    Sifat Fisikokimia Oleoresin Fuli Pala Hasil Ekstraksi Berbantu Ultrasonik Pada Metode Pengeringan yang Berbeda

    Ekstraksi berbantu ultrasonik (Ultrasound Assisted Extraction, UAE) dapat meningkatkan rendemen, kualitas dan fungsionalitas ekstrak serta mempersingkat waktu ekstraksi. Fuli memiliki lebih banyak senyawa aromatik yang dapat dipertahankan dalam berbagai proses pengolahan daripada biji pala. Pengeringan menjadi proses penting yang mempengaruhi kualitas fuli pala sebagai bahan baku oleoresin. Penelitian ini membandingkan rendemen, sifat fisik dan komposisi senyawa kimia oleoresin fuli pala hasil UAE pada metode pengeringan yang berbeda. Fuli pala dikeringkan dengan dua metode pengeringan (penjemuran dan pengasapan), digiling menjadi bubuk berukuran 60 mesh. UAE diaplikasikan pada bubuk fuli pala dalam etanol (1:4 b:v) pada frekuensi 20 kHz, daya 700 W, amplitudo 90%, suhu maksimum 50oC dan waktu ekstraksi 45 menit. MaserasiĀ  selama 7 jam pada suhu ruang dilakukan sebagai perlakuan kontrol. Sifat fisik (bobot jenis, indeks bias, nilai a*, kroma dan hue) oleoresin fuli pala hasil UAE berbeda nyata antara pengasapan dan penjemuran. Sifat fisik (bobot jenis, indeks bias, nilai L, nilai a*, nilai b*, kroma dan hue) oleoresin juga berbeda nyata antara hasil ekstraksi berbantu ultrasonik dan maserasi. Pengasapan menghasilkan rendemen, sisa penguapan dan total senyawa utama oleoresin fuli pala hasil ekstraksi berbantu ultrasonik (19,78%, 24,36%, dan 63,37%) lebih tinggi dari penjemuran (15,80%, 23,05%, dan 53,91%) serta maserasi (14,49%, 22,07%, dan 54,31%)

    Effect of Varying Color LED Lights on Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) Bulbil Seed Germination and Porang Plant Vegetative Growth Phase

    Intensive cultivation is one of the strategies for developing Porang commodities to increase production by using LED lights as optimum lighting for Porang cultivation. Porang bulbil was germinated and planted in a growth chamber with 100% red, 100% blue, 100% white, and 67%:20%:13% red:blue:white lighting. Compared to other LED treatments and sunlight, red:blue:white LED had the best effect on Porang plant germination parameters in the first 30 days, with 100% of germination parameters (GP %), 17.2 days of mean germination time (MGT), 6.33%/day of germination rate index (GRI), 5.81% of germination velocity coefficient (CVG), and 138.0 of germination index (GI). For the next 30 days, red:blue:white LED had the best effect on Porang plant vegetative growth, with 29.64 cm plant height, 11.43 cm crown diameter, 21.96 cm root length, 17.342 g fresh weight, 1.368 g dry weight, and 57.53 leaf green index. The plant height prediction model is used to predict crop yield, with the coefficient of determination (R2), root means square deviation (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and average absolute percentage error (MAPE) values up to 0.9854, 0,6894, 1,2623, and 3,9413, respectively, under model validation of the combination of LED

    Penerapan Biodigester Untuk Pengolahan Air Limbah Industri Tapioka Berbasis Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Berkelanjutan di Rumah Produksi Pangan Selopamioro, Yogyakarta

