n. The present paper traces out the comparison of minimum film thickness with the standard results of Dowson and Higginson. The results obtained are comparable and are presented in terms of graphs and tables

    Get PDF
The impact of air quality has to be taken into consideration especially when dealing with different chemical gases in an enclosed Chemistry Laboratory. Thus the monitoring of the environment or the air quality in the Chemistry Laboratory is essential to detect the amount of concentration of gases in the air so as to develop appropriate strategies to reduce the adverse effect of air quality on the health of people working in the laboratory. The Environment Monitoring System is designed using the Wireless Sensor Network technology. Wireless Sensor Network along with Internet of Things allows the use of various sensors to detect the environmental condition and to collect the sensor data thus permitting data integration. The system designed to monitor the environmental conditions in the Chemistry Laboratory is divided into three parts:1] Sensor node: That collects and transmits the sensor data to the central repository or the Sink node 2] Sink node: It is the core node in the network performing important functions like data storage, data collaboration, computing and data integration 3] Web Interface: Development of a Web application so as to provide access to the remote user to the sensor data and also for visualization of data in a systematic manner for further analysis. The system consists of sensor nodes designed using the Atmega328 microcontroller along with a nRF24l01 module for wireless communication and various analog sensors. The base station is designed by using the open source hardware Raspberry Pi, nRF24l01 module and analog sensors. A Web Server Interface is created to access the sensor data for the user.

In today's retail landscape, shopping malls and e-commerce platforms employ various psychological tactics to influence customer behavior and increase profits. In line with these strategies, this paper introduces an innovative method for recognizing sentiment patterns, with a specific emphasis on the evolving temporal aspects of user interests within Recommendation Systems (RS). The projected method, called Temporal Dynamic Features based User Sentiment Pattern for Recommendation System (TDF-USPRS), aims to enhance the performance of RS by leveraging sentiment trends derived from a user's past preferences. TDF-USPRS utilizes a hybrid model combining Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and a layered architecture based on Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) to retrieve temporal dynamics and discern a user's sentiment trend. Through an examination of a user's sequential history of item preferences, TDF-USPRS produces sentiment patterns to offer exceptionally pertinent recommendations, even in cases of sparse datasets. A variety of popular datasets, including as MovieLens, Amazon Rating Beauty, YOOCHOOSE, and CiaoDVD are utilised to assess the suggested technique. The TDF-USPRS model outperforms existing approaches, according to experimental data, resulting in recommendations with greater accuracy and relevance. Comparing the projected model to existing approaches, the projected model displays a 6.5% reduction in RMSE and a 4.5% gain in precision. Specifically, the model achieves an RMSE of 0.7623 and 0.996 on the MovieLens and CiaoDVD datasets, while attaining a precision score of 0.5963 and 0.165 on the YOOCHOOSE and Amazon datasets, respectively

Decompression of JPEG Document Images: A Survey Paper

    Get PDF
JPEG Decompression techniques are very useful in 3G/4G based markets, handheld devices and infrastructures. There are many challenging issues in previously proposed decompression methods, like very high computational cost, and heavy distortion in ringing and blocking artifacts which makes the image invisible. To improve the visual quality of the JPEG document images at low bit rate and at low computational cost, we are going to implement the decompression technique for JPEG document images. We first divide the JPEG document image into smooth and non-smooth blocks with the help of Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). Then the smooth blocks (background , uniform region) are decoded in the transform domain by minimizing the Total Block Boundary Variation(TBBV). In this we propose to compute the block variation directly in the DCT domain at the super pixel level. The super pixel have size n*n, each super pixel is assigned with an average intensity value. The smooth blocks are then reconstructed by using the Newton’s method. The implementation of the smooth block decompression will be done here. The non-smooth blocks of the document image contains the text and graphics/line drawing objects. The post processing algorithm will be introduced which takes into consideration the specificities of document content. The inverse DCT is applied to represent the image in spatial domain. So the implementation of the non-smooth block decompression will be done here. Finally, we design different experimental results and analyze that our system is better than the existing. And it will show the quality improvement of decompressed JPEG document image
