On nonparametric estimation of a reliability function

    Get PDF
This article considers the properties of a nonparametric estimator developed for a reliability function which is used in many reliability problems. Properties such as asymptotic unbiasedness and consistency are proven for the estimator and using U-statistics, weak convergence of the estimator to a normal distribution is shown. Finally, numerical examples based on an extensive simulation study are presented to illustrate the theory and compare the estimator developed in this article with another based directly on the ratio of two empirical distributions studied in Zardasht and Asadi (2010)

Effects of plant proteins as food on growth performance, carcass quality and plasma biochemical parameters of Beluga juvenile (Huso huso)

    Get PDF
The possibility of replacing fish meal with plant protein sources (soybean meal and corn gluten) for beluga (initial body mass 159.55±2.14g) was studied in autumn 2009. Experimental feeds with 46.5% of crude protein, GE: 5.4 Cal g -1 in four replacement levels: 0, 270, 450 and 660 gr kg 1 were prepared and fish were fed on the diets for 60 days. Significant differences were found in growth performance (P0.05). Moisture of beluga carcass fed with diet 4 was significantly higher (P0.05) among diets. The hematocrit percentage was significantly higher in experimental treatments 1 and 2 than 3 and 4 and the plasma glucose was significantly different between diets 1 and 4 (P<0.05). With decreased fish meal, significantly (P<0.05) decreased plasma cholesterol was found in diet 1 compared to the diets 3 and 4. Results showed that combination of soybean meal and corn gluten is not a good substitute for fish meal and deceased growth performance of the fish

A Real-time Global Optimal Path Planning for mobile robot in Dynamic Environment Based on Artificial Immune Approach

    Get PDF
This paper illustrates a method to finding a globaloptimal path in a dynamic environment of known obstacles foran Mobile Robot (MR) to following a moving target. Firstly, theenvironment is defined by using a practical and standard graphtheory. Then, a suboptimal path is obtained by using DijkstraAlgorithm (DA) that is a standard graph searching method. Theadvantages of using DA are; elimination the uncertainness ofheuristic algorithms and increasing the speed, precision andperformance of them. Finally, Continuous Clonal SelectionAlgorithm (CCSA) that is combined with Negative SelectionAlgorithm (NSA) is used to improve the suboptimal path andderive global optimal path. To show the effectiveness of themethod it is compared with some other methods in this area

Symplectically-invariant soliton equations from non-stretching geometric curve flows

A moving frame formulation of geometric non-stretching flows of curves in the Riemannian symmetric spaces Sp(n+1)/Sp(1)×Sp(n)Sp(n+1)/Sp(1)\times Sp(n) and SU(2n)/Sp(n)SU(2n)/Sp(n) is used to derive two bi-Hamiltonian hierarchies of symplectically-invariant soliton equations. As main results, multi-component versions of the sine-Gordon (SG) equation and the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation exhibiting Sp(1)×Sp(n−1)Sp(1)\times Sp(n-1) invariance are obtained along with their bi-Hamiltonian integrability structure consisting of a shared hierarchy of symmetries and conservation laws generated by a hereditary recursion operator. The corresponding geometric curve flows in Sp(n+1)/Sp(1)×Sp(n)Sp(n+1)/Sp(1)\times Sp(n) and SU(2n)/Sp(n)SU(2n)/Sp(n) are shown to be described by a non-stretching wave map and a mKdV analog of a non-stretching Schr\"odinger map.Comment: 39 pages; remarks added on algebraic aspects of the moving frame used in the constructio

Quaternionic Soliton Equations from Hamiltonian Curve Flows in HP^n

A bi-Hamiltonian hierarchy of quaternion soliton equations is derived from geometric non-stretching flows of curves in the quaternionic projective space HPnHP^n. The derivation adapts the method and results in recent work by one of us on the Hamiltonian structure of non-stretching curve flows in Riemannian symmetric spaces M=G/HM=G/H by viewing HPn≃U(n+1,H)/U(1,H)×U(n,H)≃Sp(n+1)/Sp(1)×Sp(n)HP^n \simeq {\rm U}(n+1,H)/{\rm U}(1,H) \times {\rm U}(n,H)\simeq {\rm Sp}(n+1)/{\rm Sp}(1)\times {\rm Sp}(n) as a symmetric space in terms of compact real symplectic groups and quaternion unitary groups. As main results, scalar-vector (multi-component) versions of the sine-Gordon (SG) equation and the modified Korteveg-de Vries (mKdV) equation are obtained along with their bi-Hamiltonian integrability structure consisting of a shared hierarchy of quaternionic symmetries and conservation laws generated by a hereditary recursion operator. The corresponding geometric curve flows in HPnHP^n are shown to be described by a non-stretching wave map and a mKdV analog of a non-stretching Schrodinger map.Comment: 25 pages; typos correcte

In recent decades, using herbs and herbal extracts as growth promoters and immunostimulants in Aquaculture has been increased. In the current study, effects of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) extract on some hematological and serum parameters and growth performance of Barbus sharpeyi (Gunther, 1874(fingerlingswere studied. Four levels of ginger extract including 0 (Control group), 0.1, 0.5 and 1 per cent were added to basic diet. Fish were fed twice a day as 3 per cent of body weight for 8 weeks. At the end of the experimental period, biometry was performed and blood samples were collected from caudal vein. The results showed administration of ginger extract as a supplement in diet did not significantly affect growth indexes (WG and SGR) (p≄0.05). On the other hand, different levels of ginger extract could significantly increase WBC count, hematocrit and some hematological parameters. Also, Serum lysozyme activity and serum total protein and albumin were significantly increased after using ginger extract (p≀0.05). based on our results, ginger extract can be used as a growth promoter and immunostimulant for Barbus sharpeyi

A morphological, biological and molecular approach reveals four cryptic species of Trissolcus Ashmead (Hymenoptera, Scelionidae), egg parasitoids of Pentatomidae (Hemiptera)

    Get PDF
Accurate identification of parasitoids is crucial for biological control of the invasive brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomrpha halys (StÄl). A recent work by Talamas et al. (2017) revised the Palearctic fauna of Trissolcus Ashmead, egg-parasitoids of stink bugs, and treated numerous species as junior synonyms of T. semistriatus (Nees von Esenbeck). In the present paper, we provide a detailed taxonomic history and treatment of T. semistriatus and the species treated as its synonyms by Talamas et al. (2017) based on examination of primary types, molecular analyses and mating experiments. Trissolcus semistriatus, T. belenus (Walker), T. colemani (Crawford), and T. manteroi (Kieffer) are here recognized as valid and a key to species is provided. The identification tools provided here will facilitate the use of Trissolcus wasps as biological control agents and as the subject of ecological studies