    Cassava is one of the superior commodities in Selopamioro Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Cassavaā€™s high productivity in the Selopamioro Village is up to 2,75 tons/ha with total land area of 415 ha. However, this potential condition still faces various challenges in the sectors of farmers, production, quality, low selling prices, limited market accessibility. Processing cassava into modified cassava flour (Mocaf) is implemented innovation at Selopamioro Food Production House (FHP) for increasing cassava added value and its diversification products. The Selopamioro is also jointly managed by the farmer groups. However, mocaf production could produce wastewater which cause odor problems in the community and environmental pollution due to improper treatment. The mocaf wastewater is acidic and contains high organic matter. The community empowerment aimed to solve odor problems in the community, implement biodigester as sustainable wastewater treatment technology, create the Selopamioro FHP as a transferring knowledge center regarding food processing with environmentally sound, implement sustainable community empowerment model. The activity was carried out in July - September 2022 with periodic monitoring. Biodigester implementation has treated the mocaf waste water with removal percentages of BOD, COD, TDS, cyanide, total ammonia were 97,47; 96,53; 1,.94; 93,75; 97,17%, respectively and increased DO up to 614,29%. The community empowerment has successfully solved odor and environmental problems since biodigester implementation, in which no more complaints from the public. Sustainable community empowerment model and local food processing center with environmentally sound also have been implemented in the Selopamioro Village.Singkong merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan di Desa Selopamioro, Kecamatan Imogiri, Kabupaten Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Produktivitas singkong di Desa Selopamioro cukup tinggi mencapai 2,75 ton/ha dengan luas total lahan 415 ha. Namun, potensi besar komoditas singkong tersebut masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan dari sektor petani, produksi, kualitas, rendahnya harga jual, hingga terbatasnya akses pemasaran. Pengolahan singkong menjadi tepung singkong termodifikasi (modified cassava flour, mocaf) dan olahan pangannya merupakan inovasi yang telah diterapkan di rumah produksi pangan (RPP) Selopamioro untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah singkong dan diversifikasi produknya. RPP Selopamioro juga dikelola bersama oleh kelompok petani. Namun, proses pembuatan mocaf menghasilkan air limbah sehingga menyebabkan permasalahan bau tidak sedap di masyarakat dan mencemari lingkungan karena belum diolah secara tepat. Air limbah mocaf bersifat asam dan tinggi kandungan bahan organik. Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan bau akibat air limbah mocaf di masyarakat, penerapan biodigester sebagai teknologi pengolahan limbah berkelanjutan, menjadikan RPP Selopamioro sebagai sentra transfer pengetahuan pengolahan pangan berwawasan lingkungan, implementasi model pemberdayaan masyarakat berkelanjutan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Juli ā€“ September 2022 dengan monitoring berkala. Implementasi biodigester mampu mengolah air limbah mocaf dengan persentase penyisihan BOD, COD, TDS, sianida, total amonia masing-masing berkisar 97,47; 96,53; 12,94; 93,75; 97,17%, dan meningkatkan DO hingga 614,29%. Hal ini sekaligus menyelesaikan permasalahan bau tidak sedap karena air limbah mocaf sudah terolah dengan tepat dan tidak ada lagi keluhan dari masyarakat. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan juga telah mampu mengimplementasikan model pemberdayaan masyarakat berkelanjutan dan mewujudkan sentra pengolahan produk pangan lokal berwawasan lingkungan

    Physicochemical Properties of Nutmeg Oleoresin Obtained by Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction from Different Raw Material Qualities and Drying Methods

    Oleoresin is one of the processed nutmeg products that become the potential agro-industrial export product for Indonesia. The main problems of oleoresin production are the quality diversities of nutmeg as the raw materials because of the improper and inadequate drying process. Ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) has recently proposed to shorten the extraction time, increase recovery yield, and also improve oleoresin quality. This study aims to determine the effect of the raw material qualities and drying methods on the yield and physicochemical properties of the nutmeg oleoresin obtained by UAE. Nutmeg was dried with two drying methods (smoked drying and sun-drying) and graded into two kinds of nutmeg quality (grade 1 and 2), then ground into the particle size of 60 mesh. UAE was applied on nutmeg powders with ethanol solvent (1:4 w:v) at 20 kHz frequency, 700 W power, 90% amplitude, at 50oC maximum temperature, and 45 minutes of extraction time. Maceration was carried out as the control treatment by 7 hours of extraction time at room temperature. The raw material qualities and drying methods produced oleoresin obtained by UAE with yield, and physicochemical properties (specific gravity, refractive index, and non-volatile content) were statistically different among treatments. The nutmeg oleoresin obtained by UAE from grade 1 and smoked drying has the highest yield (23.63%) and the lowest non-volatile content (35.54%).
