    No full text
A study of effect of inclusion of calcium-palm fatty acid (Ca-PFA) in the diets on growthperformance and profile of body fatty acid has been conducted for 4 weeks in broiler. A total of 160birds were used in present experiment which was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with 4treatments and 5 replications (8 birds each). Dietary inclusions of Ca-PFA of 0, 5, 10 and 15% werereflected as R0, R1, R2 and R3, respectively. Results of the experiment showed that growth performancebased on the feed consumption significantly decreased (p<0.05), but there were no significant (p>0.05)effect for final body weight, carcass percentage and carcass composition. The inclusion of Ca-PFA in thediet was not affected the saturated fatty acid (p>0.05), but showed significant effect on unsaturated fattyacid and omega-3 fatty acid (p<0.05). Body fat distribution was not affected by inclusion level of Ca-PFA at a level of 15%. In conclusion, the inclusion of Ca-PFA in the diet until 15% decreased feedconsumption and produced similar growth performance, however it increased unsaturated fatty acid,omega-3 fatty acids and decreased body fat of broiler

Additional turmeric powder (curcuminoid) into traditional ration to improve the productivity of bali pig

Bali Pig is one of germplasm whose existence is very limited until now. This is due to the very low growth and breeding compared to other types such as Landrace pigs, Duroc, and Laghwhite. However, Bali pig has an advantage among others such as able to utilize lack quality feed so it is suitable to maintain in rural areas. To keep the existence of Bali pig, a necessary attempt needed to avoid extinction. One of its ways is to make improved feed by adding turmeric powder (curcuminoid). The benefits of giving curcuminoid are able to increase the appetite, increase the utilization of nutrients such as fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. This research method used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were: Treatment A: swine rations that did not contain turmeric powder (extract curcuminoid), Treatment B: swine rations contained turmeric powder (extract curcuminoid), 0,02 ml/1 kilogram body weight, Treatment C: swine rations contained turmeric powder (extract curcuminoid 0.04 ml/1 kilogram body weight), and Treatment D: swine rations contained turmeric powder (extract curcuminoid)

The aim of this study was to find out the influence of vitamin-mineral supplementation ondigestibility and rumen fermentation in Bali cattle. The randomized block design with 4 treatments and 4replications were used in the research. In this study was used 16 Bali cattle with body weight around295.31+23.07 kg. Rations used in the treatments were Treatment A (control): rice straw ad libitum pluscommercial feed; Treatment B: Treatment A ration plus 0.2% vitamin-mineral in commercial feed;Treatment C: Treatment A ration plus 0.3% vitamin-mineral in commercial feed, and Treatment D:Treatment A ration plus 0.4% vitamin-mineral in commercial feed. Parameters measured were nutrientdigestibility, rumen metabolites and urinary allantoin. The results showed that supplementation ofvitamin-mineral at 0.2 - 0.4% in commercial feed did not increase the digestibility of dry matter, organicmatter, crude protein and crude fiber, except for dry matter and organic matter digestibilities at 0.2%supplementation (p<0.05). However, the vitamin-mineral supplementation increased concentrations ofpartial VFA and ammonia as well as for methane gas production, except for VFA and ammonia at 0.4%level. Vitamin-mineral supplementation at 0.2-0.4% level did not affected pH value of rumen fluid andurinary allantoin

Livestock group of Kaliakah Village, Jembrana Regency is one of the groups which are raising bali cattle in theirdaily life. Their members are mostly farmers having productive lands. They feed their cattle with greens obtainedby trimming the grass, however they sometimes feed them with rice-straws although somehow they do not proceedmaximally them. Referring to the above conditions, we conducted socialization and demonstration about how toproceed rice-straws and cattleā€™s manure by bio-fermentation technology. Rice-straws were proceeded by biochastfermentor and manure with Rumino Bacillus. Biochast, in one hand consists of Ruminococcus, Bakteroides,Lactobacillus and Streptococcus. On the other hand Rumino Bacillus consists of Rummino Coccus and Bacillus.Sugar is a fermentation media. Rice-straws and manure processes were completely done from 1 until 2 weeks. The proceeded rice-straws can be stored until 3 to 4 months, however manures can be anytim

Observed variables included consumption, overall weight gain, daily weight gain, FCR and digestibility. The results showed that the average consumption and weight gain in treatment curcuminoid 0,04/1 kilogram bodyweight showed the highest result among the four treatments. Level FCR in 0,04 ml/1 kilogram bodyweight curcuminoid treatmentĀ  showed the most efficient result and the dry matter digestibility showed significant results (P <0.01). However, organic matter digestibility, crude fiber and protein digestibility showed a non-significant (P> 0.01) result. Overall, ration treatment with curcuminoid 0,04 ml/1 kilogram bodyweight showed the best results
