    Physiological demands of mountain running races

    The aim of this study was to analyze the exercise intensity and competition load (PL) based on heart rate (HR) during different mountain running races. Seven mountain runners participated in this study. They competed in vertical (VR), 10-25 km, 25-45 km and >45 km races. The HR response was measured during the races to calculate the exercise intensity and PL according to the HR at which both the ventilatory (VT) and respiratory compensation threshold (RCT) occurred. The exercise intensity below VT and between VT and RCT increased with mountain running race distance. Likewise, the percentage of racing time spent above RCT decreased when race duration increased. However, the time spent above RCT was similar between races (~50 min). The PL was significantly higher (p45 km, respectively). The ratio of PL to accumulative altitude gain was similar in all races (~0.16 AU·m-1). In conclusion, outcomes from this study demonstrate the high exercise intensities and physiologic loads sustained by runners during different mountain races

    Indicators of Good Practices of Service-Learning University

    The proliferation of innovative experiences in university education has been confirmed in different forums, as well as the evidence of their impact in research. However, the available tools are limited when trying to address the quality assessment of University Service-Learning (USL) projects. We present a tool for the evaluation of your SL projects. The goal of the Matrix is to specify the essential and secondary indicators needed to develop good practices in USL: IM_USL. A protocol is established to carry out its assessment. Dimensions and phases indicators of a project are specied, as well as the agents or people involved in it. This tool tries to guide the development of USL projects and to specify different points to improve. The application of the IM_USL will allow you to explore, exhaustively, each of the dimensions and indicators that make up a USL project, regarding both the AGENTS involved and the PHASES that make up a programme. In order to gather information on the reality of the projects, the phases and agents involved in a USL project will be reviewed in particular, determining the level of achievement of the indicators that compose it and of the dimensions that specify the particularities of each indicator. Finally, a series of questions are proposed to guide the process of analysis and reflection on the quality of the evaluated project. As a result, we will be able to obtain an X-ray of the quality of the project and the possible aspects for improvement.Funding: Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Grant: I+D 2019.     Toward the integration of monitoring in the orchestration of across spaces learning situations

    Technologies such as augmented Reality (AR), 3D Virtual Worlds (3DVWs) and mobile phones are extending education to other spaces beyond the classroom or the Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). However, the richness of across-spaces learning situations that could be conducted in all these spaces is hampered by the difficulties (encompassed under the “orchestration” metaphor) that teachers face to carry them out. Monitoring can help in such orchestration, and it has been highly explored in face-to-face and blended learning. Nevertheless, in ubiquitous environments it is usually limited to activities taking place in a specific type of space (e.g., outdoors). In this paper we propose an orchestration system which supports the monitoring of learning situations that may involve web, AR-enabled physical and 3DVW spaces.     La proliferación de experiencias innovadoras en la educación superior ha quedado constatada en diferentes foros, al igual que las evidencias de su impacto en la investigación. Sin embargo, son limitadas las herramientas disponibles para abordar la evaluación de la calidad de proyectos de Aprendizaje-Servicio Universitario. Te presentamos una herramienta (Matriz ApSU) para la evaluación de proyectos de ApSU. La aplicación de la Matriz de ApSU permitirá explorar, exhaustivamente, cada una de las dimensiones e indicadores que componen un proyecto de ApSU, relativos tanto a los AGENTES implicados como a las FASES que componen un programa. Para recoger información de la realidad de los proyectos se revisarán de manera particular las fases y los agentes implicados en un proyecto ApSU, determinando el nivel de logro de los indicadores que la componen y de las dimensiones que concretan las particularidades de cada indicador. Por último, se proponen una serie de preguntas para orientar el proceso de análisis y reflexión de la calidad del proyecto evaluado.
