Techniques for Production of Large Area Graphene for Electronic and Sensor Device Applications

    Get PDF
AbstractHere we review commonly used techniques for the production of large area and high quality graphene to meet the requirements of industrial applications, including epitaxial growth on SiC, chemical vapour deposition (CVD) on transition metals and growth from solid carbon source. The review makes a comparison of the growth mechanisms, quality (such as mobility and homogeneity) and properties of the resultant graphene, limitations and the prospect of each production method. A particular focus of the review is on direct (transfer free) growth on dielectric substrate as this is potentially one of the promising techniques for graphene production which can readily be integrated into existing semiconductor fabrication processes.</jats:p

Diasporic Agencies: Mapping the City Otherwise

    Get PDF
Diasporic Agencies addresses the neglected subject of how architecture and urban design can respond to the consequences of increasing migration. Arguing that diasporic inhabitations can only be understood as the co-production of space, subjectivity and politics, the book explores questions of difference, belonging and movement in the city. Through focusing on a series of examples, it reveals how diasporas produce new types of spaces and develop new subjectivities in the contemporary European metropolis. It explores the way in which geo-politics affects individual lives and how national and regional borders inscribe themselves onto diasporic bodies. The book claims that the multiple belongings of diasporic citizens, half-here and half-there, provoke a crisis in the standard modes of architectural representation that tend to homogenise and flatten experience. Instead Diasporic Agencies makes a case for a non-representational approach, where the displacement of the diasporic subject and their consequent reterritorialisation of space are developed as modes of thinking and doing. In parallel, mapping otherwise is proposed as a tool for spatial practitioners to work with these multi-layered spaces. The book is aimed at spatial practitioners and theorists of all sorts - architects, artists, geographers, urban designers - anyone with a general interest in mapping or those interested in working through issues related to migration and the contemporary city

Flooding in Mutiara Witayu Recidence caused a big problem for the local communities. This situation led the government taking an action to relocate and plan a construction of retention pond as a settlement of the flood in the region. The purpose of this study was to get a sufficient retention pond capacity to accommodate the flood discharge at the sites. During it's planning, hydrological analysis was conducted with rainfall data from the Office of Hydrology station for 20 years. Log Person III probability distribution and 5 year retense were used for the analysis. EPA SWMM program was used to analyze the flow of runoff existing in this study. The flooding problem was due to the runoff water which could not flow out into the outfall caused by the operation of the sluice. So it was necessary to accommodate the construction of retention pond during the discharge of the runoff of rainwater. The retention pond with a capacity of 23,000 m3 with a maximum depth of 1 m and ponded area of 23,000 m2, was planned in the study site. Based on the running program, it was found that the addition of a retention pond with that capacity could effectively accommodate the flood discharge at the sites. The cost required to build retention pond was Rp. 7,810,000,700.00 (Seven Billion Eight Hundred and Ten Million Seven Hundred Rupiahs)
