On-shell two-loop three-gluon vertex
The two-loop three-gluon vertex is calculated in an arbitrary covariant
gauge, in the limit when two of the gluons are on the mass shell. The
corresponding two-loop results for the ghost-gluon vertex are also obtained. It
is shown that the results are consistent with the Ward-Slavnov-Taylor
identities.Comment: 34 pages, LaTeX, including 5 figures, uses eps
Second harmonic generation in SiC polytypes
LMTO calculations are presented for the frequency dependent second harmonic
generation (SHG) in the polytypes 2H, 4H, 6H, 15R and 3C of SiC. All
independent tensor components are calculated. The spectral features and the
ratios of the 333 to 311 tensorial components are studied as a function of the
degree of hexagonality. The relationship to the linear optical response and the
underlying band structure are investigated. SHG is suggested to be a sensitive
tool for investigating the near band edge interband excitations.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figure
Second harmonic generation and birefringence of some ternary pnictide semiconductors
A first-principles study of the birefringence and the frequency dependent
second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficients of the ternary pnictide
semiconductors with formula ABC (A = Zn, Cd; B = Si, Ge; C = As, P) with
the chalcopyrite structures was carried out. We show that a simple empirical
observation that a smaller value of the gap is correlated with larger value of
SHG is qualitatively true. However, simple inverse power scaling laws between
gaps and SHG were not found. Instead, the real value of the nonlinear response
is a result of a very delicate balance between different intraband and
interband terms.Comment: 13 pages, 12 figure
Transcriptional Profile Associated with Clinical Outcomes in Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer Treated with Androgen Deprivation and Docetaxel
(1) Background: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and docetaxel (DX) combination is a standard therapy for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) patients. (2) Methods: We investigate if tumor transcriptomic analysis predicts mHSPC evolution in a multicenter retrospective biomarker study. A customized panel of 184 genes was tested in mRNA from tumor samples by the nCounter platform in 125 mHSPC patients treated with ADT+DX. Gene expression was correlated with castration-resistant prostate cancer-free survival (CRPC-FS) and overall survival (OS). (3) Results: High expression of androgen receptor (AR) signature was independently associated with longer CRPC-FS (hazard ratio (HR) 0.6, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.3-0.9; p = 0.015), high expression of estrogen receptor (ESR) signature with longer CRPC-FS (HR 0.6, 95% CI 0.4-0.9; p = 0.019) and OS (HR 0.5, 95% CI 0.2-0.9, p = 0.024), and lower expression of tumor suppressor genes (TSG) (RB1, PTEN and TP53) with shorter OS (HR 2, 95% CI 1-3.8; p = 0.044). ARV7 expression was independently associated with shorter CRPC-FS (HR 1.5, 95% CI 1.1-2.1, p = 0.008) and OS (HR 1.8, 95% CI 1.2-2.6, p = 0.004), high ESR2 was associated with longer OS (HR 0.5, 95% CI 0.2-1, p = 0.048) and low expression of RB1 was independently associated with shorter OS (HR 1.9, 95% CI 1.1-3.2, p = 0.014). (4) Conclusions: AR, ESR, and TSG expression signatures, as well as ARV7, RB1, and ESR2 expression, have a prognostic value in mHSPC patients treated with ADT+DX

The future of Cybersecurity in Italy: Strategic focus area
This volume has been created as a continuation of the previous one, with the aim of outlining a set of focus areas and actions that the Italian Nation research community considers essential. The book touches many aspects of cyber security, ranging from the definition of the infrastructure and controls needed to organize cyberdefence to the actions and technologies to be developed to be better protected, from the identification of the main technologies to be defended to the proposal of a set of horizontal actions for training, awareness raising, and risk management
The European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) consensus recommendations for donor selection in haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation
The number of HLA-haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplants continues to increase worldwide due to recent improvements in outcomes, allowing more patients with hematological malignancies and non-malignant disorders to benefit from this procedure and have a chance to cure their disease. Despite these encouraging results, questions remain as multiple donors are usually available for transplantation, and choosing the best HLA-haploidentical donor for transplantation remains a challenge. Several approaches to haploidentical transplantation have been developed over time and, based on the graft received, can be grouped as follows: T-cell depleted haploidentical transplants, either complete or partial, or with T-cell replete grafts, performed with post-transplant cyclophosphamide-based graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis, or G-CSF-primed bone marrow graft and enhanced GVHD prophylaxis. Carefully selecting the donor can help optimize transplant outcomes for recipients of haploidentical donor transplants. Variables usually considered in the donor selection include presence of donor-specific antibodies in the recipient, donor age, donor/recipient gender and ABO combinations, and immunogenic variables, such as natural killer cell alloreactivity or KIR haplotype. Here we provide a comprehensive review of available evidence for selecting haploidentical donors for transplantation, and summarize the recommendations from the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) on donor selection for different transplant platforms
Resolved Photon Processes
We review the present level of knowledge of the hadronic structure of the
photon, as revealed in interactions involving quarks and gluons ``in" the
photon. The concept of photon structure functions is introduced in the
description of deep--inelastic scattering, and existing
parametrizations of the parton densities in the photon are reviewed. We then
turn to hard \gamp\ and \gaga\ collisions, where we treat the production of
jets, heavy quarks, hard (direct) photons, \jpsi\ mesons, and lepton pairs. We
also comment on issues that go beyond perturbation theory, including recent
attempts at a comprehensive description of both hard and soft \gamp\ and \gaga\
interactions. We conclude with a list of open problems.Comment: LaTeX with equation.sty, 85 pages, 29 figures (not included). A

Clinical applications of donor lymphocyte infusion from an HLA-haploidentical donor: consensus recommendations from the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the EBMT
Donor lymphocyte infusion has been used in the management of relapsed hematologic malignancies after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. It can eradicate minimal residual disease or be used to rescue a hematologic relapse, being able to induce durable remissions in a subset of patients. With the increased use of haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation, there is renewed interest in the use of donor lymphocytes to either treat or prevent disease relapse post transplant. Published retrospective and small prospective studies have shown encouraging results with therapeutic donor lymphocyte infusion in different haploidentical transplantation platforms. In this consensus paper, finalized on behalf of the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, we summarize the available evidence on the use of donor lymphocyte infusion from haploidentical donor, and provide recommendations on its therapeutic, pre-emptive and prophylactic use in clinical practice
