Discovery of an isolated compact elliptical galaxy in the field

We present the discovery of an isolated compact elliptical (cE) galaxy, found during a search of SDSS DR7 for cEs, and for which we obtained WHT/ACAM imaging. It is ~900 kpc distant from its nearest neighbour, has an effective r-band radius of ~500 pc and a B-band mean surface brightness within its effective radius of 19.75 mag/arcsec. Serendipitous deep SuprimeCam imaging shows that there is no underlying disk. Its isolated position suggests that there is an alternative channel to the stripping scenario for the formation of compact ellipticals. We also report analysis of recent deeper imaging of the previous candidate free-flying cE, which shows that it is, in fact, a normal dwarf elliptical (dE). Impact Analysis of Malware Based on Call Network API with Heuristic Detection Method

Malware is a program that has a negative influence on computer systems that don\u27t have user permissions. The purpose of making malware by hackers is to get profits in an illegal way. Therefore, we need a malware analysis. Malware analysis aims to determine the specifics of malware so that security can be built to protect computer devices. One method for analyzing malware is heuristic detection. Heuristic detection is an analytical method that allows finding new types of malware in a file or application. Many malwares are made to attack through the internet because of technological advancements. Based on these conditions, the malware analysis is carried out using the API call network with the heuristic detection method. This aims to identify the behavior of malware that attacks the network. The results of the analysis carried out are that most malware is spyware, which is lurking user activity and retrieving user data without the user\u27s knowledge. In addition, there is also malware that is adware, which displays advertisements through pop-up windows on computer devices that interfaces with user activity. So that with these results, it can also be identified actions that can be taken by the user to protect his computer device, such as by installing antivirus or antimalware, not downloading unauthorized applications and not accessing unsafe websites. &nbsp

Evaluation of Onion Genotypes for Growth and Bulb Yield in Mid Hill of Nepal

Experiments were conducted at Horticulture Research Division (HRD), Khumaltar, Lalitpur; and Horticulture Research Station (HRS), Kimugaun, Dailekh in 2017/18 to evaluate the high yielding open pollinated genotypes of onion in mid hills of both locations.  Five onion genotypes namely AVON-1016, AVON-1027, AVON-1028, AVON-1052, AVON-1074 and AVON-1103 received from Asian Vegetable Research and Development Centre were evaluated with local check variety and recommended variety Red Creole in both locations in randomized complete block design with 4 replications. The main objective of the experiment is to findout the high yielding open pollinated onion genotypes for mid hill condition.The pooled analysis of data over locations showed significant differences on plant height, neck diameter, bulb diameter, weight of bulbs and adjusted bulb yield per hectare.   Introduced genotypes AVON 1027 (38.83 t/ha), AVON 1052 (31.97 t/ha) and AVON 1028 (31.48 t/ha) produced significantly higher yield than recommended and commercially cultivated check variety Red Creole (27.04 t/ha). Therefore the genotype AVON 1027 can be selected as the best genotype for growing in mid hills of Nepa

Ascending the Avon: fishes of the Northam Pool, and the Swan-Avon catchment

The fish fauna in the vicinity of the Northam Pool Weir was sampled seasonally between winter 2008 and autumn 2009. The results indicate that the fish community was characterised by species that are halotolerant including two estuarine species, the Western Hardyhead and Swan River Goby that are likely to have undergone large upstream expansions in the Swan‐Avon catchment due to secondary salinisation. However, two freshwater endemic species, the Western Minnow and Nightfish were also recorded in the vicinity of the weir. These, and other freshwater endemic species, have undergone large range reductions in this catchment as a result of salinisation. The study found evidence that the weir may be impeding the upstream movements of native fishes as found elsewhere in south‐western Australia and that construction of a well‐designed fishway would enhance population connectivity and increase their sustainability. It is recommended that additional sampling occurs during the major spawning periods of the freshwater species immediately below the weir to determine precisely when a future fishway would need to operate to allow maximum usage by resident native species. It is also recommended that fresh refuge habitats for freshwater fishes be identified to allow effective management measures to be implemented in those systems to halt their decline and reduce the risk of complete loss of these species from the Swan‐Avon catchment
