    Get PDF

The high rate of motorcycle accidents, especially in adolescents is increasing, which at that age adolescents tend to neglect the factor of safety of himself and others. Disciplinary problems in the use of safe driving (safety riding) bad traffic is a phenomenon that occurs in large cities in developing countries. To the knowledge of safety driving, known as Safety riding a provision which must be held before the start of driving on the road. The difficulty of finding material about proper riding safety for teens make teenagers difficult to understand the contents of the content material on safety driving. Based on these problems, the authors create an interactive animated educational program to facilitate teenagers riding safety in understanding how to drive safe and comfortable which is expected to develop discipline in driving especially among teenagers

This research was conducted in the room of Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty , University of North Sumatera, Medan and soil analize in Analitical Laboratory of PT. Socfindo Medan in Maret-Juni 2016. This research used Completly Randomized Factorial Design, with 2 factors. The first factor is organic fertilizer consist of without organic fertilizers (P0), compost of Tithonia (P1), compost of durian's shell (P2), compost of palm oil fruit bunches waste (P3), chicken manure (P4), compost of Tithonia + chicken manure (P5), compost of durian's shell + chicken manure (P6), compost of palm oil fruit bunches waste + chicken manure (P7). The second factor is incubation period (I) are one week and two weeks. The result showed that application of organic fertilizer are compost of Tithonia, compost of durian's shell, compost of palm oil fruit bunches waste, chicken manure, and the mixed compost with chicken manure was significant for C-Organic, totally soil-N, totally soil-P, and K exchange soil in Ultisol. The period incubation was not significant for C-Organik, totally soil-N, totally soil-P, and K exchange. The interaction of organic fertilizer application and period of incubation treatments was not significant for all parametri

Effects of channel estimation on multiuser virtual MIMO-OFDMA relay-based networks

In this paper, a practical multi-user cooperative transmission scheme denoted as Virtual Maximum Ratio Transmission (VMRT) for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (MIMO-OFDMA) Relay-based networks is proposed and evaluated in the presence of a realistic channel estimation algorithm. It is shown that this scheme is robust against channel estimation errors and offers diversity and array gain keeping the complexity low, although the multi-user and multi-antenna channel estimation algorithm is simple and efficient. Diversity gains larger than 4 can be easily obtained with reduced number of relays. Thus, this scheme can be used to extend coverage or increase system throughput by using simple cooperative OFDMA-based relays

    SILO6: A six-legged robot for humanitarian de-mining tasks

Detection and removal of antipersonnel landmines in infested fields is an important worldwide problem. Around 100 million landmines have been deployed over the last two decades, and demining will take several more decades, even if no more mines were deployed in future. A high mine-clearance rate can only be accomplished by using new technologies such as improved sensors, efficient manipulators and mobile robots. This paper presents some basic ideas on the configuration and controller of a mobile system for detecting and locating antipersonnel landmines in an efficient and effective way. The whole system has been configured to work in a semi-autonomous mode with a view also to robot mobility and energy efficiency. The paper outlines the main features of the overall system and focuses on some aspects of the controller. This work has been funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology under Grant CICYT DPI2001-1595.Peer reviewe

Blind Interference Alignment for Cellular Networks

    Get PDF
We propose a blind interference alignment scheme for partially connected cellular networks. The scheme cancels both intracell and intercell interference by relying on receivers with one reconfigurable antenna and by allowing users at the cell edge to be served by all the base stations in their proximity. An outer bound for the degrees of freedom is derived for general partially connected networks with single-antenna receivers when knowledge of the channel state information at the transmitter is not available. It is demonstrated that for symmetric scenarios, this outer bound is achieved by the proposed scheme. On the other hand, for asymmetric scenarios, the achievable degrees of freedom are not always equal to the outer bound. However, the penalty is typically small, and the proposed scheme outperforms other blind interference alignment schemes. Moreover, significant reduction of the supersymbol length is achieved compared with a standard blind interference alignment strategy designed for fully connected networks. This work has been partially funded by research projects COMONSENS (CSD2008-00010) and GRE3N (TEC2011-29006-C03-02). Proceeding at: 2015 European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC) took place June 29 - July 2 in Paris, France. In this paper, a functional LiFi real-time testbed implemented on FPGAs is presented. The setup evaluates the performance of our design in a downlink scenario where the transmitter is embedded on the streetlights and a mobile phone’s camera is used as receiver, therefore achieving the goal of lighting and communicating simultaneously. To validate the design, simulations of the whole system are performed. where simulations of the channel between streetlight and mobile device show the scope of the reflection in an outdoor environment. The measurements are carried out to characterize the modulator, in particular the FPGA resources and latency due to the encoder blocks. In addition the feasibility of the communication function in presence of the ambient light is verified. This work has been partly funded by Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Turismo of Spain and the Company UVAX - CONCEPTS, within Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, desarrollo e inovación Tecnológica 2013-2016 with project TSI-100502-2013-024
