Rayleigh-Ritz method for analyzing free vibration of orthotropic rectangular plate with 2D thickness and temperature variation

    Get PDF
A plate structure is of key interest to aerospace, mechanical and civil engineers. Vibration reduction is a major challenge pertaining to these fields; especially in aerospace applications, such a reduction must be achieved with a minimal increase in weight. The vibration of plates is a special case of the more general problem of mechanical vibrations. In this paper effect of bi-parabolic variation in temperature is premeditated on vibration of an orthotropic rectangular plate and whose thickness also varies bi-linear as in two dimensional. Frequency equation is derived by using Rayleigh-Ritz technique with a two-term deflection function. Time period, Deflection and Logarithmic decrement at different points for the first two modes of vibration are calculated for various values of thermal gradients, aspect ratio and taper constants

Analysis of Water Hammer Forming on the Sheet Metal

    Get PDF
The most important item in the analysis of a metal forming processes is the determination of the magnitude of the applied energy, since it is a parameter necessary for the design of processing equipment. Another important factor is to know the extent of deformation to which a work piece can be subjected before it fails. So, we ought to know the relationship between the energy and the deformation that it produces. The present paper considers relationship between the energy applied and extent of deformation as well as the variations of the radial strains, hoop strains along the radius under different hydraulic mediums is studied. Vibration of Non-Homogeneous Visco-Elastic Square Plate of Variable Thickness In both directions With Thermal Effect

    Get PDF
Plates are being increasingly used in the aeronautical and aerospace industry as well as in other fields of modern technology. Plates with variable thickness are of great importance in a wide variety of engineering applications i.e. nuclear reactor, aeronautical field, naval structure, submarine, earth-quake resistors etc. A mathematical model is presented for the use of engineers and research workers in space technology; have to operate under elevated temperatures. It is considered that the temperatures vary linearly in one direction and thickness of square plate varies linearly in two directions. An approximate but quite convenient frequency equation is derived for a square plate by using Rayleigh-Ritz technique. Both the modes of the frequency are calculated by the latest computational technique, MATLAB, for the various values of taper parameters and temperature gradient. All the results are presented in the form of table

Animal Representation in Advertising – A Cross-Cultural Analysis of Indian and Global Trends

    Get PDF
Advertising is a powerful tool that shapes consumer behavior, influences public perception, and reflects societal values. Animals have been a common motif in advertising campaigns for decades, playing various roles from mascots to symbols of different brands and products. However, the use of animals in advertising raises ethical questions and concerns about the treatment and portrayal of animals. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive comparative analysis of the use of animals in advertising, focusing on Indian and global trends. It explores the historical context, ethical considerations, legal regulations, cultural influences, and recent shifts in the use of animals in advertising. The analysis offers insights into the evolving relationship between animals and advertising in India and its alignment with or deviation from global practices

A Comparative Study of Personality Traits of Coaches and Physical Education Teachers

The purpose of the  study was to  investigate and compare the personality traits of coaches and physical education teachers.  One hundred coaches of individual and team games (N=50) and physical education teachers (N=50)  were  selected  for the purpose of study. To compare the personality traits of coaches and physical education teachers, 16 P.F., questionnaire developed by  Cattell, R.B. Eber, H.W. and Tatsuoka, M.M. (1970) was selected as criterion measure. The questionnaire in both Hindi and English version were  used.  To collect the reliable data,  the subjects were contacted at the place of posting and time was fixed to give the answer of the questions (30 to 60 Minutes). To assess the personality traits of sports coaches  and physical education teachers,  mean of sten scores and standard deviation for each of the 16 P.F. were computed.  To determine the significance of difference between coaches  and physical education teachers in their mean sten scores of the different personality factors, t-test was computed. Results of the study indicated  that coaches  and physical education teachers were largely found to be moderately, reserved, intelligent, trustable, practical, straight forward, placid, dependent, confused, relaxed and had  different personality traits. Design Simulation and Performance Assessment of Improved Channel Estimation for Millimeter Wave Massive MIMO Systems

    Get PDF
In this paper, we have optimize specificities with the use of massive MIMO in 5 G systems. Massive MIMO uses a large number, low cost and low power antennas at the base stations. These antennas provide benefit such as improved spectrum performance, which allows the base station to serve more users, reduced latency due to reduced fading power consumption and much more. By employing the lens antenna array, beam space MIMO can utilize beam selection to reduce the number of required RF chains in mm Wave massive MIMO systems without obvious performance loss. However, to achieve the capacity-approaching performance, beam selection requires the accurate information of beam space channel of large size, which is challenging, especially when the number of RF chains is limited. To solve this problem, in this paper we propose a reliable support detection (SD)-based channel estimation scheme. In this work we first design an adaptive selecting network for mm-wave massive MIMO systems with lens antenna array, and based on this network, we further formulate the beam space channel estimation problem as a sparse signal recovery problem. Then, by fully utilizing the structural characteristics of the mm-wave beam space channel, we propose a support detection (SD)-based channel estimation scheme with reliable performance and low pilot overhead. Finally, the performance and complexity analyses are provided to prove that the proposed SD-based channel estimation scheme can estimate the support of sparse beam space channel with comparable or higher accuracy than conventional schemes. Simulation results verify that the proposed SD-based channel estimation scheme outperforms conventional schemes and enjoys satisfying accuracy even in the low SNR region as the structural characteristics of beam space channel can be exploited

The present investigation was carried out to study the antidiabetic activity of the methanol extract from the leaves of Canthium parviflorum Lam. (Family- Rubiaceae) in adult Wistar rats at 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg p.o. respectively using normoglycemic, glucose loaded and alloxan induced hyperglycaemic models. Metformin (250 mg/kg, p.o.) was used as reference standard for the activity comparison. Results of the study revealed significant antidiabetic activity of the methanol extract in a dose dependent manner. The antidiabetic activity showed by the extract may be due to by promoting the insulin release from the undestroyed β-cells or its action may be similar to insulin. Our study supports the folklore claims to its utilization as an antidiabetic medicinal plant and and suggests that leaves possess promising therapeutic activity for the maintenance of diabetes mellitus
