    Constructing Self Awareness Using Education Human Value In School Culture

    The big number of poverty in Indonesia impact to the hope of having  a free learning service, especially education for early age and elementary school  students  from  the less fortunate families. Many people usually ask the quality of such kinds of free of charge  schools. The low price makes a low standard for the students. Denpasar Sathya Sai School has proven that the free learning service does not mean the standard quality of the school is low. Using a qualitative approach, this case study was conducted at the Denpasar Sathya Sai School, which has distinctive characteristics. The data were extracted through in-depth observation of the learning activities and learning environment of children in school and FGD (focus group discussion) with classroom teachers, school of kindergarten head, principal of elementary school, foundation and parents.     Influence of mind mapping method implementation on learning results social science is required from students interest

    This study aimed at investigating the effect of the implementation of mind mapping learning method to the students’ social science achievement viewed from learning interest at the fourth-grade students of an elementary school in Denpasar city in the academic year 2016/2017. This study was quasi-experimental research which applied the posttest-only control group design involving 80 students of grade four at elementary school in Denpasar city who were selected by using the total sample sampling technique. The data of the students’ social science achievement and learning interest were collected and then analyzed using the Analysis of Covariance (Anacova). The result of this study showed that the students’ social science achievement who were treated with mind mapping learning method was higher compared to the students’ social science achievement of those treated with the conventional learning method. This difference was consistent even though the students’ learning interest has been controlled. Based on the result of this study, it is suggested that mind mapping learning method be applied in the teaching and learning process of social science at the elementary school

    This study aims at analyzing the tendency of deviant behavior found among the secondary school students studying in the tourism areas in Denpasar. The problem has been analyzed using the social reconstruction learning model with some character education. It applied the quasi-experiment method with the factorial 2x2 design and involved 80 students. It demonstrates an analysis of variance (ANOVA) of two lines. The study shows that there is the effect of the model towards the deviant behavioral interaction. The model is believed to be effective in growing the students ‘self-awareness’ with all of uniqueness and personalities which include building the concept of objectiveness, self-actualization, self-creativeness, as well as understanding the various aspects of social lives

    This study aimed at delving into and understanding the potential of local culture in the framework of the nation and character building. The study used a qualitative approach. Data analysis is presented in verbal form. The data collection method used to support the implementation of this research is the documentation method and from this approach, it was obtained that “matembang” is one of the traditions full of didactic, humanistic, and spiritual values. In the context of nation and state life, this culture is closely related to ethics, morality, and politeness and highly integrated human personalities with patriotic spirit.  That is why Balinese Hindus use this culture as character education media. In its development, the “matembang” culture has not only become a local but has reflected a national and even global culture
