Objective To develop and evaluate a theoretical model to explain the relationships between eHealth literacy and perception of health, and perception of pregnancy risk in pregnant women. Method This cross-sectional study was carried out with 238 pregnant women in one of the hospitals in Turkey between March 15, 2021 and May 15, 2021. Data were collected using an Information Form, eHealth Literacy Scale, Perception of Health Scale, and Perception of Pregnancy Risk Questionnaire. Results The mean scores of the pregnant women participating in the study on eHealth literacy and perception of health were 30.45 +/- 6.56 and 51.42 +/- 6.91, respectively and their mean score on perception of pregnancy risk was 42.6 +/- 29.38. The direct effect of the eHealth Literacy Scale on the "Risk for Baby" subscale of the Perception of Pregnancy Risk Questionnaire was insignificant whereas the scale's effect became significant with the Perception of Health Scale (beta = -0.006; 0.057). Conclusion To reduce the perception of risk in pregnant women, it is important to improve not only their eHealth literacy but also their knowledge and attitudes about being healthy

Bu tez çalışmasının amacı; Zhang Yimou'nun filmlerinde kadının Çin kültüründeki toplumsal rolünün ve geleneksel Çin Sineması'ndaki temsilinin yıkıldığını göstermektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Zhang Yimou'nun dünya çapında en çok izlenen filmlerinden Kahraman (Ying Xiang - Hero, 2002), Parlayan Hançerler (Shi Mian Mai Fu House Of Flying Daggers, 2004), Altın Çiçeğin Laneti (Man Cheng Jin Dai Huang Jin Jia Curse Of The Golden Flower, 2006) örnek olarak alınmış ve filmlerde kadının sunum biçimi incelenmiştir. Öncelikle Çin Sinema Tarihi, ardından Beşinci Kuşak Yönetmenler incelenmiş, ardından Zhang Yimou'nun sinema dilini oluşturan arka plan, hayatı ve başından geçenler irdelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise çalışmaya konu olan filmler Greimas'ın oluşturduğu göstergebilimsel dörtgen yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Çözümlemeler sonucunda varsayımlar doğrulanmış, Zhang Yimou'nun geleneksel Çin Sineması'ndaki kadın temsilini yıktığı ve kök arama ve kimlik inşa etme sürecine katkı sağlayarak kadının ve toplumun kimliğini yeniden ürettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.The aim of this study is to demonstrate the representation of the social role of women in Chinese culture and traditional Chinese cinema in Zhang Yimou's films was overturned. For this purpose the worldwide most-watched films of Zhang Yimou Hero (2002), House of Flying Daggers (2004), Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) were taken as examples and forms of representation of woman was investigated in these films. Firstly Chinese Film History then Fifth Generation Directors were examined afterwards the background constitudes the language of Zhang Yimou's films, his life and experiences were semtinized. In the second part films that are the subject of this study were analyzed using the semiotic square developed by Greimas. As a result of analysis assumptions have been verified; it has been concluded that Zhang Yimou transformes the representation of woman in traditional Chinese Cinema and re-produces the identity of woman and the Chinese Society by contributing to the process of identity construction and root searching

Relationship between nutrient profiles, carbon footprint and water footprint of hospital menus

No full text
AbstractPurpose – This study aims to evaluate the nutrient profile, carbon footprint and water footprint ofone-month menus presented in five hospitals in Turkey and compare their environmental impacts with that ofthe Mediterranean diet.Design/methodology/approach – The energy and nutrient content of menus were compared withrecommendations of the Turkey Dietary Guidelines (TUBER) 2022. Nutrient profiles of hospital menus wereevaluated using Nutrient Rich Food 9.3 (NRF 9.3) and SAIN-LIM models. The carbon and water footprints ofthe menus were calculated and compared with those of the Mediterranean diet.Findings – Menus’ energy and nutrient content did not conform with TUBER 2022. The SAIN-LIM score ofHospital A (5.7 6 1.1) was significantly higher than that of Hospitals C (4.8 6 0.7, p ¼ 0.001) and E (5.1 6 0.7,p ¼ 0.025). The carbon footprint of Hospital A was significantly lower (2.6 6 0.3 kg CO2 eq/person/day) andthat of Hospital D (4 6 0.9 kg CO2 eq/person/day) was significantly higher than those of others (p < 0.001).While other menus were similar (p > 0.05), the water footprint of Hospital A was significantly lower (3.5 6 0.7L/kg, p < 0.001). In addition, if the menus were suitable for the Mediterranean diet, a reduction of 2.2–23.4% inthe carbon footprint and 37.5–58.6% in the water footprint could be achieved. Moreover, menus’ carbon andwater footprints were negatively correlated with NRF 9.3 and SAIN-LIM scores.Research limitations/implications – The primary aim should be to ensure that the planned menusfollow the dietary guidelines. In addition, it is an undeniable fact that sustainable nutrition is a complexprocess with many dimensions. However, it seems possible to improve the nutrient profiles of the menus andreduce their environmental footprint with minor changes to be made in food services.Practical implications – It seems possible to improve the nutrient profiles of the menus and reduce theirenvironmental footprint with minor changes. For both health and environmental impacts, food servicesshould switch to menus suitable for the Mediterranean diet.Originality/value – The findings provide new insights into hospital menus’ quality andenvironmental impact. Keywords Hospital menus, Nutrient profiling, Mediterranean diet, Carbon footprint, Water footprintPaper type Research paper</p
